We tried Portland Seafood Company as an alternative to a pricey restaurant on the Columbia we often go to when visiting Portland. The food at PSC was excellent and the service even better. The chowder is some of the best I've had and really good with the fresh sourdough provided--we all ordered a cup or bowl. We had fish and chips and one of our party had a Steelhead salad. Everyone felt the food was great and a good value.
We dined with two small kids and were made to feel very much at home. The kid's menu has good variety. Four adults (each with two drinks) and two kids and the total was $160 including a nice time for the great service.
Good food and service. Tables are close together and at peak times can be very loud. Great seafood selections.
Oysters on the half shell were big and delicious! I dined with my daughter. I got the shrimp and crab cakes & they were excellent. My daughter got halibut which was just okay. Be prepared for large portions.
Our waitress was outstanding and other staff members stopped by several times to check on us.
All in all, a pleasant experience!
Service was slow , had to remind waiter to bring bread and salad before main coarse, excuse was they were busy and backed up in the kitchen. Food was mediocre. Clams were tough, halibut was just average and side dish only slightly flavorful.
I will not return
Food was okay. Expected better based on other reviews and rankings. No complaints but nothing to brag about either.
It is very rare that I have ever given a bad review so please pay attention. We have been to this restaurant 3 times in a span of 3 or 4 years. There is always enough time passed to remember after we have been, why we do not go more often as it is less than 5 miles from our house. Service has always been slow each and every time. Had to always flag someone to fill my parties water glasses
This would have been fine except the food is nothing special and they are charging $24.00 for blah. This most recent time I had the paella. I love good paella , this was not. There wasn't even a hint of saffron flavor to the rice, which was bland. Also no fond or if you prefer the crispy rice from the bottom of the pan which tells me this was not even close to authentic paella and probably baked. The only saving grace was there was adequate seafood
The halibut was equally bland and forgettable. I think we have tried this place for the last time. After giving there menu, chefs and food ample tries to get things right. Each time we have gone we have ordered different items with the same results
service was excellent and the food was great the price is right
Not a very clean restaurant, food was average. Service was bland.
The food was delicious & the service was excellent. We really enjoyed our experience.
Good spot. Was around Washington Square mall and decided to drop in. It was 6pm on a Saturday- not busy at all. Did wait a little while for bread and our server served a larger table next to us (seated after us) their bread and told us we had to wait even though we had been there waiting for bread already.... other than that the drinks were good and so was the food and atmosphere. Got the steak and it was good- I've had better but it was good.
We went for our 11 year anniversary. I made 7 PM reservations. The put us right next to a table with a family. The kids were jumping on the benches. I went to request something more private and they put us in the seating area for events. We had the whole room to ourselves. They were extremely accommodating and the staff was amazing. We loved our waitress she was extremely friendly. Our drinks and food were amazing.
Shrimp and crab on Seafood salad had no flavor... not fresh frozen.
Not what I expected from a restaurant at The Mall. It was really excellent!
Food was excellent! My only issue was ambience but not a deal breaker.
Service was slow. Asked a few times for water. Food was good.
