Excellent dinner. Food was outstanding!
Great! We had a nice waiter - food good!
We had lunch in the new outdoor terrace which was very nice. Great food, friendly server and best tiramisu I have ever had.
Dave was our restaurant liaison and he was great
The food was great
Ambience was great
Decor was pretty
We celebrated a birthday and couldn’t have picked a better restaurant to do it
The construction outside took away from the overall look of the restaurant I hope they get finished soon because their outdoor seating is so pretty
Tuna Tartare was great
Scallops were my favorite
Zucchini crab cake was good
Créme Brûlée was good as well
Will definitely be returning
Thomas the GM and his staff were amazing. I cannot wait to go back!
When we arrived it was not too busy - 6:00 on a Thursday. It got very busy as we were there and it was pretty noisy. Our server was very attentive and did a great job. Our food came out promptly and was very good.
Quality seafood. Great location. Will go back again.
Have been here many times but first time for brunch. The food is consistently good, portions not the biggest but have never had a meal I disliked. The outdoor patio is great (they have a lot of great outdoor seating options even before COVID). Thank you for a great meal!
Threw a friend a bridal shower brunch. We had a good time it was really nice the staff was amazing great service! I’ve been here plenty of times and always a great experience!
The noise coming out of the sound system by the DJ was intolerable. It would be better to have music. The noise would have been appropriate for teenagers on a Saturday night. If we have reservations and hear that noise, we will turn around and skip the reservation.
Reunion happy hour brunch
I’ve never been to this restaurant before. It is listed among the top for an outdoor and amazing view experience. When I made a reservation for outside, I expected an amazing view. We were seated outside on the street. Not what we expected. The food was amazing. The service sucked. If I ever go back, it will be for the food. Not the experience.
The food, service was excellent. Food is a little pricey but it was really good
Food and service were great!
Really good food and great atmosphere. Loved the Crabcake!
Great service and food. Will definitely be back for happy hour and dinner.
The food was amazing! Can't believe I lived in the city so long and this was my 1st time there. Besides the awesome food, our waiter was a little off. He passed us at least 10x before greetings us.
The food & service were exceptional!!
We had a bottle of wine & my wife ordered a specialty drink that was awesome as well. 1st time to your Restaurant & we were both impressed!!
Ivan knew the menu extremely well & his recommendations were on point.
Our service was good to start, but quickly tapered off. Several members of staff walked by our table, but didn’t refill water or take away dishes. My ravioli was under-seasoned and room temperature when it arrived—the dish left a lot to be desired. I noticed the servers payed more attention to larger parties and seemed to forget about the tables of 2-3.
Additionally, the restaurant was kind of dirty; there was food on the wall and decor.
All of the dishes were got were very hit or miss. I got the vodka pasta with shrimp and it was delicious but my boyfriend got the salmon with broccoli and it wasn't seasoned, was very bland, and even looked kind of unappetizing.
The service was also a little disappointing. There weren't many people out on the patio, yet we waited more than 10 minutes for water and then another 15 minutes for our first glasses of wine.
Very different from my other experiences here. Usually this place is awesome!
This restaurant had major potential, but there were a few things that left us disappointed. The Friday night live music was great, but so loud we couldn’t hear each other talking (and we were sitting fairly far away). The food was also hit and miss. The seafood board was pretty, but the shrimp were over charred a bit and a few of us found it all to be overly salty. The salmon entree we shared was also over cooked and dry, but flavorful. On a positive note, the drinks were creative and tasty, and the squid ink pasta was perfection. Our service was also great. Our waiter had a great personality and made up for the mostly “just ok” food. The restaurant was also nice and open and bright. I’ll give it another go, as it could have just been a bad night for the kitchen.
Really disappointing. While the scallops and risotto were pretty good, the pasta dishes were uninspired, and the salmon was so over cooked it was inedible. The service was also poor. The waiter never came by after our food arrived, until dropping the check. Touristy and loud. Not recommended.
I had a great experience here! Exceptional food.
Food was not worth the price
This must have been an off night. The service and food were not up to the same standard that I’ve been used to here. It felt like my server was annoyed. He made a comment to me about serving customers that don’t speak English as their first language. He expressed how that bothered him. The food was not presented well and the portions were a lot less than what I’ve had in the past. Maybe because it was Sunday?
The NJ location has always been top notch. I was quite disappointed tonight.
Nearly a year ago this was my my and my fiancé's first restaurant we went to in Philly. We decided to take the trip back for our one year anniversary of living in Philly, and it was just as good as we remembered!
My reservation was for a party of 4 coming in to celebrate my birthday. I picked this restaurant because I have been here before and the food and service was great! But not today! Our server spilled 2 drinks at our table which got on 2 of us to begin the evening. There was no apology or concern from the server or management. The only thing asked was if dry cleaning was needed. The food was nothing short of amazing. But the lack of service outshined the food. Our server was not attentive throughout our meal and we felt pretty neglected. As time for dessert came, again we were celebrating my birthday and the server placed the candle in front of the wrong person. Lastly, we got the bill which surprisingly no drinks or desserts were comped. Working in the restaurant industry for over 7 years I have never experienced a fine dinging place lack such management skills. Overall great food, bad service.
I do recall the incident that afternoon and I apologize you were displeased with how the situation ended. I know the server was very upset, and I am sorry if he did not communicate his apology well to you. I did offer to have your items dry cleaned, quickly moved your table with an apology, and purchased that round of drinks for you. I am sorry that you do not agree with how I handled the issue. Please feel free to email me directly to follow up. Shawn@positanocoast.net Shawn Leahey
Only the brunch menu was available. But we expected a real Italian menu. The ambience was for very young people. It was way too loud.
I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy the brunch menu that was available during your visit. We do offer some "traditional" Italian dishes but our menu is definitely a blend of old and new style cuisines. While our brunch demographic is on the younger side our dinner guests to tend to be much quieter. As for the noise, as soon as the remodel is complete this issue will be rectified and I hope you will rejoin us then.
Positano is supposed to be a top philly spot so I took friends out of town here. The service was very good. The spot is cute. It's a little remote/secluded. The 12pm brunch had a DJ which some may like and others may not. They provide fantastic heavy duty XXL umbrellas to shield from sun. Their menu is good. We got lobster skillet pasta and 2 brunch burgers. Very tasty. But both my friends who ordered the burger asked for medium rare (both). They got the burgers. And one of my friends was great but the other burger was pretty inedible. See photos. Not sure why one came out fine and the other not. We decided not to say anything but I think we definitely made the wrong decision doing so. Not the restaurants fault because we choose not to speak up. But I did feel horrible for my friend. He ended up not eating most of it since it got worse as you got towards the middle of the patty. I have pictures haha. I love a rare burger but this was pretty gross. We should've asked them to take it back and give him a new one. Especially with the normal burger to compare to. Again, both requested as medium rare. Other than that the experience was good and the lobster skillet was very yummy. The vibe of the porch was very cute.
Overall very poor experience, would not go again.
Very good meal and drinks. Outdoor seating was much quieter than inside.
First time and for sure not the last. Other than the noise level being a little loud..but was to be expected reading thru previous reviews. Service was great- dinner was delish.
Definitely coming back.
Love the views on the second floor! The outside patio was also very cute! Food was really good and would definitely dine here again!
Positano Coast never disappoints, especially with Nick as your excellent wait-person ! I've enjoyed many a lovely dining experience here and I introduced friends to Positano Coast for their first visit -- we all look forward to returning and hopefully have Nick as our wonderful wait-person again.
Unbelievably noisy Food was good but noise came from multiple parties at same time which were not well isolated
Something changed during the pandemic. They now only offer Brunch on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Was there last year early in the pandemic and had such a wonderful meal with outstanding customer service. Very disappointed by the choice of brunch items. DJ was blasting music louder than it needed. Service was very slow but that's everywhere right now due to lack of staff that really want to work. I'll give them another shot sometime next year.
Amazing dinner! Knowledgeable server made excellent recommendations. Every dish we ordered was a Hit!
We’ve been hear before and really enjoyed the experience. This time was a nightmare of noise. I’ve been in noisy restaurants before but this was louder than any sports bar on a playoff night. We could hear the waiter and he had trouble hearing us.
The experience was nauseating and guaranteed we will not be going back!
I apologize the Live Jazz band was not to your enjoyment. Unfortunately we are in the middle of a remodel and due to travel restrictions and supply chain issues we are struggling with handling the extra noise. We apologize again.
The service and food was amazing. We ate mussels, oysters, whole fish and linguine. The noise was level was down, and the outdoor seating was very comfortable and spacious.
Best place for brunch cocktails dinner you name it it’s a great place to hang out beautifully decorated great staff the best
