Positano - Greensboro Ratings and Reviews
Food was very good. Service was very good until we finished our meal and needed our dinner packed in to-go containers. This is the first time that the Positano waitress/waiter did not offer to put our food in the to-go containers. Our waitress just gave us the containers, put the bill on the table, and left. I was speechless.
This is one of the best restaurants in the area and true italian restaurants. The pasta is always fresh, the bread excellent warm and tasty, great wine menu and wonderful service. I visit frequently for lunch and dinner both for work and family. The seafood pasta dishes are fresh, full of authentic flavor and there is plenty to eat. I always over indulge as the food cant be beat. This is a hidden gem and if you pass it up it is your loss as i cant say anything but good things. Dan
We had an uxpected guest, so we were 11 instead of 10. The waitresses handled it very graciously! They were cordial, patient, and great with our young child too. They offere a birthday suggested dessert with a candle, so we could sing! It was a tasty and joyous experience for all of us! I often recommend it to others!
My 2 friends and I were walking toward the entrance to Positano when we noticed a young girl laying awkwardly on the sideway/road. I had spotted her playing her guitar at the entrance to the shopping center earlier. We realized that something was very wrong, so went to her and quickly found out that she was experiencing heat exhaustion. At the same time we were asking her what happened, one of Positano's waitresses, Becca, was coming in for her shift. She came back out with ice water and a cold cloth. We then found out that this young lady is a student at UNCG and hadn't eaten all day. I went into the restaurant and explained the situation and they graciously gave me bread & butter and cucumbers (for dehydration), and we were able to get her into a safe location and call a friend of hers to come get her. Her friend came and all was well.
I cannot thank Becca, and the rest of the staff at Positano's for their concern and generosity. We went on to have a wonderful dinner, not the first time for us, and we will continue to frequent Positano's as it is one of our favorite Italian restaurants. Food is fabulous, their specials are great, the atmosphere is very nice, yet casual, and the wait staff is superb! Cudos to all!
Service was uneven. Everything appeared to be well-prepared and freshly prepared. My only issue was the chicken I added to my pasta didn't taste good to me. Also, the red wines we ordered were unusually warm. Once they "cooled" to room temperature, they were fine.
Despite my criticisms I want to go back and try other dishes.
We were a party of 6 for Mother's Day, ranging in age from 12 to 92. We also had a vegetarian in our party. Everyone found something delicious to eat. The service was excellent as well. It's a very open restaurant and tables are close together, so there is some noise. But we were able to hold a conversation with each other with no problem.
My family and I went there for Mother's Day. We were very disappointed in the food. None of us liked our food very much. My food did not even come out hot like I like it. It was luke warm. My sister-in-law ate very little of her food and did not want a take out because she said that it was not tasty enough to even take it home. The server was fine but I will never go there again. We only went there because it was one of the few places that we could get reservations. I should have known by the crowd or lack of crowd that the food must not be that good for it to be plenty of seats left on Mother's Day.
Positano's was one of my mother's favorite restaurants so it seemed fitting that my family and I would go there to celebrate on the first Mother's Day after her passing. It was very busy, as expected on a holiday like Mother's Day, but we only had a short wait and the food and service were as good as always. That isn't always the case with other restaurants. Positano's has been consistently very good every time I have visited from out of town.
