I was very dissatisfied with our experience. The lobster was horrible. The crab was overcooked to the point it was almost dry. They did replace the lobster and crab. I have to give them credit for that. However, the replacement lobster was no better than the first one. The crab was better, but not by much. On the other hand, the service was wonderful.
Our waitress Cynthia was wonderful! We went to celebrate my moms birthday, the food and our service was wonderful
My Japanese client had just flown in from Tokyo and wanted seafood. I found this place on the internet and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The wait-staff was fantastic and were extremely gracious to my client. The food and wine were great.
I had indicated on the Open Table reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. When we arrived, we had to wait for someone to come from the bar to greet us and set up our table. As we were being escorted to our table the employee who was leading us said "I see you're here for a birthday." That was the one and only time that anyone acknowledged that we were celebrating a special occasion - no one asked whose birthday it was or if we were celebrating anything special. What is the point of noting that you're celebrating something on the reservation if the restaurant barely takes notice of it? Near the end of our meal my grandson was eating the ice cream sundae that came with his meal and he made a point of thanking our waiter for his dessert. Our waiter didn't reply either of the two times that my grandson thanked him. He either didn't hear him or chose to ignore him - this was very disappointing to me.
On the other hand, my dinner of hazelnut crusted halibut was delicious and my husband greatly enjoyed his stuffed steel-head. The rest of our group enjoyed their food also.
So, I can recommend Portland Seafood Company for their food, but I cannot recommend them for their service.
Easter dinner with family
Best oyster shooters in Portland. Food was great and the server was very attentive.
Slow service. Second year in a row they "ran out" of my favorite bottled beer. I now doubt that they actually even keep it in stock but it stays on the menu. Probably won't return.
My husband and I went for a date night. Everything was wonderful as we had a small window of time to enjoy ourselves before picking up the kids from the sitter. We had the surf and turf, as well as the lobster and shrimp. Everything was delicious and our water and lemonade cups stayed full. We love getting a nice meal and attentive service.
This was our first visit, and we were greatly satisfied. Seated upon our arrival, and our waitress was very attentive. Food was very tasty, and the portion sizes were ample! Will definitely plan a return trip in the near future.
I have always loved the way they cook the seafood here. Just right- not over done. I was very disappointed this time. The waitress was very slow to come around. She must have left the food too long under the heat. My coho outer edge was stiff & hard to cut. Then to top it off, when she finally came around for me to pay, she charged someone else's ticket to my card! She took a real long time in between getting back to the table. She also forgot my to go box. I had to keep repeating everything to remind her. My friend said her food was cold so she wasn't satisfied. It still hasn't been rectified and I'm very leery to go back there! I feel unsafe.
Didn't check out the restaurant but the bar was a happening place.
It was very appealing and we had a soy allergy it was perfect.
A wonderful meal! We are still thinking about the coconut prawns! The best we have ever had!!
Our dinner was excellent, as usual. Our server was the best, and very attentive!
Even marginal food can be made better by a positive environment, unfortunately, our server was aloof from the get go, and made us feel rushed throughout the whole experience. We were there to meet some friends we hadn't seen in awhile, but even with the catching up we had to do and all, we were not abusive taking our time. In the end, he didn't even offered us dessert, and brought our check soon after picking up plates. He continued to make us feel as if he had a place to go and we were holding him up with the check. Eventually he probably gave up or left because we didn't see him at all after that, and his presence was not really missed. The food was ok. But the whole experience left us wishing for a lot more from our server if not the kitchen.
We had a delightful birthday dinner for my mother who turned 68 this year, there were six of us total. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious! Reasonably priced as well. This will be one of our go to restaurants from now on!
We were visiting Portland from Hawaii and wanted to find a place for seafood. There were menu options for our family; seafood & salad for the adults & pasta for the teenager. Staff were friendly & service was good. Will definitely stop by again during our next visit.
The portions are very generous which is why we shared the Surf & Turf meal. The pre-meal bread was warm and tasty!
This place is very consistent, friendly people and good waiters. The food is always good and fresh.
Great food, not bad pricing. Think Olive Garden/red lobster corporate level but in some ways better. Limited legroom in booths unfortunately. I live the chicken parm and chicken with andouille sausage. Partner loves the bucket. Great sourdough bread to start and great desserts! Also, good rewards program!
Reservations were made to celebrate a friends 72nd Birthday party. Nothing special happened and the waiter didn't even know we were celebrating a birthday until I paid my bill and mentioned it. It was than that he offered something. I felt rushed, when ordering appetizers the waiter left the table before I was able to finish what I was ordering because he was also waiting on other patrons. It was clear he was so busy he didnt' have time to hear what I was asking. Our appetizers came out separately and than our food was delivered on top of that. It was rushed and an unpleasant experience.
Joined friends and family for my birthday. It was a happy afternoon. Thank you for the food and fun.
Good food nice service
Food was way better then I thought it would be and the drinks were great too. And our waiter even gave my mom a free dessert for her birthday. I will definitely be back
We had a good lunch.....food was fresh and presented well.
Waitress was exemplary with service and not interrupting. The fish was well cooked and the round table great for 6 people to enjoy conversation. The wine list is good. Overall, very nice.
I’d never been to the Portland Seafood Company; so I was pleasantly surprised. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent!!!
This was our first time eating at this restaurant. The service was great and the food was nice(not fab!!) but ok. I did not however like the booth we where placed at. The area was right by a door to the lobby, and the seating was not comfortable at all. The space was way to small for four adults and there coats ect....to be comfortable.
I had fried razor clams that were soggy. never have experienced that before. I got very sick about 6 hrs later. dont know if it was the meal, however I didnt have any other symptoms and felt better after my episode. My husband enjoyed his lobster dinner.
I love Portland Seafood for the wonderful service and great menu. You can always count on the quality to be consistent and the staff attentive and friendly. I wish you would add another restaurant in the Gresham area...so miss the one at Burnside and Powell Valley road.
Wanda
I had reservations so we were seated right away. Our waitress was friendly , every ones food was very good except the steak, thin bland and not appetizing at all. The appetizers were really good and the seafood all very delicious. I am sorry I wanted to give you
guys a 10 but the steak killed it. I will go there again and again, just not for the steak.
Always enjoy going. Food has always been good very satisfied when done. Would recommend to all.
Our waitress was the best!!!!!!
Visiting Portland for the first time and based on ratings thought we would give this place a try as it was my fiancee's birthday. Food was very good and we were looking for Pacific Coast seafood and it did not disappoint. If in the area again, would definitely make another visit.
This has become one of our favorite restaurants. The food is delicious, desserts are yummy and everyone from the manager down are friendly and fun loving. We especially love Shane, our server. We have had him 3 times now and will request him in the future.
The Marion berry cobbler is to die for and my friend loves their key lime pie, which she has been very unhappy with in all other restaurants. Btw, the cole slaw is fantastic.
All around bad service. A few things never arrived and means not coming with a salad is insane. Adding the 18% gratuity to your crappy service was a slap in the face.
The food was delicious and the wait staff was very attentive. Was my first visit to this restaurant and I will definitely be returning.
They made sure our table was ready then we sat down, from walking right in the door. Seafood bisque was amazing 😍. Drinks were made perfectly, Long Island ice tea was made great.
Clumsy service and for what you pay mediocre food for the most part. If you want fish and chips go to Rose and Thistle. Avoid the bargain priced shrimp cocktail. The bay shrimp are flavorless and the drenched in Kraft cocktail sauce. Ugh. The sourdough bread, chowder, and cioppino were quite tasty. They served the shrimp cocktails and soup at the same time. Servers need to learn how to fire an order. If you don’t know any better you’ll probably enjoy this place. For those who care about their seafood, go elsewhere.
Food was spectacular! Wine was questionable, but waiter switched out with no problem. And the waiter was friendly, accommodating and professional. Thanks to him and the chef.
