The food was delicious. Our server was excellent and courteous and his recommendation was spot on! Because of the construction at Ports O' Call and road closure we had a little problem getting into the parking area.
We were unimpressed with the flavor and quality of food we ordered. We ordered off the brunch menu. The bread for the filet mignon sandwich was hard as a rock and the clam chowder was salty. I have to say we were pretty disappointed. We loved the scenic views and servic,e but the food just ruined the experience.
BRUNCH REVIEW ONLY
Many, many buffet food selections, all outstanding.
Service extremely attentive.
View spectacular
Cheap Champagne.
All of the beer battered fried foods for gray and over battered, and all of the sushi dishes were placed at the salad barwhere people had to reach over them to get to other food. The decor was very dated for the price and type of restaurant.
Service was great. The swordfish not so ,much. In fact that was my complaint it was very small portion. Not a good value .
Excellent service, food & experience! We plan to go regularly now!
As always, great food and service!
More old school type of food and atmosphere.
Server and the food were all good. View of the LA Harbor main channel is cool.
The food was bland and overpriced.
Their fried shrimp and chips are delicious. The shrimp in particular is very meaty and juicy! We had a window seat on a breezy sunny day and the view was stunning.
Always love Ports O Call Restaurant. Hoping it stays open as promised through the port renovations. It's our "go-to" favorite place. Consistently has great service and food.
I’ve always enjoyed their Sunday Brunch. Very good champagne service. However they recently raised their price quite a bit and I don’t think it is worth $49.95 per person. I also think the quality decreased some since the last time I visited.
We have been coming to Ports O Call for over 40 years. They have consistently very good food and excellent service. We love to sit and watch the boats and ships go by.
Cute waterfront restaurant! Waitress sis t smile and was quite in a rush even though it was not busy. She was very short and did not like to make recommendations. The food was just ok, nothing stood out as spectacular.
What an enjoyable evening with really great food! Our wait on Valentines Day was no issue at all, the view of the water and the jazz band were icing on the cake.
This was our third time dining here... The food and ambiance were great! It was Valentine's Day, and they had a special menu! The value for the special Valentine's menu was excellent! We Look forward to our next visit....
A bit disorganized due to nearby construction, but follow the signs for Ports O'Call Village and you will get there. Great quiet waterfront dining experience, sometimes giant ocean liners and cruise ships go right by the windows. Salmon was done just like I like it. Lots of space, especially outdoors. Nice bar. Boarded-up buildings all around, under major renovation, not much walking, no shopping. Too-loud Latino restaurant with bad food and bad music not far away, ignore it. Ports O'Call restaurant is quiet.
Was a great place to eat. Amazing atmosphere and overlooks the water. Prices are a bit high.
Food & service was outstanding! Would definitely eat here again and refer to friends!
Totally going back again and AGAIN!! The Sunday Brunch is simply AMAZING! Endless mimosas, so many food choices and the omelette was so divine. Did I mention the view yet? Because the view is over looking the gorgeous water, so bring a sweater because it can be a bit chilly. The waiters and waitresses were just so nice and the host as well. They even gave us complimentary whale watching tickets which is what we wanted to do in the first place! So I was so thankful for that! Go support this place it's amazing! Worth every penny!
Had the shrimp po boy during dine la and it was great with a great value at 20 for a meal by the ocean
very friendly servers; love the food selections. very ample servings. great view of the water
would definitely go back again
Food was delicious and service was nice, but rushed. We had a 7:30 reservation on a night they closed at 8:30 and were rushed through our meal. We went during dineLA and were sat without the dineLA menu so when our server came to take our drink order, we asked for it. Immediately upon returning with the menu she asked for our drink order again. The dineLA menu included drinks but we didn't have a chance to look at it yet. I was still eating my entree when they brought out the dessert and since I didn't want my ice cream to melt, I packed up my meal.
I just wished instead of rushing us through our meal, they just didn't take reservations that "close" to closing.
It's not a "fancy" place but the food and ambiance definitely creates a bit of fine dining feel. People should at least be given 90 minutes to enjoy a 3 course meal.
Always a lovely time and a very affordable price for brunch. They should have more vegetarian options.
My husband and I had such an amazing time. This was our first visit as I always wanted to go and after my first experience I will be going back. Great service, great food and great scenery!
Place needs to be remodeled. Otherwise, the food was great. Service was awesome. Value outstanding. The view of the water and ships/boats passing is relaxing and interesting. Simply outstanding. And not very crowded. Was a hotspot 35 years ago when I proposed to my wife here, but without any building or even cosmetic improvements, this place has been forgotten by most. Nonetheless, definitely a hidden gem.
Excellent food, service and location. Good value too!
Wonderful New Year Eve Dinner, We will dine there again.
One of the best brunch buffets in California !! Outstanding customer service , fresh food every round , endless champagne , still thinking about my meal hours later 😋
Service was good and very tentative to our needs.
The food is normally very good. But today my lobster was super dry and had no flavor.
The food was solid but way overpriced. The service was very friendly and attentive.
The only other thing to make it perfect would be oysters on the half shell
Maybe instead of crab legs if that would be possible?

The food was delicious -- I had the blackened salmon, my husband had scallops. And my red wine was a nice big size! Dinner by the window, looking at the harbor was great.
Just one piece of opinionated advice: the bread pudding could lose the chocolate sauce. Definitely not New Orleans style. Exchange the chocolate for a nice bourbon sauce!
I have been coming to Ports O' Call since the 1960s and it was a real treat to be back. Keep this restaurant!!!!!!!
Awesome staff awesome service. The restaurant manager is exceptional . Great experience
Ports O Call is a wonderful, classic San Pedro place. There are so many great things about it , the view, the patio, the variety of seating options that also include bar and dining room, regular dining room with enormous happy hour. The view, the mix of locals, the happy hour, the diverse menu, lots of beer/wine/cocktails. I do think the food is a little overpriced for what it is; there is definitely a seafood/finer dining quality to the menu, but I find some of the items lacking just a wee bit in terms of preparation, taste. The portions are not always consistent - for instance I ordered linguine with scallops - which was delicious, but there were four scallops smallish size scallops and a mountain of linguine. I've had the salmon, short rib, those were good. I like that they offer fish preparation a variety of ways. The appetizers are good (though I would prefer another option besides tri-color tortilla chips for dips and such), salads, burgers; I find this mostly an occasional issue with dinner entrees. It's a great place to sit, you can enjoy complimentary music, the patio has heaters/fire pit; from the bar seating you can get window views, but this area is noisier and has a lot of TVs; or choose the dining room upstairs. I think the kitchen could use just a little more polish in prep, but I love this place, always bring people!
Perfect location and ambiance for a get together with friends. The service and view were excellent!! The food was outstanding! We had the self serve salad bar and there were a large selection of items and everything was fresh! I highly recommend this quaint and historic restaurant!!
There is a Reason why this neighborhood gem has been around since 1961! Love coming here and bringing friends who haven't ventured to San Pedro for a dining adventure.
Food, wine, drinks, servers, ambience, all A plus.
Brunch at Ports O'Call Restaurant is always good. But our waiter, Jacob, made brunch great!
