Always great food, friendly service and wonderful atmosphere.
Took a while to get a server to our table. Very noisy family that let their kids run around their table, scream/laugh loudly to the point we couldn’t not hear each other at all until they left. Would’ve appreciated staff nicely asking the adults at the table to intervene or take kids outside.
Ridiculously overpriced food ($19 for a tiny chicken Caesar salad or $12 for a side of Brussels sprouts or $9 for a small bowl of soup) and a Waiter who could not remember the order in which we wanted our dishes.
The food quality has steadily gotten worse ever since the new menu with hundreds of options was introduced. Even the wine from the reserve list last night was of poor quality.
Menu not vegetarian friendly but can ask for anything to be modified. Pasta dishes on salty side but homemade pasta well made. Omelette dishes value not better than diner quality. Friendly wait staff once we ordered but initially impatient. Mother’s Day brunch we sat outside view is of the market across the way.
What a find! Excellent food! (the bolognaise sauce is the best I have had in years)
Pastas cooked perfectly.
Nice sitting outside with the beautiful view of the colorful produce across the way.
Can't wait to return!
As usual, great menu and superb service. Love the gluten-free choices especially.
We have gone there many times and the food and whole experience is always great.
My favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. I best food and service in a very pleasant atmosphere
Casual restaurant with 5 star food. Above average prices but well worth it.
Nice place to go on a Saturday night. Staff was very accommodating and service was excellent. A little disappointed with the food. Pasta was slightly under cooked so it was tough. Pizza crust was dry, sauce and toppings very good! Desert was very good also.
RIGATONI ALLA VODKA & LUMACHE CON PESTO E SALSICCIA are amazing. Highly recommend these items.
The Food and the service are both very good. Drawback is that the noise level is high ...too high to be ideal. Also, while the food is very well prepared, I consider the prices set at the top...it's pricey. Nonetheless a great place to eat, but only if noise level and cost is not a top priority.
lovely food, staff and other patrons... welcoming, all types of people come.. families, couples, work collegues just wonderful
I have dined at PK several times with a friend for lunch. It has been about six months since our last visit. We split the PK Cobb salad and two bowls of soup which is what we have done in the past. The soup was delicious and the salad was also good, but we both agreed that the salad was different from what we had received in the past. It seemed a lot smaller with less chicken. I would have thought it was just me, but when my friend said the same thing I figured I must not be imagining this.
I loved this restaurant. I met my friend for lunch to celebrate her birthday. It was the perfect spot. Definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to come again!
Good. Waiting experience average. Lamb was delicious but over cooked and one order was wrong. I love this place but tonight was not its finest
Always a great spot... loved it.. family friendly but business casual. Wide range of foods and the pizza and caprese salad was amazing.
The food is always delicious at Portola Kitchen. We were a little late for our reservation, but they were really nice about that. Noise level was a little much, but the quality of the food makes up for the noise level.
This is a good Italian restaurant for a very casual meal. The noise level is unpleasant and the
small tables for two are clumsy. Our antipasti calamari was inedible; like chewing rubber.
The Caesar salad was quite remote from anything resembling the flavor and freshness we are
The Entre Pasta was fantastic. Service outstanding.
We have been here several times and I think this dinner was our last. The waiter was unfriendly, to say the least. I'm certain he never spoke more than a few words and never once did he smile. The food was just ok, that is if lukewarm Gnocchi is ok. In addition, the table for 5 was really barely big enough for 4, with the "leaf" on the end extended. You had to be careful if you leaned on it to avoid tipping the entire table over. I noted on my open table reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, but no one at the restaurant even acknowledged it! We won't be going back
I love the food at this restaurant! Their homemade gnocchi is delicious and I also really liked my chicken Diavalo. They have a solid wine list and really nice selection of wines by the glass. Our server was also super friendly and attentive.
The food was very good Italian cuisine and carefully prepared. Ingredients were fresh and the menu had plenty of choices for everyone. It is a bit crowded and very noisy which is not a problem if you're looking for a vibrant and energetic restaurant with fairly closely spaced tables.
The food was amazingly delicious and the service was great!
Delicious Italian food and wine, outstanding service....looking forward to dining at Portola Kitchen again the next time we visit Portola Valley!
Always a nice outside table available. Great menus selections and in general the food is quite good. Service is attentive. Indoors very noisy, outdoors always delightful. Prices are on the high side, but this is Portola Valley, and one has to expect to pay more in this high rent area. Have eaten here many times and have never had a bad meal.
Great all around! Food was excellent! Server was excellent! Staff exceptional!
Parking is tricky but worth it for this restaurant that's tucked away in Portola Valley. Food is always excellent.
Great menu, service and neighborly atmosphere. Enjoyed!
Friendly, pleasant environment. Fairly quiet. Tasty food and great service. Good menu for all ages. Will return.
Food was fantastic! Everyone was happy with what they ordered. I will be going back.
Certain items on the menu at protolo kitchen are amazing! Osso bucco and other entree items are out of this world good!
Pastas left the pallet with a bit to be desired. Service actually had some negative things to say about his own menu items which was, odd.
Handcrafted custom drinks are phenomenal.
Portola Kitchen is casual and comfortable. If you sit outside, even in cold weather, sitting outside under the heat lamps is a charming and quiet environment.
Great place just outside the super crowded Palo Alto. Cozy, good wine list, very good Italian food.
Went with the whole family, very child friendlyC and my 84 yr old Dad said it was the best veal scallopini he’s ever had! Expensive but delicious.
Great food and service as usual. Good for gluten free.
Went either the family. Service was prompt and good.
This was our second visit to Portola Kitchen and the food was delicious. The service is always great and the atmosphere is lovely. The only complaint I have is that the ingredients in a pasta dish were not plentiful- it was basically a dish full of pasta, but I asked them to add more and they did.
Food was ok the staff were friendly
Nice menu selection and great service. Reasonable prices and corkage.
