About Poseidon Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge
Fine Hellenic Seafood Cuisine.
At Poseidon Greek Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge, the chefs follow Hippocrates recommendation that "food be thy medicine," by crafting healthy dishes rather than making popsicles from cough syrup. He sprinkle their recipes with krocus kozanis, a golden Greek spice, and infuses meals with oregano, rosemary, and thyme culled from the Taygetos Mountain of Kalamata. They also import fresh fish from the Aegean Sea before brushing salmon with extra virgin olive oil and tossing pasta with a medley of shellfish. Slick white tables and cool blue walls recall a refreshing day spent among the blue and white abodes lining the Greek shores of the Mediterranean.

Poseidon Restaurant & Outdoor Lounge Ratings and Reviews
I wanted to love this restaurant, and things started quite well as the mussels I ordered as a starter were delicious! however, I was only halfway through eating them when my main course was delivered to my table by a waitress who just put it down and walked away. I felt under some pressure then to finish my starter and move onto my main before it got cold. I'd ordered swordfish as a main and it was tasty but the potatoes it came with were disalpointing - both fry and oily at the same time. Similar the orange cake I had for dessert was quite ordinary and tasted like a pre-packaged sponge I could have got at Walgreens. I was offered tea, and requested Earl Grey, but was told they had run out, so I chose another flavour from the range of teabags on offer.
The total bill came to $103 for 3 courses, for 1 person, with 1 glass of house wine, with a 20% service fee included. I paid, but I really don't feel that the service I got was worth the prices charged here. Perhaps that's why the place was almost entirely empty.
We had a lovely dinner with very good service - especially loved the Mediterranean dip appetizer and the grilled shrimp. Stuffed calamari was very chewy and we thought the prices were high, although since we were just passing through for a night, maybe that's typical for Miami!
Came here with 3 kids and had a great meal. The gratuity is included but the server pointed it out when he gave us the bill, which we appreciated. There are no kids menus but the kids ordered appetizers and they made something smaller for us also. Excellent prompt service, really great food, some fun new Greek beers to try and overall we had a wonderful time!
My wife and I enjoyed the seafood risotto for two. Very well prepared and sufficient in size. Dessert was baklava. We sat outside and service was attentive. I'd definitely consider dining here again. One caution is that the tip is included in the bill. I'm not a fan of that practice, especially since it wasn't pointed out ahead of time.
This place is the worse Greek meal we ever had. We greek cheese was old, the calamari was grassy and the lobter was served pretty much raw. Besides is way too expensive for que quality of the food ($19 for an octopus apetizer with literally 1 medium size leg of octopus). Stay away from this place and spend your money in any other of the amazing seafood restaurants in Miami.
It was an awesome experience. I cannot rave enough about their food. We had calamarj, squid and artichoke for appetizers, everything was great. We then each had seafood pasta, leg of lamb, fried fishes, lamb chops and while lobster for dinner and each one tasted amazing. We were seated inside because it was hot outside but their service was impeccable and attentive.
To say we fell in love with this restaurant and our server is a major understatement. We went to dine here on our anniversary weekend and just had the absolute best experience. The people who own this place are kind and big hearted and the food was so fresh. I can still taste those tomatoes in the Greek salad. Go, I can tell you we have been to the fanciest places in South Beach.. a lot of them can't compete.
Decided to try this restaurant based on the good reviews. Outdoor seating was protected by some plants so it was nice to have a little privacy. It was good food but I think we had our expectations a little too high. A little expensive for the value of the food.
En route back home from a trip out of the country, my friend and I were staying at a hotel near the Miami airport and wanted to walk around South Beach and have dinner. Poseidon's write up was attractive and off we went via Uber, about 20 minute ride. When we got out of the car I was a bit put off. There was a small outdoor section off the sidewalk with a restaurant staff member trying to solicit diners. We walked around the neighborhood thinking we might find another restaurant, but we didn't and I'm glad. The menu had a wide array of small and big plates. We chose three appetizers and the Aphrodite salad. The spinach pie was delicious as was the shrimp dish. The sampling dish with hummus, and three other choices was good, but not as special as the other dishes. The house wine was fine. The restaurant served us Ouzo when we got there along with a bread and bruchetta/feta cheese type of appetizer. It was excellent. They gave us another drink after we finished eating. The staff was attentive, efficient and most pleasant. All in all it was a great dining experience.
Absolutely fit for foodies and a hidden gem in South Beach. Highly recommend the branzino with olive oil and capers. Wine menu is mostly Greek whites but more than good enough to compliment the food. The exterior is a little deceiving, plain even but the interior feels open and warm and certainly evokes an image of a water side cafe in Santorini as a counterpoint. We were warmly greeted by the host and Costas , our server, was authentic and warm as he walked us through various options and choices. Definitely on our short list to visit again.
Beautiful, delicious meal. We ordered a funky bottle of wine and our server took it back without hesitation. The leg of lamb, bransino and Greek salad were beyond delicious and our server fantastic. Highly recommend! (Really wonderful baklava and fresh Greek yogurt, too!)
