Positano - Asheboro
I probably would've given 5 stars if the restaurant had paid any attention to our reservation. I met my daughter for her birthday lunch (noted in the reservation, but they never mentioned).
She arrived first and was seated in the worst table at the back of the restaurant next to the server station. Granted, I made the reservation that morning, but If you're going to allow these types of reservations, someone should pay more attention.
The place was busy, and I would certainly recommend it for the food and overall value. A little attention to detail would make the difference.
We love Positano's. Food is excellent and we were recently there celebrating my mother's 90th birthday with friends and family. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we had a great time. Service was fantastic.
As usual a great meal.
Excellent food but sitting by the door on a cold day negates that somewhat.
The greeter/hostess was not friendly and was on the phone when dealing with our party. Our server was pretty attentive and helpful. The food was FANTASTIC!
Poor service. Food had too much garlic.
Our waitress was unfamiliar with what drinks where available, and was even more unfamiliar with the menu. My dinner was incorrect, to what I ordered (actually not even close), but because I’ve eaten there before I knew the meal would still be good......not to mention that I didn’t want the other three that I was dining with to be uncomfortable with having to wait for me to get the correct meal.
Asked our waitress if we could get an Irish coffee and our waitress told US to go check with bartender to see if she could make an Irish Coffee. I asked if she could check with bartender and she said she would send the bartender over.
Brought flattened bread because she placed 3 plates and olive oil on bread.
We asked if a carb like potatoes or rice came with steak, she pointed to bread and said "There's your carbs."
Had to return Sprite as it tasted as though the syrup bag needed to be replaced and she argued that she can't drink Mr. Pibb here and that's just how it tastes. I asked her again if she could check again. Finally received the Sprite and it was much better.
By the time we got our meal, we just wanted to leave and get out of there. Normally we order dessert, but had no desire to do so because of our experience
It appeared that she is a new waitress; I would recommend some 1 on 1 training in customer service.
This was our first time there and we were very pleased with the food and the service. We live in Asheboro and we didn’t even know about this restaurant until a friend told us about it earlier the same day we tried it. I am so glad we did. We will definitely be back. I also liked that I could go online and make reservations.
We enjoyed our first visit to Positano. The food was excellent - I had ravioli, and my wife had veal. Prices are very reasonable - our two meals including a bottle of wine and dessert totaled around $100 including tip. Service was good but a little uneven. We waited quite a while for our wine, and we would have preferred a bit more time between salad and entree, but the server did come by several times to check on us. We don't eat out a lot, so we look for a superior experience when we do. I'm sure we'll return to Positano.
New Year’s Eve dinner! Love this place!!
Enjoyed everything about this great find in downtown Asheboro. Salad was very fresh.
As always, the seating, service, food and overall atmosphere were wonderful!
The Bread, The Salad and the Service, All Outstanding. I recommend the Veal Parmigiana. Will be back soon.
We went to eat at 1145 on Sunday. We ordered fried zucchini as an appetizer. The zucchini came out cold and limp without any breading. We of course sent it back. Then within a minute we got our meal. I told the waitress we ordered salads. Didn't get salads until we started our meal. Then we finally got our zucchini. We asked for bread a couple of times when the waitress informed us the bread was from yesterday and it was being heated up. She said she would not get the eat the bread and it would be best if we didn't go there. So over all it was terrible. We will NEVER go back there again. Also I would plead with open table to get them off your listing. It looks so bad on you to even recommend this restaurant.
Service was great.
Food - chk alfredo was drown out by butter in the sauce. Moreover the chicken was limp and not firm.
Some visits this dish is amazing, and other times, such as this recent visit, the dish was unfortunately sub-par.
All other dishes were fantastic !
It is very frustrating that they don’t have a better way for people with mobility issues.
Positano used to be one of my favorite resturants. But, the last two times my wife and I ate there, the food was not good. It was barely warm and was cold before I could finish and I am a very fast eater. It tasted like it was Chef Boy-r-Dee out of a can. The bread was not hot, maybe just warm and not as good as it used to be. I hope things turn around we loved eating there but not sure we'll be back after the last two times. I don't know if the chef has changed or what. Service was good as normal, atmosphere was fine. Just need to work on the food and get back to where it used to be.
All I can think of is consistency. These guys are consistently great.
There was a mix up with our open table reservation, but it all worked out. Sat at a table in bar area with April as our server. She was the best! Lots of positive energy!
Excellent food with excellent service. Food was done perfectly.
Positano was a very pleasant surprise while passing through Asheboro. The food was excellent and abundant. Service was attentive. Nice atmosphere. You too will be pleasantly surprised. Prices were really good.
This restaurant was absolutely fantastic! Great service and will be returning. The owner of the restaurant is the chef!! Wow! You should go check out this place 😍 The best food in town!!! 💕
Best Italian food! The service is great, my family enjoyed our meal and service.
Kudos to Sheila who was very professional as always ... our out-of-town guests were quite impressed!
We came a party of 17. No one had ever been there before. Our experience was great. All have said they will return. Everyone’ Food was fabulous.
Great! We will be back!
Haven't had a bad meal ever there. It is our go to place when we want Italian food. We live in Healing Springs and worth the 40 min drive.
The Service, Food, and Value for this restaurant are all excellent. Visited for the first time recently, and ordered one of the veal dishes. The atmosphere is nice, and the service was great. Best of all, the meal was outstanding. The veal was cooked and seasoned perfectly, as was everything else. This is probably going to be the best Italian restaurant in 40 miles or so, maybe more.
The service was very very slow. I asked for ranch dressing with my calamari. Never got it. Waitress came back and said "Oh, I forgot your ranch" and I replied "I know". Her response "darn". No apology. Had to ask for a refill on tea. Never offered any Parmesan cheese for our dinners. Menu says "no substitutions so we may better serve you". So it is all about them and not about the customers. The dinners were overpriced for the amount of food you receive. My son ordered lasagna. The meat tasted like breaded frozen meatballs (mostly bread, not meat). Would I go back again? NEVER!!!
I had the gnocchi and it was drowned in way to much sauce, but it had a good flavor. I loved the warm complementary bread served, it was great! The calamari was very tender, and the bruschetta was nicely seasoned and toasted. The server was pleasant and attentive, in all a very good experience!
We really enjoy Positano's. The food is always good. It is so nice to have such a nice Italian restaurant in Asheboro without having to drive to Greensboro.
The food was delicious and our waitress was very nice. However- beware of the daily special! We went the night before Father’s Day and the special was salmon and mashed potatoes. The special was on a big board by the hostess stand but no price was listed. Got the bill- and that one plate was $22!!!!! All other entrees were $12-$15 so I didn’t think the salmon would cost that much more. I know better for next time, but the ambiance was very nice so my family will definitely be back.
Great food. Great service. Plenty of room for large gatherings.
Positano serves consistently good food in a pleasant, inviting atmosphere.
One of our favorite restaurants. Haven't had a bad meal there yet.
Have been several times. Never a wait for our reservation. The service has been great and the food, even better.
Tori is the best waitress here and always makes it worthwhile.
This is our go to place. However, Saturday night was awful. We had an 8pm reservation. We waited 10 minutes and no server. We had to address the hostess about it. She herself came over and took our drink orders. We ordered a bottle of wine and they brought the wine all served up in glasses to our table. We sent it back and the manager came back with the glasses and said she had opened a new bottle and poured the glasses at the bar and walked away. We had no idea we were drinking what we ordered. We never saw the bottle nor were we given the opportunity to taste the wine as is the normal process when ordering a bottle. The young girl serving us seemed upset that she was given an extra table. When she served our food she slammed the plates down in front of us. Never asked us if all was ok, could she get us anything. The meal itself was fabulous as always. However, the service, the manager, the server were awful. Asheboro has so few restaurants so we don't have the luxury of just not going back. If there were other choices ....we would not return. But this is not the first time we have experienced poor service. The manager there is also not fit to be a manager of a restaurant...she is not personable, doesn't seem to help pick up any slack, she is basically just rude and her true colors shined bright on Saturday with the wine situation.
