Lovely anniversary dinner date
Loved everything about this place. Great food, staff, and views. Highly recommended.
Our favorite place to celebrate! Good food and great service!
Our second special occasion event. The restaurant and especially the waiter went above and beyond to make it memorable.
The food and service was excellent! If you are in the Portland area this place is a must specially during the day when you can see amazing views of the city and Mount Hood.
Good food, good service and an amazing view. I would definitely recommend Portland city grill to anyone visiting the Portland area!
Birthday brunch. Was great. Food was delicious and the view was great if the city and Mt. Hood
I am never disappointed, great menu selection and the staff is outstanding.
Absolutely amazing it was my first time and all I can say is I will definitely be back in the near future! Amazing food, service, and drinks. And Let’s not forget the VIEW is spectacular!?!?!
I wish the wait staff would have better accommodated us on such a special occasion. On the other hand the food is suberb and drinks are delicious.
Great first time there!
Very efficient service in a wildly busy bar/restaurant. View spectacular. Service great. Food excellent. Cocktail just ok.
It was the best date night I’ve had in a long time.
We hoped for a window table and we were successful! Great view in two directions (we had a corner table). This was our annual birthday gathering for all of us, and it was extremely pleasant and successful. Hope to come back soon.
We went ro celebrate our anniverary. It was our first time. We walked out of the elevator and waited for someone to acknowledge us and that never happend. After a few minutes I went to the woman at the front desk and told her name that we had a reservation she didn't even look at me she just pointed me to another desk and said you check in there. We were seated fast at a table with a wonderful view. Many gf options for myself and keto options for my husband. It was loud. Incredibly loud to where we couldnt hear each other to converse. Our server was cold and and seemed uninterested. Felt like very little attention was paid to our. The food was delicious I just dont know I would go back based on noise and staff.
Wow, another great evening! Fun waiter and excellent food!! Always love coming here.
Spot on as usual
great city views, staff is very attentive my reservations were honored promptly The View was exceptional
Ray our waiter was exceptional. He was very attentive without being intrusive. Great food, great service vice and ambiance!!
Scheduled a business dinner. Front end staff was cordial, table was ready at the scheduled time. View is stellar we were seated at one of the tables by the window. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list. Food is good and price is about what I would expect for the upscale location. I will definitely schedule more meetings here!
Hubby and I went for his birthday. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation and, happily, got a window table with the great view below. We arrived at 5:15 and over time it got noisier as more groups poured in, so, if you're looking for a place for quiet intimate dining--get there early. The food was amazing with generous portions. Our waiter was attentive when there were less people, but got spread a bit thin as more arrived. Overall, we recommend it.
Fantastic variety of food and wonderful service!
It was great! BETTER THAN SALTY’s!
This time I was seated at a table next to a North facing window.
The view, of course, was Great with typical boat traffic, Steel Bridge lifts, Helicopter landings/takeoffs, and street traffic.
This time was even better with a pair of Hawks hovering and circling upwards next to the window.
Then a Humming Bird paused next to the window as if it was looking for a nest attached to the building. That is 30 stories in the Sky!
Talk about Great Views!
Could only get better if Schandua was the server.
Went for brunch & took our girls. Not much options when it comes to brunch buffet but beautiful place & nice view if you get a window seat. We thought it was too pricey for the food served, yet nice for a one time experience.
One of the best restaurants in portland the waitress was amezing Javier was exelente friendly amazing view and services oir food arrive veru fast my friends and i had a great experience with portland grill
Amazing! From food to experience! Simply amazing! Everyone should visit this place in their lifetime. The view was great. Perfect for special occasions, such as birthdays:)
Was there for our anniversary and it was absolutely amazing!!!
Pros: The staff were outstanding. Friendly, courteous and attentive. They ambiance and view were spectacular. The drinks were a++, very good! Food was presented nicely and very warm. They sat us promptly at our reservation time. It was a birthday celebration for the four of us and they brought out a nice little piece of cake for us all to share along with a card they all signed saying thank you for dining with us.
Cons: I reserved a table over a month in advance and still got stuck in the middle of two other tables, was hoping since I’d reserved earlier I’d get a more private table or at least one not connected to two others. The appetizer plate was pretty darn pricey for what it was: a few kinds of cheese that didn’t taste great—none of the four of us ate more than a bite. The food tasted good—definitely—but not $60 a plate good. I didn’t even finish mine.
I feel like I’d return for their happy hour, which I hear is out of this world. And if I did return for dinner I’d be absolutely sure to request a separated table. In summary: the atmosphere is great, the staff are superb but the food was just good-not outstanding.
The experience was awesome best place to celebrate my Wed Anniversary. A little pricy but the occasion was worsted. Would definitely come back again soon and last but not least my server Danny provide an excellent service!!!
We had a very nice evening, dinner for my wife’s birthday. Melissa was an excellent waitress! We will be back again!
Wonderful food! They even put decorations on our table for anniversary and a dessert!! Window seating is phenomenal!! What a awesome view and ambiance!
the Service was good but the food was to expensive for the quality of the food. The food wasn’t. The food was okay but nothing special. Howvere the view was nice
Noted a family with young cancer patient making memories ...sweet! My salmon was cooked to perfection with a hint of translucent flesh in the middle. Delicious! Seasoning sauce tasted wonderful. Husbands steak was well seasoned. Veggies accompanying were a small portion.
Food was delicious! Service was great! Noise level and lighting can be improved.
We celebrated with dinner for four for our anniversary and had a delightful evening. Of course the ambiance of enoying a few hours sitting by a window on the 30th floor was terrific and the waitstaff as truly exceptional, Tanner was our main waiter I believe. We arrived to our table to find subtle Anniversary decorations on the table which was very welcoming. The before dinner drinks and appetizer were great and our entrees were also very good. We all had basically the same sides with our meals, green beans and mashed potatoes and we agreed that they were too heavily salted and the lemon sauce on the beans was over powering. However, the meat portions, filet mignon, short ribs, and pork were terrific. And overall the dinners were fine. The restaurant gave us a complimentary dessert which was terrific and also quite gracious. We did not order wine because we brought our own bottle and paid the $20 corkage fee. Overall, we all very much enjoyed our evening and also that parking was validated was great.
Portland City Grill by far has lived up and beyond our expectations. We felt that PCG would be a great start in experiencing the city of Portland, Oregon. We are from California and we had scheduled a reservation to celebrate a quarter-century birthday. Reading reviews, we had made a request to have seating by the window and was prepared to wait an hour if that was the case. We were slightly late and had given a courtesy call ahead of time to know the delay of our arrival. Although we arrived late, 7 minutes, we were seated right away and were presented with happy birthday confetti on the table! What a pleasant surprise.
The best part of this experience was our server, Izzy. He had amazing energy, humor, enthusiasm, and a wealth of knowledge about the city. We started out with cocktails and to my surprise, this was probably the best cocktails I have had in comparison to drinks in Cali. He gave many recommendations of his honest opinions of top tier dishes to try. The dishes themselves, Salmon, Pork Loin, Rib Eye, and Goat Cheese Chicken were juicy, full of flavor, and tender. They had the perfect texture with every bite that melted in your mouth. Izzy was very caring and kept checking on us as well as giving us a little bit of his recommendations of other restaurants to try during our stay.
Overall, this was a great experience and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to enjoy the highest quality of dishes alongside with an amazing view.
The food, service and view were excellent. The ambiance was horrible. It was so loud we could barely hear each other across the table. For a fine dining experience it was ruined, totally a brew pub atmosphere pretending to be five star dining. Atwater's ambiance was so much more pleasant than the current operation. Kid's dressed in ragged jeans and hoodies, dirty tennis shoes and flip flops yucking it up at the top of their lungs. I expected better for $125+ per person. Congrats to the Chef and Wait Staff, they were great. Management needs to get it's act together...
Had a table in the far back corner next to the Kitchen. The Kitchen is huge! Have been here before a very long time ago. Danielle was our server, and she was great. Everything was done and presented well. Table had Happy Birthday confetti and a little torte was brought out for my son's 27th birthday. Great containers to take our plentiful portions home (because we had to order dessert and the freshly baked cookies). Food was great and as expected for the price. I read in other reviews about "dress code not enforced." Get over it - in Oregon - dressing nice is clean jeans, t-shirts without offensive sayings, and basically casual. Maybe for the price people expect "suit jacket and tie" and business attire/cocktail attire for the women. But people come in off the street from sightseeing all day and spending time in the Voodoo Donut line. Locals come from work, that have pretty loose dress codes as well (even if you work Downtown). The View is the star here, not what other people are wearing.
It was our wedding anniversary and they had a beautiful table set up with confetti on the table next to the window. It was very private and quaint! Great place to go for a special occasion!
