The food was amazing and service impeccable. Andrew or waiter was on top of everything we never had to ask for anything!!
Delicious food and great staff make for a special evening. But it is quite loud and busy. The view is amazing if you can get a window table.
Birthday dinner, view was spectacular. Food and service top notch. Will definitely be coming back
It was good. As expected
Went for lunch and not so good this time. Restaurant was not busy but service and food were slow. Had to send the clam chowder back because it was so salty that it was inedible. This is usually a great spot but definitely an off day for them.
Birthday was truly special :)
Our server was wonderful and the food fantastic. You can’t beat the view of a window table
The food wasn’t anything special. The view was absolutely fantastic however. But I would expect the food to be marvelous at that price with that view.
Service was not as expected for a classier restaurant. Hostess was curt and slightly rude. Waiter did not stop at the table frequently enough. Lots of wait time, leaving us without drinks and sitting uncomfortably waiting for a box/the check. The view is beautiful... if you are lucky enough to get a seat near the window. The two of us were put in the back, at a huge table meant for 4-6, unable to see the view we came to see. We had to leave our table and disrupt the dinner of others if we wanted to see anything but the other customers. We each had steak, which was cooked perfectly in both cases. The green beans on the side were a great touch with the mashed potatoes.
Service was excellent
Food was not cooked as requested
I don't usually remember meals but this one I will remember. The duck, buns, poison sauce and kim chee appetizer was extraordinary. Fresh bread was delicious. Ceasar salad was good and all entrees...steak, lamb, and braised short ribs...were top notch. And our waiter Josh? Justin? was fantastic.
We had excellent service, the food was delicious and reasonably priced, considering the fantastic view. We were entertaining family from out of town and they had a great experience. We would definitely come again.
Dreadful ‘fresh’ Columbia River Salmon. Terrible, dry, tasteless!
The best side of Portland City Grill is view. Food quality is not very good now. It used to be much better.
Thank you so much to our waitress Janet! You made our Fathers Day Dinner very much pleasant 😊😊
The food was amazing and so was the ambiance. I would highly recommend this place to someone looking for a scenic view and a romantic spot to have dinner. It is pricey, however it is worth every penny. When you make your reservation be sure to request a window seat.
We enjoyed very much, had a wonderful time, we loved the window seating, thanks a lot for making possible.
The view was awesome. Service was efficient, speedy enough (did not feel rushed) and the seafood cooked to perfection. Loved the crab cakes!
Food was delicious, view amazing, and Anthony was a wonderful server!
We had the fish specials and they were delicious. Was expecting to order steak but the specials sounded so good. Very nice Pinot Noir though expensive. Cheesecake was exceptional. View exquisite.
Portland City Grill is the place to go for special occassions!!
Delicious meal! Celebrating Father’s Day!
Father's Day brunch was outstanding! With several seafood options, our party was pleased. The option of also ordering a few special items from the menu is nice in order to experience special flavors. We had guests who are moving to the area, and they loved sharing a window seat in order to explore the area from above!
Father's Day. I complain in pass about area not clean food running out and price for what you get. Happy to say all was perfect in all areas. Good job and made it a special day
We were there to celebrate my daughter's graduation. We arrived about 10 minutes early but they were ready for us and sat us very shortly after we arrived. The table had been decorated with Congratulations "confetti", very thoughtful. Everything was amazing, timeliness, service, food, and celebration. They gave my daughter a special dessert with a chocolate congratulations decoration on the plate. A really great place.
College Graduation. Service, food was amazing. Outstanding wait staff. all around excellent experience!
The food and service was amazing! The only negative about the Portland City Grill would be the price. I wish it was a little more affordable.
The service was not good, I made a reservation a few days in advance for a birthday celebration with the request for a window table. When we got there we were told it will be another maybe 45 minutes to get a window table, there was no preparation/decoration at the table we were seated at for the birthday, and I feel this ruined the occasion from the get go. The food was fine, the service was nothing special really. I'll definitely think carefully before I decide to make another reservation there.
Been here often. noticed price went up. not a big deal but my rib eye was like 50% fat. Felt I did not get what I paid for. I love Portland City Grill but expected a nicer rib-eye than what I paid for. Not sure if I would dine here again. Use to be my go to.
Stellar service from Izzy, awesome views, and perfectly prepared food. We shared the Dungeness crab and prawn cocktail. Our entrees included a petite filet mignon and grilled salmon. Everything was great!
The view is always great, service was good, the food fair and the bothersome thing to me was when my gift card from my last bad experience they said was expired and they wouldn't honor it. There wasn't a sticker on it to tell the date, so I thought it was worth a try, apparently when you have a bad experience, you have to come back in a certain time frame that works for Portland Grill to use your gift card. So if you are planning on using a gift card make sure it isn't expired. Just a little disappointed that our first time was a disaster and my second time I ended up spending $100+ on an 'okay' lunch. Not worth it.
Food was delicious, but service left much to be desired. Took 90 minutes after ordering for food to come.... dirty salad plates left and waters left unrefilled. Very disappointed.
Our server Jason was incredibly rude
Had a business colleague in from Austin, Texas, another foodie spot and he was very impressed by the whole experience. Great atmosphere, great service and great food. This will become my'go to' spot for out of town guests and my own special occasions.
The food was Excellent food. Must try somoas cake and warm cookies (yummm!!!)
Exciting venue, warm and friendly waitstaff, incredible conversation-worthy views, absolutely delicious food!
Outstanding service, excellent view, wonderful table, terrific food. all you could want in a dining experience. At the top of it's game in the Portland area.
Excellent Halibut. Great View. $50 entree is pricey with or with a business account.
Service was great - kudos to Anthony. Food in general is great, and I always feel safe bringing guests here - view is awesome. Was a little disappointed with the short ribs - the sauce was great but the meat was not cooked as tender as I am used to for short ribs.
Service was impeccable- prompt, cheerful and engaging.
