Portland City Grill Ratings and Reviews
We've been her numerous times and this was the first time that service was off. One of our dishes arrived cold, which needed to be sent back, and seemed like every server disappeared for several minutes. Usually much better service, food was great, and we'll definitely return.
AJ was one of the best servers I have had! He was knowledgeable about both the food and wine. He was kind and caring and a lot of fun to talk with. When we go back I will definitely ask to sit in his section! Oh the food was delicious and the view beautiful! Thank you for a great evening.
The steaks were perfectly prepared and seasoned and the creme brulee was done exactly right! Great service, portions and menu options. Our only complaint was the noise level, but a restaurant this good is bound to be crowded. Make a reservation and check this place out. We highly recommend.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday here. Since it was a Friday night, the place was pretty busy and moderately noisy, but the atmosphere was still nice, and the view is always great.
We both had the 10 oz. Wagyu steak, and it was fabulous. Mine was medium, hers well-done (and delicious), and the green beans had a light lemon-butter sauce on them. Baked potato could have had more butter and sour cream, and the bread was just average. But we enjoyed the steak so much that we didn’t mind. And our Cabernet (H3 from Columbia Valley) was good too.
Despite the expected crowd on a Friday night, we enjoyed our dinner date and left satisfied. We don’t get here often, but we always love it when we do!
Very excited for treat my daughter to a 5 star meal for her birthday and the Portland City Grill did not disappoint... it was great and I bet they do it every night
Even though the Grill is a top notch steak house we were in the mood for seafood and it was exceptional, starting with a deluxe sushi roll and cocktails, then entrees'... smoked pallea and crab stuffed halibut, with a botrle of French Riesling...perfect
A thoughtful birthday moose with a candle made it complete,
I love this place. I had only been here before in the evening so I didn't see the spectacular view other than the lights. It was a clear beautiful day and you can see all of Portland including the beautiful mountains. We started with some cocktails which were delicious then onto salad and the entree which were a great option for lunch. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who wishes to really enjoy a meal. The food, ambiance and service were fantastic.
Delicious food, excellent service, a window view of the city...tipt top! I hadn't been to PDX City Grill in about 12-15 years, and it was a DELIGHT to return and have such a wonderful dining experience. Loved it, will come back much sooner than 12-15 years (!), and will recommend it to my friends. Thank you for offering such a great Sunday evening!
With a formal restaurant on one side and a bar/lounge on the other, The City Grill is a wonderful place for many occasions: we took our daughters to dinner at the restaurant and had an incredible view of the Wilammette, the city & Mt. Hood. Dinner was pricey but very good. At the end, they got a special dessert. They lived it.
I’ve taken out of town friends here to the bar and it is much less expensive and the food is great. The views are beautiful and when the pianist is there, it’s quite an elegant experience!
Went to Portland City Grill for an anniversary. The restaurant was mostly empty but we were still seated close to a very very loud table, which was annoying since we were the two occupied tables on that side of the restaurant. The server prioritized the loud table over us and we had to wait a little time just to get a little service. In the end as the other table was finally leaving we finally got better service and he waiter paid attention to us again. Overall it was a good experience but I wish the other table hadn’t been so obnoxiously loud or that we had been seated further away from them to receive better service.
Second time coming here and the second time they mixed up my steak with another customers. Waiter took care of the situation but still got a bad stomach ache after taking a bite out of a raw steak. Could improve on making sure the customer gets what they ordered.
Appetizer sushi deluxe roll absolute best, honestly could have just settled for that as a meal, expensive but fair in portions and view and atmosphere certainly made it worth it. Also had the salmon, very fair portions and honestly should have split (especially including bread, drinks and appetizer). Absolutely delicious!
We went to celebrate my daughter’s 25th birthday. Upon arriving, the hostess was less than cordial and couldn’t seem to be bothered to answer our questions. We were told that 5 people can’t be seated at a window table, which I understand, but she assured us it was a nice table. It wasn’t.
The food was good and the waiter was kind if a little hurried.
Overall I was disappointed as I was expecting so much more.
This place is worth every cent-unbelievable food, wine, and service, 30th floor with a spectacular view of the city, the whole experience is fabulous and so memorable!! -my husband and I LOVE this place and it’s now our once a year treat while in Portland visiting family💓
We went for an anniversary and they had confetti on the table & a dessert with "happy anniversary" piped. Our server was fantastic, though we ordered a cheese plate that was never brought out. Overall great cocktails and entrées (steaks, pork double chop, and chicken with prosciutto/goat cheese are great!).
