I love Portland Seafood for the wonderful service and great menu. You can always count on the quality to be consistent and the staff attentive and friendly. I wish you would add another restaurant in the Gresham area...so miss the one at Burnside and Powell Valley road.
I had reservations so we were seated right away. Our waitress was friendly , every ones food was very good except the steak, thin bland and not appetizing at all. The appetizers were really good and the seafood all very delicious. I am sorry I wanted to give you
guys a 10 but the steak killed it. I will go there again and again, just not for the steak.
Visiting Portland for the first time and based on ratings thought we would give this place a try as it was my fiancee's birthday. Food was very good and we were looking for Pacific Coast seafood and it did not disappoint. If in the area again, would definitely make another visit.
This has become one of our favorite restaurants. The food is delicious, desserts are yummy and everyone from the manager down are friendly and fun loving. We especially love Shane, our server. We have had him 3 times now and will request him in the future.
The Marion berry cobbler is to die for and my friend loves their key lime pie, which she has been very unhappy with in all other restaurants. Btw, the cole slaw is fantastic.
Clumsy service and for what you pay mediocre food for the most part. If you want fish and chips go to Rose and Thistle. Avoid the bargain priced shrimp cocktail. The bay shrimp are flavorless and the drenched in Kraft cocktail sauce. Ugh. The sourdough bread, chowder, and cioppino were quite tasty. They served the shrimp cocktails and soup at the same time. Servers need to learn how to fire an order. If you don’t know any better you’ll probably enjoy this place. For those who care about their seafood, go elsewhere.
Nice restaurant, good casual dining, food was well cooked, seasoning was excellent. I asked for my salmon well done and it was cooked to perfection, well done and still most. The waiter was great, had a nice personality and really helped manage the two year old at our table by getting kid orders fast. The pricing was a bit high for what was offered, but not outrageous. The only real downside were the vegetable sides. They tasted stale and almost artificial. Very weird flavor.
I got the prime rib dip and my wife got the seafood linguine. Both were delicious. Our server was fantastic, always there the moment we needed her but not overbearing at all. She was also super friendly and was very adept at her job. The restaurant is mostly booths which is nice and everyone was in the bar for happy hour so it was quiet. Prices were reasonable. Would eat there again.
Unfortunately, it was not the best I've had. The Halibut was extremely greasy and not as thick and flaky as it should be. My wife's (the birthday girl) open faced crab melt was a little too spicy and too much mayo? The focacia bread was also pretty hard to cute through and eat. We did like the spinach and crab dip appetizer. It was also appreciated the birthday dessert for my wife.
The surprise hit was the seasonal vegetable: green beans in a lemony dressing. Our fish was competent but not exceptional. This was our second visit and we think the food was better the first time. We had one of the specials in the bar area that time and were in the main restaurant this time.
Would not go back! Had a $50 gift card to use and this was one of the places on it. Should have chose a different one! I would not recommend. Waitress was friendly but did not check back to see how everything was, or we could have told her about the quality of the food. I had a 3 piece halibut fish and chips for $ 17.99 and the batter was horrible...limp and did not stick to the fish. Too much batter and not fried in hot enough oil? Side salad for 5 dollars was okay although you only got about 2 teaspoons of bay shrimp. Bread was the best item we got, nice and warm. Husband got seafood platter of halibut, shrimp, and oysters and was not impressed either. With one beer each, our total was over $56 and we left a nice tip. Not worth the price and we won't go back!
We had a very enjoyable evening and a delicious dinner at Portland Seafood Company on Saturday. The four of us each had a different entrée and all of us were pleased with our choices. The Oregon bay shrimp and crab cakes were very good, flavorful, nicely cooked and very moist inside, and the Columbia river steelhead was excellent, both smoked with fettucini and on its own with the seasonal vegetables and rice. We also loved that they serve 'glass and a half' portions of wine. (The wine selection itself is adequate, not great). We did not have dessert because we had a homemade birthday cake waiting at home.
Finally, we must compliment the service. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, polite and engaging. In particular our waitress Cynthia was superb: attentive, accommodating, funny to just the right degree and knowledgeable about the menu and preparation. We plan to request her next time we eat there, and we're already looking forward to it.
We waited nearly 30 minutes for our entrees. The restaurant wasn't crowded. When my food arrived, the seafood paella was burnt and very salty, the stuffed crab mushrooms did not have any crab, mainly cheese. I made reservations indicating it was a birthday celebration, they didn't acknowledge that. It was a big disappointment and the worst food. Don't be fooled by the good reviews, go somewhere else!!
Very good food, very friendly staff. We had a party of 7 and they could seat us at a comfortable table. There was a nice variety of selections for appetizers and entrees with a nice price range. They did forget to leave a sauce off the birthday girl's crab/shrimp cakes but she liked it after all. They offered to remake it but they gave her a card for a free appetizer since she decided to eat it anyway. They also brought her a dessert for her birthday.
Had an awesome server (Cynthia??) who was very friendly & attentive. Liked the variety on the menu & prices are very reasonable. Based on the crowd in the bar it's a popular restaurant with the locals. We found it on Open Table & were glad we tried it. Will go back next time we're in Portland.
Started off with strawberry lemonade and a nice clam chowder followed by some very delicious stuffed mushrooms. The main event was the Crab Louie. The crab was so sweet and a rather generous portion. The hot ginger peach crisp topped with vanilla ice cream completed a very lovely dinner. I’ll be back to try the Pineapple Glazed Pacific Northwest Halibut.
Our dinner was for a special occasion! My son was home from the East coast and we hadn't seen him in over a year. My second son and his fiance used this occasion to surprise us with their engagement announcement! We couldn't have chosen a better restaurant for our celebration. Food was great and not the usual "restaurant calorie dense food" often encountered. The entrees were unique and tasty. Shane R, our waiter, was great!!!!! He had an intuitive skill to appear when we were ready and to remain in the available background as we visited. Highly recommended.
There were 7 of us for a birthday lunch. The server asked if we were all there and we said we were waiting for one more. She left and didn't come back for quite a while. When she did, she asked if we wanted water, did not ask for a drink order and we asked if we could go ahead and order an appetizer. Left again, finally one of our party went to find her so we could order food.
The food is average, nothing special. When we needed to leave we flagged her down for our check, and then had to go find someone to take our credit cards. She was nowhere to be seen. It was not busy, many empty tables, so she wasn't being spread too thin.
The happy hour is much better, but I'm not sure we'll return.
Thought the clam chowder was very mediocre. Was informed that the kitchen had run out of (top sirloin) steak used for the Surf & Turf. The hamburger was a somewhat poor substitute - could have used more dressing/sauce. Wife REALLY enjoyed the pear salad and the Erath pinot gris wine. The steelhead was cooked perfectly. Felt cramped and hemmed in the corner. Prices were on a par with McCormick's but the atmosphere/ambiance/happy hour decidedly better @ McCormick & Schmick's.
