Wonderful restaurant with a great drink and food selection.
Port of Call has been a San Pedro, CA gem for almost 60 years. Too bad waterfront development is planning to close it down. We'll miss great gathering place.
Was not acceptable. The Clam Chowder was made that hour, I think, as you tasted a lot of flour. Had a lot of clams, potatoes but broth was not good. All three of the adults I was with had some and none of them liked it. My husband and grandson had the calamari and they were over cooked, my husband and I ate his. We asked for a doggy bag for our grandsons, but he threw it out after we left. I think they should go ahead and shut down.
Rose was a fantastic server and we had a great time . The harbor activity was mesmerizing. I highly recommend it!!
John was our waiter. He was very nice and attentive to our needs. I was on a first date and John made sure everything went very smooth!
Great food and outstanding service!!
Hostess was extremely rude. Puts a bad taste in your mouth when that’s the first thing you encounter. We had a reservation and said that right away. She asked us if we wanted to sit outside or in. We said outside. She then tells us reservations have to sit inside. Ummmm okay? Why even ask then?! Why not just seat us at a table if we have a reservation. Loud obnoxious group using terrible language 1 foot behind us. Tables are overcrowded. Who wants to listen to a bunch of 70 year olds talk about their sexcapades that close to you. Food was great though, and the view was nice.
Fun spot on the water! Lots of activity. Stopped in on our way to catch the ferry to Catalina. Really enjoyed the Fish Tacos, service was super.
We celebrated Father’s Day and Favi gave us the best service. We love coming here.
It was nice and quiet. Good food and good service
Drove by and the appearance was disappointing - looked like the alleyway and not inviting. Decided not to take a chance and went to 22 street because ...mainly outside appearances.
Fabulous Sunday Brunch, except for the cheap Wycliff champagne. Great food, service and ambience though!
It was very a little to expensive for the small portions. Food was not that great either. I left disappointed it was not was I expected. I did love the ocean view only.
Reservation at 7:30 p
Out of Clam Chowder and fried whole fish. Out of Clam Chowder? Really!
Ports O Call restaurant is at a wonderful location. You are dining with an awesome view of the main channel of the Port of Los Angeles. As you are having a good time, a huge cargo ship may pass by or you see seals swimming by. The food is excellent and the service is very friendly. I totally recommend the experience.
Excellent service!, from the server (a thin, young man - sorry I don't remember his name) who poured our mimosas) to the server (blonde woman, I believe; again I'm embarrassed I didn't catch her name) who manned the dessert table, gave directions and offered us cool, clean plates, to the pleasant, smiling meat carvers, pancake makers and omelet makers. Even the woman-in-waiting in the bathroom (though she spoke too loudly, and entirely in Spanish, on her mobile phone) tended to the guests every need. The food was not as tasty as I expected, the dining hall was much too far from the seating area, and both the interior and exterior could use remodeling, but otherwise my friend and I enjoyed our (slightly overpriced) brunch.
Excellent all the way around!
Had an amazing experience with a beautiful view. Marc made us want to stay longer with his funny personality. He was very attentive and made sure we took advantage of our bottomless mimosas. We will definitely be back because of him.
Took my wife for dinner and we had a table up front next to the ocean. It was very nice and food was great.
The last time I came to Ports O Call it was years ago with my late husband to celebrate our anniversary. I recently brought my daughters who loved it as much as I remembered it! The food was as good as ever and it felt good and calm to dine while overlooking the water.
The absolute worst service of our lives. The waitress was rude and argumentative and the manager took no responsibility for the failings of his staff. They have no idea how to cook bef. Seafood was ok.
The table area had food on the floor. I ordered a "file" for 30 plus $$ which was not a file and tasted disgusting. It was sadly enough a joke. Very disappointed, we came here 24 years ago with 25 plus people for lunch on our wedding day. This time around we wanted to relief tat moment and celebrate my 60th. Ports a call is not even close to what it used to be, what a shame. USS Iowa worth the visit, thumbs up on that one.
My reservations were for Sunday's Brunch 5/20/2018 for 4 people. We arrived at 9am in time for our seating. The food was Great and the waiter was excellent. There was plenty of food, and prepared good. But we noticed that mostly all of the food warmers with the lids closed, did not have a tag stating what was in the warmer, you had to open the lid to see what was inside, and rather you wanted that food item or not. Other than that everything was Great. I was sad to hear that Port O Call will be Closing Real Soon for good.
Beautiful oceanfront setting with a great selection of all types of delicious food.
Overall the restaurant was great. There were amazing views of the water. Food was yummy and service was prompt. The menu was slightly more than what I would have considered paying, but I suppose that is also because the restaurant is on the water. Would definitely return!
Service could’ve been a lot better. Staff could barely speak English. Huge variety of food to choose from.
I took my mom for Mother's day. Great View, lots of great selection of food and the mimosas were flowing, the family and I had a wonderful time. I will visit again.
We enjoyed the evening and dinner as well as the drinks.
However as the evening continued to noise level was very loud. So loud we decided to leave.
We love you POC!
If you like ketchup with chili sauce in it —-my kids complained!
If you like to hear all the hip hop music from the banquet room
If you like to inform the staff when you make the reservation that this dinner is a birthday and have nothing done for it
If you like $40 steaks
This is your place!
Just a beautiful view of LA Harbor great service and reasonable prices!
The food is average but the view at the patio is great. ( Inside feels a little outdated and dark) My 4 yr old boy enjoyed watching the ships/boats go by and sat quietly through the entire meal so i'll say it's kid friendly!
nice setting near the cruise ship terminal, good place for pre-cruise meal, service mediocre, food quality only average, would not recommend going out of your way to dine here
Given major road construction in the area the restaurant was difficult to find even with GPS. It was not very crowded yet the service was particularly slow. We were there for lunch but there wasn't much of a lunch menu. The food was good and the staff courteous. Not the greatest waterfront view but OK for a port location.
The food was delicious. Our server was excellent and courteous and his recommendation was spot on! Because of the construction at Ports O' Call and road closure we had a little problem getting into the parking area.
We were unimpressed with the flavor and quality of food we ordered. We ordered off the brunch menu. The bread for the filet mignon sandwich was hard as a rock and the clam chowder was salty. I have to say we were pretty disappointed. We loved the scenic views and servic,e but the food just ruined the experience.
BRUNCH REVIEW ONLY
Many, many buffet food selections, all outstanding.
Service extremely attentive.
All of the beer battered fried foods for gray and over battered, and all of the sushi dishes were placed at the salad barwhere people had to reach over them to get to other food. The decor was very dated for the price and type of restaurant.
Service was great. The swordfish not so ,much. In fact that was my complaint it was very small portion. Not a good value .
Excellent service, food & experience! We plan to go regularly now!
