The options and quality of food were excellent and the location can't be beat, but the service left quite a bit to be desired. We waited almost 10 minutes after being seated to have a server come over and greet us (a busser did bring us water) and we had empty plates and glassware piled up at our table throughout the whole meal. The buffet was not kept stocked and had lots of empty spots/entire displays. For an over $200 brunch for 3 people (before gratuity), it was not what I expected.
Recommend with caveats. Noise level at noon was excessive imho. Tons of kids, it was Sunday brunch. Good variety of food choices. Go for the view on a clear day and not necessarily for the brunch dining experience.
Had great time brunching with our out of the state friends for the first time here. We usually do dinner, but brunching was👌👌👏👏
Everything was top notch, would not know it was a buffet.
I really liked the French Toast & the Salmon, and chocolate swirl ice cream, but try everything that is what a buffet is for. (I did not try the shell fish - don't like it).
Omelet was just fair.
Everything was delicious. Our waiter Jeff J was so fantastic and really made the evening special for us!
Food and service was great. Views were amazing. It was a little loud for as nice of a restaurant as it is and prices were a little steep, otherwise great though.
I had ordered crab cakes, stir fried veggies with prawns and a cocktail with vodka, ginger brew and fresh lime juice. I had asked that they take out their lime sour syrup for the cocktail as i did not want any processed sugar or cane sugar in it.
They were accommodating by offering to use their agave syrup instead of their lime sour syrup for my cocktail and it worked out to be very nicely tasty drink.
Crab cakes were very yummy! Stir fried veggies with prawns were not that great. But it was not awful either. It seemed to have too much chili oil in it, so it was very spicy. And, it was not that savory. However, the veggies were cooked halfway, which is how i like them always at home. So that was great. As far as the taste, it was pretty much just Lightly veggies’ taste with chili oil and perhaps balsamic vinegar and white rice.
The menu also needs good vegan options, which there were not any.
With great views, amazing food and service, we love this place. its our favorite place for that special romantic dinner. They absolutely have some of the best food available anywhere.
Everything was so good!
Highly recommend the roasted Brussels sprouts
Great service all around, especially our server, Skye.
Portland City Grill is one of a short list of must take out of town guests to. The views are amazing and the staff and food are excellent!
What a great place to impress out-of-town visitors: come for the view, stay for the food!
(actually you better stay for the food or the management will try to limit the view!)
Blown away! Food was so great. Will definitely be back!
Awesome food, great view
One of our favorite places to go because of the view and the consistently good food. This visit was no different and met our expectations.
The food and service s definitely not at par with the view.
Only for the view. The food is mediocre at best. Very greasy and dated. Menu needs to be updated.
Great view, amazing food! The service was great! Felt horrible the couple next to us was arguing the whole time, but even so it did not take away from our wonderful experience here.
A Portland institution offers a varied menu and consistent service. It’s expensive, but it costs a lot to operate a restaurant 30 floors up as large as this. Great for a date or party.
Amazing for our twenty-fifth anniversary.
The views were breathtaking, even if you’re not sitting at a window table. Food was good, dessert was great. Our server was prompt and polite. The only thing that hindered the experience was seeing many open window tables not being used during our meal , and listening to the staff give people different answers as to why they could not sit there.
This place was great. The only complaint is when my wife went to use the restroom, she complained that there was no toilet paper and it wasn't as clean as you would expect when you pay $300 for 2 people to eat at a place like this.
We have been here a few times and there is always a problem. This time; not enough staff. For the Sunday brunch, it took them 35 minutes to bring our Caesar salad, and 1hr. And 15 minutes for the chicken and waffles. I feel bad for the servers who were really trying. Big corporations not caring about us that work the front lines. It might be time to stop trying PDX city grill.
The times we have come here it is the staff that we find either overworked or down right RUDE! You guys really need to get your stuff together.
10 oz. Fillet mignon, like butter baby!!
The old fashioned was awesome!
The food was great and so was the service. Favorite Steal house is town for sure.
We very much enjoyed
I'd recommend based on the views and not so much on the food. I was disappointed with the appetizers we had (lacked seasoning). Also, our permanent waiter never showed up and we were assisted by a replacement waiter that also had other tables. We felt a little left out and our service was slow.
The food was great and the review was beautiful! Glad I chose this place for a dinner date!
2 adults and a ten year old. We had 3 alcohol drinks plus our food and our bill came out to $242. For that much money I would of expected to be wowed with the food. Nope! I sure wasn’t. I can think of many restaurants that serve pretty much the same item for a while lot less. It’s just really over priced. I don’t mind dropping a couple bills on pay day weekends but this place was over for priced. Not coming back! Service was great but the food needs some work for it to be worth that much.
Fantastic experience!! Highly recommended!! The lobster Mac and cheese was the best I’ve ever had.
Food didn't live up to hype or price tag. Food came out warm at best. Taste was good, presentation was nice it just needed to be hot. Service was just ok as Im sure they were busy as it was Valentines Day. Quite a wait to be acknowledged. Buying a bottle of chilled wine and being asked if we want a chiller? I think it should be automatic to keep it chilled. Overall we spent almost 300 dollars for 2 people we would expect better.
Great restaurant food and service, I will comeback again.
Took my wife and our two daughters here for Valentine's day dinner. Wonderful food, service and overall experience. We will definitely be back!
I got there early went to the bar had a drink or two then went to sit down and eat . my server was great ask for my food to be well done it came out Burnt. I brought my valentine there for the good food I told her it was terrible wasn’t happy I waited a month for these reservations because I know how busy this places is . I’ve been to the restaurant A half a dozen times or more but this was not a good one . will always remember this valentine . had to feed the steak to my dog. If I would have had more time I would’ve waited for them to re-cook it but I had more arrangements that night . Sincerely David Whitehead .
Great ambiance. Awesome staff. Superb view if you get a window. Just loved it and so did my girl. Well worth the money! Thank you!
Our server was excellent and the food delicious as always!
It was really good. Our server was super nice
Valentine’s Day at the grill! Very sentimental for us. We went there after our wedding a few years ago. Our experience was very good as is the usual when we have gone.
The service was extremely slow. Never the process of the check took 15 minutes.
We friends celebrated ourselves for valentine lunch. Great French dip sandwiches. Very delish! Nice view on top of 30th floor. Enjoyable thank you
