Poseidon Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge
At Poseidon Greek Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge, the chefs follow Hippocrates recommendation that "food be thy medicine," by crafting healthy dishes rather than making popsicles from cough syrup. He sprinkle their recipes with krocus kozanis, a golden Greek spice, and infuses meals with oregano, rosemary, and thyme culled from the Taygetos Mountain of Kalamata. They also import fresh fish from the Aegean Sea before brushing salmon with extra virgin olive oil and tossing pasta with a medley of shellfish. Slick white tables and cool blue walls recall a refreshing day spent among the blue and white abodes lining the Greek shores of the Mediterranean.
Prepare yourselves for a culinary journey to Greece through this wonderful experience and taste....
Octopus & Branzino were excellent but everything else was disappointing. Spinach pie, Greek Saisage, and roasted potatoes were far from traditional and not good
Made a reservation for Mother's Day dinner and were not disappointed! We arrived before our booked time, but that was not problem since the restaurant was not that busy... The person who greeted us was friendly and showed us to a nice table right by the window.
Our waiter was also very attentive, and when we were unsure about our wine selection, he brought out a bottle and let us taste it, which was a nice touch!
The food we ordered was also absolutely delicious: we had two appetizers - grilled octopus and grilled sausage, both very tasty. Our main course dishes were grilled tuna; swordfish with lemon sauce and roasted lamb shank: ALL ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!
Host was very welcoming. Service was great. Fish was amazing and fresh. Great Greek spot in south beach.
Nice place, delicious food, attentive service. I had an octopus, very delicious, highly recommended. My friend had a crab tail, loved it too. We definitely will be back when in the area.
Great food and great service.
The best Greek food I've ever eaten. There was a freshness and simplicity in every dish yet unbelievably tasteful. You could taste the great quality of the food. They brought us complimentary pita bread with what seemed to be a very creamy cheese and balsamic glaze that was so mind blowing we could've made that our entire meal. Once I tasted my grilled octopus, I think I became a permanent customer. Best I've ever had, hands down.
Great service and food! The music made it hip and fun. Would come back again.
Where do they get those tomatoes. The most fresh salad I have ever had. Good retsina.
Everything was great! The only downside was we had gone with the intent on ordering the Red snapper for two but sadly they had sold out. We ordered the filet and the Sea bass both of which were excellent in taste and preparation.
Overall, very enjoyable and delicious Greek cuisine. The gentleman greeting at the door knew it was us (last reservations of the night) and were seated immediately. The complimentary pita with toppings was so fresh and tasty it becomes addictive.
As Greeks tend to do, portions are large so appetizers can easily be split by two people. Spanakopita was fresh, flaky and tasty. My wife enjoyed the flambéed/fried Saganoki. The braised leg of lamb (lamb shank) literally was falling off the bone, tender and tasty.
Great authentic greek food in the heart of South Beach. We had a very well prepared squid, and an amazing seafood risotto. Service was fast and friendly. Deserts were really good! My favorite was galaktobureko!
The food here exceeded expectations - fresh, authentic and pleasing in every way. The service was extremely slow, especially initially, but the concerned owner came by and offered us delightful pita bread (with olives and herbs and oil) and helped us choose a delightful Greek wine. He saved the experience and we enjoyed our evening. Would recommend to anyone!
The service was excellent! My salmon had to be cooked more, but so so typical of ordering salmon anywhwere. Definitely save room for desert, especially the chocolate cake! Delicous. The salad was very large, great to share or have as a main dish. However, the figs were dried out, asparagus was left out and all the other goodies sank to the bottom. Also the dressing had a strong yogurt taste, not much seasoning. We should have told the server. Anyway, I do recommend this restaurant in a good location. We'll be back.
Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious, would definitely recommend
The food and service are amazing!
Don't EVER go there for NYE!!! Our NYE was ruined by a drunk who took up a Table for 4 and ordered food he didn't remember ordering and ate like a Neanderthal. We did NOT order the extensive
5 course meals we had planned, like the beautiful Orata etc because we couldn't wait to eat and leave. We made an excuse as small eaters and tried to leave but the owner clearly saw the problem and brought baklava as an apology. We left as soon as we could and went to another restaurant to cele rate the rest of our NYE evening. A well planned evening gone sour. Food wasn't worth the drive anyway...Ouzo Bay is MUCH better!!!!
A divine dining experience with literally our best Bronzino ever.
Excellent food and wonderful service.
What a thrill to not only meet Chef Demetrius, but to also have him debone my perfectly prepared fish. Everything was exceptional. Many thanks for a fabulous birthday dinner 🙏🏼
Dimitri was super nice and inviting! Staff was prompt and professional.
The food is amazing and the service phenomenal . It was the best Greek food we had in Miami
Went here for my birthday meal. We started with the Octopus, which was served on a bed of beans with a mustardy dressing. We liked the Octopus, but the beans and dressing wasn't that great!
For our main course I had the lamb shank. The lamb shank was huge & cooked beautifully. I also had a side of fries which were also excellent.
And because of the lack of vegetarian options, my wife had the spinach pie and the fried squid. The squid was good, but wished they had a grilled option. My wife wasn't impressed with spinach pie, but I kind of liked it.
Over all, it was a pretty good meal, with good service. Although a little on the pricey side.
I'd say it was more Greek'ish, than Greek, but still liked it.
I will recommend. It is a authentic Greek restaurant and the food is fresh and very delicious. We will definitely come back
The grilled octopus was amazing
Awesome food! Definitely try the octopus. It's delicious.
Excellent food combinations. Perfectly picked ingredients. Loved the athmosphe!
Absolutely fantastic food. You want to dine outside away from the noise this is the place to go.
Great place and authentic greek food. Love the Moussaka and the octopus. The service was very good, courteous. warm and efficient. I would go back if in the area
Yoghurt was old. Had to be remade. Meat and fish excellent. Greek salad was with breadcrumbs though gglutein-free diet asked. No value for money.
First off - the food was fantastic. Amazingly fresh and delicious.
We had a nice table outside. The only complaint was that the plates were a little too big for the tables.
It’s a bit pricey, but the quality is excellent.
Delicious seafood, good wine. Friendly welcome, cozy seating outside in the candle-light. However, serving was not well sequenced. One person got the warm starter early, the second - late. And then the warm main course arrived on the table, when the second starter was not yet finished. No excuse.
Food was delicious and service was outstanding
Good food and service.
Out of 5 dinners while vacationing here in March I loved this one the most! The food and service were great. I highly recommend!
Food was great - Greek / seafood - Had a whole sea bass, deboned and prepped tableside by our waitress who was from Greece. She told us about dishes that were from her island. There was a belly dancer entertaining the guests. Grilled shrimp were huge and well cooked. Great times!
We really enjoyed the artichokes with feta appetizer, which I recommend. The Greek salad was underwhelming - just tomatoes, feta and a few thinly sliced cucumbers for $16! The whole fish was fresh and tasty, but very pricey and not very special. The kale that was underneath it was under-cooked. The baklava was superb, but again a small serving for the price. I would have preferred a larger slice and less ice cream.
Our server was very charming and helpful, but the kitchen cooked our fish too early and we were not finished with our appetizers before the main course arrived. We were not being overly slow in eating because we had to make a curtain later that evening. I had to wave them off twice from taking our plates before we were through with our appetizers. (Our waiter graciously apologized but the damage was done).
Poseidon was our 5th and last night in SoBe, and all 4 of the other restaurants were better. It's not just about price because one of them (A fish Called Avalon) was just as expensive but it was a far better value.
Found this gem on opentable during a trip to Miami. Extremely authentic. We started with the octopus which is tough to cook and they did a beautiful job. It cut like butter and the chickpea sauce underneath was absolutely delightful. Entrees were superb. The owner graciously brought out a desert and it was delicious. Portion sizes were properly priced as well as the wine selection. Will definitely be gong back on my next visit.
Delicious Greek food! Best Greek Salad I’ve ever had!
Amazing restaurant! Great food, great service, nice atmosphere, food presentation was excellent! We're greek and we were very impressed with everything! Especially the bougatsa. It was the best we've ever had. (Don't tell my mother in law:)
