About Poseidon Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge
Fine Hellenic Seafood Cuisine.
At Poseidon Greek Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge, the chefs follow Hippocrates recommendation that "food be thy medicine," by crafting healthy dishes rather than making popsicles from cough syrup. He sprinkle their recipes with krocus kozanis, a golden Greek spice, and infuses meals with oregano, rosemary, and thyme culled from the Taygetos Mountain of Kalamata. They also import fresh fish from the Aegean Sea before brushing salmon with extra virgin olive oil and tossing pasta with a medley of shellfish. Slick white tables and cool blue walls recall a refreshing day spent among the blue and white abodes lining the Greek shores of the Mediterranean.

Poseidon Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Came here with 3 kids and had a great meal. The gratuity is included but the server pointed it out when he gave us the bill, which we appreciated. There are no kids menus but the kids ordered appetizers and they made something smaller for us also. Excellent prompt service, really great food, some fun new Greek beers to try and overall we had a wonderful time!
My wife and I enjoyed the seafood risotto for two. Very well prepared and sufficient in size. Dessert was baklava. We sat outside and service was attentive. I'd definitely consider dining here again. One caution is that the tip is included in the bill. I'm not a fan of that practice, especially since it wasn't pointed out ahead of time.
This place is the worse Greek meal we ever had. We greek cheese was old, the calamari was grassy and the lobter was served pretty much raw. Besides is way too expensive for que quality of the food ($19 for an octopus apetizer with literally 1 medium size leg of octopus). Stay away from this place and spend your money in any other of the amazing seafood restaurants in Miami.
It was an awesome experience. I cannot rave enough about their food. We had calamarj, squid and artichoke for appetizers, everything was great. We then each had seafood pasta, leg of lamb, fried fishes, lamb chops and while lobster for dinner and each one tasted amazing. We were seated inside because it was hot outside but their service was impeccable and attentive.
To say we fell in love with this restaurant and our server is a major understatement. We went to dine here on our anniversary weekend and just had the absolute best experience. The people who own this place are kind and big hearted and the food was so fresh. I can still taste those tomatoes in the Greek salad. Go, I can tell you we have been to the fanciest places in South Beach.. a lot of them can't compete.
Decided to try this restaurant based on the good reviews. Outdoor seating was protected by some plants so it was nice to have a little privacy. It was good food but I think we had our expectations a little too high. A little expensive for the value of the food.
En route back home from a trip out of the country, my friend and I were staying at a hotel near the Miami airport and wanted to walk around South Beach and have dinner. Poseidon's write up was attractive and off we went via Uber, about 20 minute ride. When we got out of the car I was a bit put off. There was a small outdoor section off the sidewalk with a restaurant staff member trying to solicit diners. We walked around the neighborhood thinking we might find another restaurant, but we didn't and I'm glad. The menu had a wide array of small and big plates. We chose three appetizers and the Aphrodite salad. The spinach pie was delicious as was the shrimp dish. The sampling dish with hummus, and three other choices was good, but not as special as the other dishes. The house wine was fine. The restaurant served us Ouzo when we got there along with a bread and bruchetta/feta cheese type of appetizer. It was excellent. They gave us another drink after we finished eating. The staff was attentive, efficient and most pleasant. All in all it was a great dining experience.
Absolutely fit for foodies and a hidden gem in South Beach. Highly recommend the branzino with olive oil and capers. Wine menu is mostly Greek whites but more than good enough to compliment the food. The exterior is a little deceiving, plain even but the interior feels open and warm and certainly evokes an image of a water side cafe in Santorini as a counterpoint. We were warmly greeted by the host and Costas , our server, was authentic and warm as he walked us through various options and choices. Definitely on our short list to visit again.
Beautiful, delicious meal. We ordered a funky bottle of wine and our server took it back without hesitation. The leg of lamb, bransino and Greek salad were beyond delicious and our server fantastic. Highly recommend! (Really wonderful baklava and fresh Greek yogurt, too!)
The dinner began with such promise, we were greeted with fresh bread and a shot of Ouzo, our appetizers of mussels and flaming cheese was excellent, after which the restaurant seemed to lose interest in us. Our main course moussaka, was delivered with the appetizers so it sat and got cold. It was supposed to be freshly made, yet it tasted frozen. Our server shifted her attention to a neighboring table that appeared to be building a bigger check than ours and we were ignored. The manager too seemed disinterested in us. All in all a very disappointing dining experience. For the same amount of money there are better alternatives in South Beach.
This was one of the best Greek meals we have had in a long time! The portions were plentiful and full of flavor. We had the flaming cheese appetizer and the traditional Greek Salad to begin, followed by Leg of Lamb and a Seafood Pasta, sharing a side of spinach sautéed in feta. For dessert, we shared a baked custard dish, accompanied by some ouzo! What made this experience additionally memorable was the friendly and attentive care provided by our server Alex who made wonderful suggestions and checked back frequently to ensure that all was well. Highly recommended!
From the time you walk in, you will notice the difference in attitude. These people love what they do and it shows in everything- the food, the atmosphere, and certainly the service. Alexandra was one of the best servers we had had in a long time. We had flaming cheese and the seafood risotto for 2. Excellent. Highly recommmend
Every time we come to Miami, we must go to this restaurant. The food is great authentic greek food.We had the entrees, the Greek salad, the sea bass( one portion was big enough for two )a bottle of white wine( Greek of course) and for desert the Greek youghort with honey , figs and walnuts. Delicious. The service was also excellent from the minute we came in ( we got a complementary glass of ouzo , one for me and one for my husband) until we left. Everyone was very friendly. We will certainly be back.
This was a simply amazing dinner! Dinner started with complimentary ouzo and a version of bruschetta with grilled bread - wow. Service was spectacular and the food was tremendous. We couldn't believe how great this dinner was, and they were so nice to our daughter (who had a pasta marinara so delicious, whoa!). Definitely visit this place!
When looking up best scallops in SoBe this place popped up...by far... The BEST Scallops I've ever had. And I've had them from coast to coast. Great atmosphere, amazing staff, Alex our server was fabulous, and the very considerate owner....He even bought us shots after dessert! You can't beat that! The bar atmosphere was over the top too. Def a great place to stop by and try.
First time diners at this restaurant. My wife and I really enjoyed it.
Food was outstanding. We ordered the flaming cheese (yummy) and their "award-winning" grilled octopus, which was amazingly good. For entrees, my wife had the vegetarian moussaka while I ordered a chicken kebab meal that came with rice. I finished it all.
Service was spot-on. We dined around 7pm on a Saturday and did not have to wait for anything. In fact, the staff anticipated our needs throughout the evening, topping up water, checking that all was okay, etc.
When next in Miami, we will return here again.
Six of us got together and shared appetizers, a platter, a Greek Salad, and Spinach Pie. For main courses we had Moussaka, Grilled Whole Sea Bream (filleted tableside) and Lamb Shank.
We were very happy with the quality of the food and the spirit of the staff in making sure we were having a nice time. All agreed, it was a nice time and we'll back again, and again.
Overall it wasn't bad, but also wasn't great. The biggest thing was the menu pricing here on open table did not match the menu at all. Service was good and quality of food was good though. Would go back, but probably not something I would go out of my way for.
Very tasty food, fresh and plentiful. The salads are excellent. I ordered a plate of tarama and pita bread, with a side of Greek fried potatoes, delicious. Wine list is varied, but we stuck to California wines, since I have little knowledge of Greek wines. The waiter offered to help with the wines from Greece, but we declined. Traditional Greek dishes are well-prepared and very good.
