Portland Seafood Co. - Washington Square Ratings and Reviews
Service was slow , had to remind waiter to bring bread and salad before main coarse, excuse was they were busy and backed up in the kitchen. Food was mediocre. Clams were tough, halibut was just average and side dish only slightly flavorful.
I will not return
It is very rare that I have ever given a bad review so please pay attention. We have been to this restaurant 3 times in a span of 3 or 4 years. There is always enough time passed to remember after we have been, why we do not go more often as it is less than 5 miles from our house. Service has always been slow each and every time. Had to always flag someone to fill my parties water glasses
This would have been fine except the food is nothing special and they are charging $24.00 for blah. This most recent time I had the paella. I love good paella , this was not. There wasn't even a hint of saffron flavor to the rice, which was bland. Also no fond or if you prefer the crispy rice from the bottom of the pan which tells me this was not even close to authentic paella and probably baked. The only saving grace was there was adequate seafood
The halibut was equally bland and forgettable. I think we have tried this place for the last time. After giving there menu, chefs and food ample tries to get things right. Each time we have gone we have ordered different items with the same results
Good spot. Was around Washington Square mall and decided to drop in. It was 6pm on a Saturday- not busy at all. Did wait a little while for bread and our server served a larger table next to us (seated after us) their bread and told us we had to wait even though we had been there waiting for bread already.... other than that the drinks were good and so was the food and atmosphere. Got the steak and it was good- I've had better but it was good.
We went for our 11 year anniversary. I made 7 PM reservations. The put us right next to a table with a family. The kids were jumping on the benches. I went to request something more private and they put us in the seating area for events. We had the whole room to ourselves. They were extremely accommodating and the staff was amazing. We loved our waitress she was extremely friendly. Our drinks and food were amazing.
Except for the mix up in our reservations being cancelled while were in the restaurant, we would like to thank Matt for getting this all straightened out for us.
Our bartender was awesome. Our drinks were prepared to our liking and our meals were wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our date.
We were visiting Portland with our young kids. This was the perfect place for them. The food was good, nothing amazing or fancy but we were aiming for a kid-friendly place. This fit the bill! Our waitress was super friendly and even offered substitutions for the kids meals when our kids silently scoffed at the veggie options (she offered them off the menu strawberries instead, which they loved!). Good value, decent food, super friendly staff and kid friendly!!
We were disappointed with the menu. Didn't offer crab leg plate or lobster plate without ordering meat with it. Our server didn't know how the food was prepared. He did bringbout a new serving of green beans since the first order had aoli on it which he didn't know. Server was good, not thrilled with menu or lack thereof.
We had seven in our party and the service was great. All the dishes we had were very good.
Kids had the oysters and said they were good quality
We had the sampler platter - the crab spinach dip was great.
My wife had the crab and shrimp louie and said it very good with a good portion of crab and a pile of shrimp.
The crab bucket was a great hit with my son.
Open table messed up, our reservation was supposed to be for the Mall 205 location which had no record that we had reserved a table. Luckily it happens a lot so they honored the reservation. The waitress was very nice and efficient. The food was good if not terribly exciting. It was a reasonable value.
There was 8 in our party. We had reservations on Mothers Day, we arrived almost an hour early. They quickly put a table together, we only waited a few minutes. Waitress was great, kitchen was a little slow because they were so busy. You have to expect that on Mothers Day. We sat in the sun room, it was quite and no passing people, bright with the windows. Calamari was so tender, Stuffed steelhead was amazing, and Key lime pie was delicious.
We have enjoyed the Portland Seafood Co on a number of occasions but this one was a bust. 50's rock music is not appropriate for conversation while dining.
The server had too many tables. His service was supplemented by a lady manager but there was little continuity to the service. Entrees were delivered while the soup/bread course dirty dishes were not removed.
Parmesan crusted Dover sole was "mushy soft" while roasted Brussel sprouts were so undercooked they were hard. No one checked back to see if our food was as ordered.
It was a disappointing experience.
Went here for the first time on Saturday. The menu was small not very many choices. On the restaurants website it stated that there was supposed to be a brunch to celebrate Mother's Day and no such brunch menu was offered. The food that we did order was hot and very tasty. However I will probably not be back due to the limited menu.
Fabulous seafood! We were seated quickly at the table I had requested. Our server took our beverage and lunch order and brought our drinks and bread. Food followed just as we had ordered! We had ordered two entrees and the split both for us which made us feel special! They have nice touches to improve your dining experience! Don't miss this restaurant and check out their daily specials!!
We usually go to Joe's Crab Shack when we want some good seafood but decided to try a different restaurant this time, I think we will stick with Joe's Crab Shack next time. We ordered two of the crab buckets, the food was good but the buckets were small and missing food (menu said prawns in the buckets but both buckets had no prawns). Total bill for a family of 5 was over $100!
Our visit started with our server who was in a hurry to go on break or something because it was rush rush rush - and then left. I had the open face crab melt - it was mostly mayonnaise and artichoke hearts. The fries are frozen.
The server practically threw our stuff on the table - a "drive by". My drink refill was incorrect. He was in a hurry to be paid and when the cards weren't in the folder he placed dirty dishes on it - which was a curious move because then we had to move the dirty dishes in order to pay. We never saw him after that.
This is my third visit and that's how many chances I'll give a place - but for here - it was two too many.
I was very disappointed in this restaurant. The ambiance is very blah. I know it's in a mall but it doesn't have to be so dull. The food was mediocre at best. The best part of the meal was the server who was very nice and professional.
I would never go back or recommend.
Eaten here before and still does not disappoint. Service is spot on and food came up quickly. Friendly staff (Manager never smiled even when dealing with customers, EVERYONE else did!) Tasty food, hot sour dough bread is fantastic, nice wine, meal was filling. We each had one of their specials, well worth the price. Will keep coming back!
