Great place to get a 360 view of the City of Portland; Food fabulous; when restaurant is full, very noisy; so if looking for nice quit meal, this is not the place to come; on the expensive side, but worth it since the food is so good;
We had an amazing dinner and view. Our waiter was awesome and accommodating to all our food allergies. We will be back!
We love this place! Everything from the food to the service is amazing! Only downer was we wanted a window seat but it was going to be a long wait.
Beautiful view, great staff and delicious food. Shane’s table service was excellent, very helpful in making tough decisions with all the options on the menu.
Wonderful evening! My husband and I had not been to Portland City Grill in a few years. We decided to celebrate his birthday there, and could not have had a better experience. The food was exceptional - scallops for him and rack of lamb for me - perfectly cooked and seasoned. The service was excellent - very attentive. We had a lovely window seat with a great view of Portland - magical night!
Sean (Shawn) was AWESOME!!! The best dinner I have ever had!
Not sure I’d ever pay $110 for a ny steak but cost was no object and was a wonderful experience. Back soon.
This is a spectacular location, particularly for out of town guests. The ambience is lovely and the view can't be beat. The prices, however, are ridiculously expensive. A bowl of pasta cost $50; a steak was offered for $110. These prices would be easier to stomach if the portion sizes weren't so small. I'd expect leftovers for that price.
We did have exceptional service by Courtney, however, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed it. The piano player in the bar was a nice touch, too. Portland City Grill is fine for special occasions, but I won't make a habit of dining here - my wallet can't afford it.
You have to be there in person before you can ask for a table by the window. Silly
The Portland City Grill is an excellent restaurant with a fabulous view.
A must try for any Portlander. There is always a good cart but none with a view like this.
We did brunch for four on a Sunday afternoon. The food was very good and the service was excellent!
Our first visit to the Portland City Grill was a perfect place for late night drinks and appetizers and a gorgeous view of the city. The wait-staff was pleasant and attentive. I was rather shocked at the prices though $$$$. Luckily, we were there during late night happy hour. Not sure I would eat there for dinner at those prices. Their Ultimate Lemon Drop martini was delicious as was the crab cakes and Asian Spring Rolls. If you haven't been, I would highly recommend especially for a romantic time.
Very loud and dark place. Not a large variety on the menu. Clearly not a place for minorities. We were treated differently from the White guests. Food was over salted. Not the best experience. The view was not all that special.
Our waitress Coreen with blonde hair was extremely rude the entire night. The food was fantastic ! But if you get a waitress named Coreen I would rather not eat there.
Perfect dining experience every time! Expensive but worth every penny! Delicious food for every one in the family, gorgeous view, lovely ambiance, impeccable friendly attentive service. The bill is never fun ($$$$) but I think fair; our favorite restaurant in Portland for a celebration!
This was our first time here, my family loved it! The food was excellent we all loved the menu options. Our server, Ray, was so great with service and answering any questions we had with the menu. We will be going back in the future
Overall our experience was good. Food was delicious, good sized portions for the cost. They had kids meals for our 5 yr old. Our only complaint was the service we experienced. It took a long time to get our drinks and then we had to ask multiple times for refills on sodas. We hardly saw our server throughout our entire meal.
Very excellent in every way. Service was the tops and the food was hot when it came. It had an extra something that made for an excellent meal and the cooks did an outstanding job. Everyone was very helpful and things went very smoothly from the time we arrived till we left. Thanks for an excellent time.
Seating was great. Server was friendly and very accommodating. Enjoyed the Turkey dinner !
Ordered from menu @ Thanksgiving. Excellent service, close to excellent food and drinks, excellent views of Portland. Definitely worth a return visit.
Great for a special occasion- food is okay. staff is fabulous & view is amazing!
We celebrated my husband's birthday with drinks and dinner. He even got a free piece of cake! The food was delicious, the service wonderful.
A must go to for a special occasion or for someone visiting from out of town! 10/10 recommend!
The crab cakes are fantastic!!! Generous portions and great wait staff.
Great time, good food
Amazing experience. Beautiful place and view - it was very busy and loud but amazing quick service. My steak was cooked PERFECTLY!!!
Pricey, but to be expected at an establishment of this caliber. Every course was delicious, steaks cooked perfectly. Service was perfectly attentive without hovering.
Absolutely Spectacular Experience!
Was a great overall experience, my girlfriend loved the views and the food. Will definitely come back here again.
I enjoy going there. The service could have been a little better. Seemed to take a while to get our order in. Other then that it was great.
Food was delicious and attractive when served. My smoked pork chops were quite large and the portions generous. Ambiance is great against the windows and our server was pleasant, informative and just the right amount of interest but not pushy.
Everything was perfect except for my husband's rib eye which he ordered medium and it came out rare. My filet mignon was incredible though and so was the atmosphere.
Came here for my birthday and everything was perfect! Except the service I recieved from literally ALL the hosts. When I arrived, my parents had gotten there first and asked the host if they have been seated yet. She then went to the computer to check and after she checked she turned around and kept talking to the other host. Did not say one word to me after she checked the computer. Then I had to go ask another host because they first host she refused to answer my question if my parents were seated yet. For a fine dining restaurant you would think you would get well rounded service. On my way out after dinner the host purposesly dropped a tray of forks right in front of me.
Having been there a few times for happy hour, I was very excited to have a dinner reservation. We arrived at 5pm and as of 6:35 we still did not have our meal. Because we needed to get to a concert by 7 (which we told our server upon arrival) we flagged down another server. Our meal came a few minutes later but it was barely warm. We had to gobble down our meals very quickly to get out the door. Meanwhile, people were eating at tables that were empty when we were seated. It was a disappointing experience.
Amazing place. Great for birthdays and anniversaries. Will definitely go back when we come back to Portland. Only thing I will recommend is to expand their selection of beers and Ciders.
What a special night!! Had a beautiful table right on the outside row overlooking Portland! It was my birthday and they treated me like a queen!! Definitely on my list for favorite places to eat in Portland!
The brunch buffet tends to run out of the most desirable items and does not always refill those stations. On more than one occasion they have ran out of Dungeness crab and not refilled it for the two hours I've spent there. The sushi station will also stay empty for a long time before they refill it, it was an hour wait the last time I was there. For the price point, these big ticket items should be refilled more regularly.
The food was great service could have been better.
