Awesome service, good food with even better view!
Always love this place... we had excellent service and our lunch was fabulous
Can’t beat the view. Waiter was very friendly and had great recommendations. The menu is eclectic, kind of steak house, kind of Asian fusion. Which seems like it wouldn’t go together or one would be underwhelming. Not the case at all. As a party of 4 we all ordered different entrees and a few apps. Everything was phenomenal. The portions are generous and we were only bummed we couldn’t finish our meal because it was that good, but we ended up all full and taking home leftovers.
Our server AJ was outstanding! The steak was probably the best tasting steak I have ever tasted in my 60 years which I celebrated that evening!
We have enjoyed meals here before but I think the Chefs had a off night. My wife's Halibut was over cooked to the point that we had to peel off the layer of crust. My shrimp meal was just not good. Our server was attentive and nice but he did not ask how our meal was and did not inquire about the pile of food that we had sitting next to us on the table. The salads were great and the waiter did bring my wife a birthday treat. I do expect better quality from the City Grill and it's tough to recommend that my friends spend a good chunk of hard earned money for a sub par meal.
Everything from start to finish was 'excellent' at this restaurant. From the staff upon entering, the festive and lively atmosphere, food, drinks and exceptional service from our server, Shane!
It is very nice restaurant with a great view. But, it was so dark that I could not read the menu. I think they need a little more lights.
Out of town friend visiting for her birthday
The food, the view, and the service was perfect! Nothing to complain at all!
View and ambiance was wonderful for my moms b-day dinner
Prices too high for menu selection. I would prefer going to Ruth Chris.
Very nice place overlooking the city. The staff was very nice and good. The food was very good, just a tad expensive, although it's expected in that type of place. We definitely had a good time and would return.
It was date night with a friend who hadn't been to Portland City Grill in several years. We were fortunate enough to snag a window table. It was a clear night, too, with a beautiful view of Portland. Our server Wesley was superb. We'll get back, and soon.
Our server was great. Food tasted amazing. Food is expensive or I'd come more. But it's delicious.
I would recommend the Portland City Grill but warn about the potential noisy atmosphere.
I have enjoyed my dinner with my wife and a close friend. The view as the sun sets is incredible. While noise level is on the high side, but remains one of the attractions to be in this place. The service is amazing and the attention from the waiters could not be better.
Delicious meal but the restaurant was crowded and VERY loud. Surprising, for a nondescript Wednesday night. Good service. More expensive than I remembered. More expensive than it needed to be.
Nice views. Food was a bit rushed ie we were still finishing our starters and they brought our main course. We asked for asparagus with the bernaise on the side but it came on it. The potatoes that came with the steak were only warm. The steak was good and the server friendly. I think could just do with a bit of polishing up considering the costs.
Service was excellent, view fantastic. I had lamb that was over cooked past the medium rare I ordered and way over salted. Salad and appetizers were great.
Amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere. Fancy but you aren't afraid to talk.
Beautiful view, great service and great food. Thank you.
I recommend - but it's the view, not the food, that is the draw. Amazing view of the Willamette River and Mount Hood. The food was good, not great and the entrees were overpriced. We did get a great wine recommendation from the waitperson - a red Bordeaux blend paired beautifully with a rib eye steak.
Most of our party ordered steaks, and all the steaks were overcooked by 1-2 levels (e.g. medium rare arrived as medium/medium-well). Besides that it was a good experience.
Experience was very nice - The Piano was too load and made conversation nearly impossible. Fortunately it did not go on for too long before the pianist took a break
Food was delicious
This is the best night time view of Portland, from 30 floors up. Service is always top notch. Cocktails are generous in size and reasonably priced. (Patron margarita was $15 and easily twice the size of others I've had elsewhere, plus it was really tasty) Braised soy glazed short ribs with mashed potatoes and green beans were really excellent. Chicken Marsala very good. A freshly baked loaf of bread comes with the meal and it was really good. Dessert selection is above average and the creme brulee was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Beautiful view, great food and Skye took great care of me.
Outstanding service for my date and I. She got the fennel rubbed rack of lamb which was delicious and beautifuly cooked. I ordered a special of coffee rubbed elk, the flavor and texture being perfect. Our server Cassidy was very polite and accommodating, along with other servers offering to top off my coffee and water, simply stunning view aswell , with my request being fulfilled
It was perfect
We love brunch at the PCG. The food, the view, both great. Our server was awesome. We go for dinner once and awhile too. We will keep coming back!
Just the perfect place for a first date. Thanks for making everything perfect.
I wish I could remember our servers name, she was fantastic!
The experience overall was Great!! Thanks to the host who took my last minute accommodation! We didn’t have anywhere to indicate that we had toddlers included in our party so Brittany was kind enough to run it by her supervisor and we got a table to fit both kids. The food was amazing as usual and the service was top notch! Thank You Brandon! This was my 3rd time eating in the restaurant and I already booked one of your private rooms for an event so PCG did not let me down as always!
Thank you! Keep up the great customer service
Since it was our wedding anniversary (which I noted in the reservation), we were disappointed to be seated in a large booth in the back of the restaurant, adjacent to the kitchen. The booth was on a raised platform and because it was so large, we had to sit side by side facing out to the restaurant. It was very awkward and my husband and I had a difficult time conversing.
However our service was spot-on and food for the most part was delicious. I did mention to our server that my baked potato was inedible (overcooked?) near the end of the meal and he kindly provided me with mashed potatoes to take home with my other leftovers.
Friendly, courteous, engaging and genuinely nice wait staff. Wonderfully friendly service from Gunnar at the bar. Our waitress was precious. The food was delicious, and we loved the Anniversary table decorations. Thank you for making our special day even that much more special!
The service was excellent. The halibut with vegetables and potatoes was superb and the steak was tender and cooked perfectly.
We were beyond pleased with our experience here. The service was top notch from the waiter, to the food. Easily one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had in a long time.
Excellent food. It was a bit cloudy so we didn't have the amazing view, but the food was great, particularly the cioppino. The seasonal king salmon had great flavors accompanying the fish.
I've always liked Portland City Grill but this time they cooked the steak wrong for one of my guests and what he got as replacement wasn't what he asked for either. They didnt charge us for it and they offered free dessert. I would return but the guest probably not.
Really great place, however the “mood” lighting makes it nearly impossible to read the menu. We had to use the flashlights on our phones to order. The food was plated nicely but again we had to use the flashlights on our phones to see it.
I don't remember our servers name but I wish I had more money to tip him even more then what I already gave him.
