We offer a la carte and also a Tasting Menu at lunch and dinner.
Wine is as important as food and service at Portland. Our main wine list aims to offer brilliant value on interesting, different wines which we hope you seldom see on restaurant wine lists. Our Single Bottle List contains around 100 bins of some of the world’s finest wines and also more accessible offerings from our favourite producers.
Apart from the main restaurant, we hope that our private room and its offer of secluded and separate dining is just the thing you might be looking for as we take our steps back into eating and drinking with the people we love…We are looking forward to we

Execellent service in private dining !!
A fantastic lunch, great wine list, attentive staff - will definitely be back!
Absolutely delicious & inventive menu, first class service and lovely ambiance. We will be back!
Amazing food (we got the lunch menu), very reasonably priced wines by the glass and great service
Lovely food (especially the rabbit Mille fuillie), great friendly service and a very relaxed atmosphere.
From the snacks to the dessert the tasting menu is delicious.
It was great to return to Portland. The busiest I have ever seen it. The food was great, of course, which is inventive and delicious. We had the tasting menu with accompanying wines, which were matched wonderfully. The staff made the evening perfect: friendly, chirpy and informed. Definitely 10/10.
Enjoyable evening with good food & service.
We would definitely go back
Tasting menu & wine paring. Was well paired and matched. Would love to come back!
This was a first class dining experience.
From the moment we walked in, there was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A simple and sociable dining room where all diners can see into the open kitchen.
As you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant the staff were attentive and friendly but not in an obligated way, there was genuine care for individual needs and that came with no hesitation or reluctance.
The lunch time menu choices were wonderfully varied and catered brilliantly for all food preferences.
From the appetiser to the dessert, the food was presented with wonderful thought and attention and the flavours were sensational.
Can’t fault my experience!
The food and service was fantastic, staff were attentive and incredibly knowledgable when recommending wine pairings. Will be going again for sure
Amazing food, great value and incredible service!
So glad we chose The Portland for our birthday celebration. Fantastic food, incredible wine (we had the taster menu), prefect service. Fine dining with a friendly face.
You can tell they really care about every aspect of the experience. Highly recommended.
The best food that I have eaten in ages. Super service and lovely place.
A welcoming and friendly small restaurant with excellent service and fabulous food! Staff were extremely attentive, relaxed environment and the a la carte lunch menu is really good value for money!
Amazing experience - we will definitely be back! Food and service excellent.
Always good! The lunch menu is so worth the money. Highly recommended
Great to be back at The Portland.
Wonderful tastes and flavours,
superb cooking and presentation,
and, as always, delightfully friendly staff.
One of all time London favourites.
Excellent meal, very good service. Nice small restaurant. The scallop starter and rabbit main course were especially good.
Did not live up to expectations at all. Described as practically Michelin star standard which is very far from accurate. Decor and ambiance more like a mediocre cafe than restaurant although definitely restaurant prices. Food acceptable but not the standard described. Will never return.
Very good central London independent restaurant. Sister to Clipstone Restaurant. Both are personal favourites. The recent fixed lunch at Portland was delightful and clever cooking with friendly waiting staff. Good value for this area. Fab!
Very friendly restaurant. The starters were outstanding; the rabbit was way too sweet so I didn't finish it. Tart was a bit too sweet need to balance better. The strawberry dessert was very refreshing.
Overall pretty good restaurant. Worth trying.
honestly, this was the best eating expereience of my life.
We did the very reasonably priced tasting menu with accompanying wine. Service and food and drink were exceptional and very unpretentious. So impressed!
The food was fantastic and the staff great
Loved it, food was phenomenal. Ravioli to die for. Staff attentive. Easy going vibe, wasn’t pretentious at all
The food was excellent but perhaps not quite to the meticulous standard of some other London restaurants with a similar Michelin star. The service was charming, efficient and unfussy. The price for the set lunch represented good value for money and the wine list was not at all as overpriced as I have seen elsewhere. Although I personally liked the informality of the place some might think it a bit scruffy. It has the ambiance of a café rather than a formal restaurant.
Good value 3 course dinner menu with 3 to 4 options for each . The beef carpaccio started was well balanced with nice texture from the chicken skin . Mains of rabbit mille-feuille & pollock were delicious . Walnut tart was like a mince pie . Great service & wine recommendations . Well worth a trip
Absolutely amazing experience. Chose this wonderful restaurant for wedding anniversary. Excellent and professional service, food is absolutely delicious. I couldn't be more happier. Thank you
Terrific food, fresh and beautifully presented. Accompanying wines perfect. Exceptional and very friendly service. Highly recommended
Went with my girlfriend for her birthday and had already heard good things but they don't do justice to how fantastic Portland Restaurant was!
The Staff are amazing (were running late due to travel issues) but were super cool and laid back about it and it was no problem.
Food is beyond superb, I've been very fortunate to eat in some of the best restaurants in not only London but Europe too and Portland Restaurant is up there! Amazing.
Overall I can't put into words how good Portland Restaurant is, you just need to go and find out for yourselves.
Thank you for an amazing dining experience.
The Portland is perfection.
Great food with impeccable taste and just the right amount of creativity.
Atmosphere is relaxed but you wont feel out of place dressed up.
Service is friendly.
We had a stellar evening. Amazing food on the tasting menu, accommodating regular eaters, pescatarians and a veggie. We were a family party of 6 for my son's birthday. They gave us a private room. And Gabor- who was in touch before and welcomed us n the night- and Tom, who looked after us, could not have been more welcoming, attentive or fun! We had a really excellent, funny, delicious, memorable night. My son was overwhelmed. We could bring presents and have room for him to make a pile of things! It was truly great. Thankyou to the Portland, as ever. We'll be back. We love your food and ambience.
Everything was flawless. Amazing menu and friendly service.
Everything was amazing! I had a lunch with tasting menu and every little details and flavours were well balanced and delicious! Staff really friendly and professional! I suggest to try !
The service was excellent and the tasting menu was amazing!
Very very lovely food, which tastes wonderful and is also very appealing to the eye. We had all four of the small bite appetisers (no lack of appetite at our table), the beef carpaccio and the scallops for starters (the onions accompanying the beef carpaccio were amazing - the beef itself was very good too!) and the scallop dish was light and fresh. For the main, my companion had sirloin steak and I the devilled rabbit millefeuille - the steak was beautifully cooked and had an accompaniment of a very concentrated ox tongue sauce. Both dishes again really really good. We finished (greedily) with two desserts (wild strawberries/walnut tart with a very tasty coffee ice cream) and also shared a cheese plate (high quality, served nicely at room temperature). A decent wine list is available, not too expensive. Yes, the total bill was c£250 for two, but we had a large and very excellent meal and pushed the boat out on the wine (a very good bottle of red plus a glass of dessert wine each) so you could certainly eat more cheaply if you were less greedy than we were. Service is friendly, informal and very efficient. Tables are simply set, with no cloths, but the space is comfortable and not too loud. All in all highly recommended - we will be returning, hopefully often.
Really excellent food, informal but attentive and highly knowledgeable service. The tasting menu is well priced compared with many other restaurants of the same standard.
Unfortunately the service and hospitality is not matched by the lovely food. Very disappointing.
We are sorry we were unable to extend your booking time, after your guest arrived 40 mins late for dinner. I trust you understand that when an experience tailored for two hours is reduced by a third of that time, guests may feel that they have been rushed. As mentioned in previous private emails with you, we would love to hear constructive feedback on how we could manage situations like this in the future, whilst ensuring that the next table’s experience would not be negatively impacted.
Friendly, well informed staff, creative food, great ambience, will be going back.
