Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti Ratings and Reviews
This was my first time at this restaurant. We ate early in the evening, in order to attend a play, so there was little crowd. The restaurant opened the second floor deck for us so we could eat out of doors. (I think we started a trend for the evening!) The service was appropriately attentive and the food was very good. I would be very happy to go back.
In short, we had a terrific meal at Positano Coast. We really enjoyed the fixed price dinner for two. My wife and I enjoyed everything about the meal and thought it was a very good value. We are looking forward to going back soon - perhaps for our upcoming wedding anniversary.
We have been to this restaurant a number of times from 2000-2009. Since that time, the food has gone downhill (used to be great). Quantity was very small and quality was nondescript. Service was poor, waiter was rude and inattentive. What a shame to see a great restaurant decline like this!
I used to go to Positano Coast for interview dinners that were held by the hospital I work for. However the menu then was restricted to 3 dishes and some apetizers , and this is the forst time that I experience Positano Coast with a full menu. The ambiance is great in the main dining room , very summer-y , moderate music and noise. The menu is greaT ! We had an all sea-food experience, the octupus , the suid ink linguinin with crab meat and the seafood risotto were all excellent and cooked to perfection. The waitress was nice and helpfull , and was very efficient with our check when we said we were trying to catch a movie. I am definitely going back.
I am absolutely in love with Positano Coast!! We dined on a Friday night and I was surprised to find it pretty quiet but it made for a great setting. Our server, Nick was great! He was very nice, gave us enough privacy and had good recommendations. The food was amazing, everything came out really fast too. I had such a nice evening! Thank you!
This was my 3rd time to Positano. The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The wait staff was extremely attentive. I was really impressed. My girlfriend gave me kudos for such a great pick. I highly recommend this place.
This is the 3rd or 4th time I have been here and I love it. Only a few changes/recommendations: bring back chicken parm or add 1 more chicken entree; the portions could be a little big bigger; the waitress was a little slow in getting new drinks. Otherwise, the food was great, the service was top notch, and I would come back again.
First time here and will definitely go back! Food and service were excellent and reasonably priced! The menu offering makes it hard to decide on one choice so the two of us shared. The antipasto was delicious, the baked cannelloni could have used a bit more flavor so ask for some parmesean to enhance, but the zucchini crab cake was outrageous...the best crab cake ever. The chocolate mousse dessert was heaven! The food presentation was tempting. For a Saturday night, the service was exceptional and our food was served promptly.
I had been to Cafe Aldo Lamberti in Cherry Hill a couple of times but this was my first visit to Positano Coast. I absolutely enjoyed the evening. Our waiter was exceptional with a great sense of humor. The food was great. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone I know.
Overall I feel that the experience was just ok. A few of my friends had told me about this restaurant and after their reviews and looking over the valentine's day menu made the selection. I ordered the bartenders choice drink, which I thought were $5 for a special on Tuesdays, but was shocked at my bill after only 3 drinks was over $30. I figured it was the speciality drink for V-day and wrote it off. Ordered Calamari and Bisque. Calamari was great, but there was no accomadating sauce to give flavor. Bisque was a little to runny and needed to be a bit more rich. Entree's were ok, but wished the veal chop was stuffed just a bit more with mozzarealla and prosciutto. Serivce just a bit slow between courses, but to be expected on V-day.
The food was amazing and the ambience in general was fantastic. I definitely plan on coming back here. While it is a little expensive for regular occurrence, it was worth every penny. They serve you the perfect amount of food and the service is quick. You can be there for thirty minutes or three hours depending on how long you want to stay; I would recommend this restaraunt to anyone looking for a good night out.
Went here to celebrate a anniversary. I actually ate here before but didn't realize it. THey have unique mediterranian (sp) cuisine however my bf enjoyed it. He had never ate this type of cuisine before. He tends to order duck when we go out and loved it. THe bread was okay but I would have liked to have ciabatta bread or a french roll insead. Overall enjoyed!
It was my birthday so I chose this spot. My friends and I had a great time. The waiter--Vincenzo(spelling?) was cool and pleasant; even sent me a complimentary bday desert with candle. Cute! I would recommend this place to anyone who appreciate a nice ambiance.
I love this place: the food is consistently good and fresh. Recommendations: the grilled artichoke/arugula salad and the vegetable ravioli. Also, because of the sunlight and huge photo murals of Positano, the restaurant has an airy feel. Did I mention the bread? Warm and wonderful.
We ate here on 2/11/2011. A total of three couples. Their Lemon Drop Cocktails are the best. Great taste. The only issue I had with the restaurant is that we moved from the bar to the couches in the bar area. The service there was scarce. The waiter wasn't around much. We wanted drinks and he wasn't around. We even had to go to the bar and get our own drinks and bring them back to the couches. When the waiter isn't getting drinks he should be stationed real close to observe when drinks need refreshed. As for the food it is Excellent. The shrimp and zuchinni fritters are excellent. The dinner Crab cake was delicious over spinish. Vegetable Ravioli Great. Salmon Great. Dessert Nutella Crepe Excellent. Caesar salad GREAT.
We had such a great time.. Bartenders made such great drinks and the anbiance was awesome! Our food was great and Harold was the best waiter. He let us pace our meal which we really appreciated so we were really able to enjoy the restaurant. We never felt rushed and we we're able to drink eat and enjoy the night. Food was great!!
We booked for the last Friday of Restaurant Week, probably not the best time to review a restaurant. But, we loved it and will return. Small, cozy, modest decor but good vibe. For a fixed menu there were great selections and each dish was excellent. Despite being fully booked service was very good, courses were well timed and no one was rushed if they lingered over coffee. The noise level became energetic as the evening passed but with smaller tables it was no problem keeping a conversation. Very small waiting area (about 3 persons) so make reservations and be punctual or wait outside. Staff was upbeat through the night and the host gave full attention to every table.
We have dined at Positano coast several times. The bar is great and is a wonderful place to drop in for a drink and finger food. Dinner is usually very good too, but I have recently noticed that the portions are becoming a bit miserly. I ordered the steak bolognese. When I see steak on a menu, I expect to get a steak. Instead, I received four small slices of meat! It wouldn't have even been enough for a sandwich, let alone a dinner entree.
I do nt expect (or want) grotesque, Buca di Beppo piles of food, but the portions at Positano are really getting ridiculous. I understand costs are rising, but I would prefer to pay more for a decent-sized serving than watch the food dissapear.
Mediocre in all respects at best. Nothing really bad, but nothing outstanding or memorable about the food, decor or service. We were there on a winter day. The tile floors and plastic walls added no warmth. I felt cold. It was cold because my food cooled very quickly. Perhaps it would be better to visit Positano Coast on a warm, summer day. One positive note: the bar area was very lively. I would not go there again. There are so many restaurants in the area that are superior that I would go to those first.
