Celebrated my daughter's 16th birthday here. The food was great and our waiter was fantastic!
Our meal was overall great - a few hits and misses. My wedge salad was bacon-less and my champagne wasn't that great, pretty sweet for a $24 glass. However, the steak was probably the best one I've ever had. And the spice cake was unbelievable. Our waiter was really nice and knowledgeable, but the table next to us had multiple problems with their meal and he was very focused on them. I would have mentioned my salad issue much earlier but he hadn't checked on us. It seems like everyone wants window tables and they have some sort of wacky system for seating there. Perhaps people should pay extra for it, or be able to book it in advance if they're early or something. We were also very confused when we got off the elevator and walked into a dark hallway with no greeter for several minutes. We didn't see any signage and weren't sure where to go.
The overall experience was great! But be prepared for the bill if you are in the main dining room.
Got in fast. Ask for a window seat. Amazing service. Great food. Killer happy hour. Will go back
Yummy food & breathtaking view of Mt. Hood. Super romantic place for our anniversary! They even brought us a mini delicious dessert & had the table sprinkled with mini hearts & “happy anniversary” confetti! We will definitely come back!
We went to celebrate our anniversary and to our surprise the give you a dessert on the house! The service was initially slow but overall they made up for it. It was quite busy and somewhat noisy but the view is incredible. We'll definitely be back!
This restaurant was highly recommended to us out-of-towners by several locals. The view of the city was wonderful, as was the food and service. My complaints, though, were that lights over the tables were scattered and did not always provide adequate illumination (I saw people using their phones to read the menus), and the noise level was quite high. The party of 8 behind us was so loud we could not comfortably carry on a conversation.
The steak and scallops were amazing!
This is a fantastic restaurant! We had a table next to the widow and the city view was awesome.
Great view over Portland. Excellent service and great food in creative presentation.
A must go for Portland new visitors. Good scenery, reasonably good foods, reasonable pricing..
I had an amazing dinner at Portland City Grill! My waiter (I am really sorry I forgot his name) was so friendly and nice. He made the experience worth it! I also really enjoyed the food and wine which was recommended to me by my waiter!
We had an amazing time first time coming & honestly you wowed me with the dinning experience
Food was excellent but it took over an hour to get our entrees from when we ordered. We had a 6:15 reservation and had the kids with us so I thought we would be able to get in and out within a reasonable timing. We ordered everything right off the bat and it was still about 25 minutes before we got our (prawn and crab cocktail) appetizer. After we had several rounds of bread and crackers, we inquired at the 45/50 minute mark about our entrees. He went away for a bit and returned with the news it would be 6 more minutes give or take 2 minutes - and it wasn’t. As he finally delivered our entrees, our server joked that it just “seemed” long since we were hungry, in an extremely dismissive way, which I didn’t find humorous. Although the steaks and sides were truly delicious, I was frustrated by his attitude which made it difficult to enjoy our experience. We typically do a lot of private dining at PCG for work events and that service is always amazing so this was a big let down.
The food was amazing and the service was top-notch.
Food and service were great. The view is amazing & the overall ambiance of the restaurant was very warm & cozy.
It was very nice and the view was stunning. The disappointing thing was that there was only about 2-3 vegetarian options which sucks but the food was great anyways.
Great service, very friendly, beautiful view and great food.
Awesome lunch. Our server was beyond perfect!!!! Stunning view and great food
Amazing food, beautiful views and great costumer service!
I wanted to recognize Spencer who was taking care of our party of three on Tuesday evening. He was absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable, funny, attentive and very proud of the restaurant. The service was impeccable and the food was off the charts. I jokingly asked to see the kitchen and he was happy to oblige!! What an amazing set up you have there. I will be back and I can't wait to try more of the fantastic items on your incredible menu.
Great views, environment and food quality. Meal came very slow due to an issue in the kitchen. Manager made it right offering extra wine and a comp dessert.
Can’t beat the view; you can see everything! Food and wine was expensive but quality was superb. They didn’t rush you or try to push you in ordering more than you want.
Good food. Great crab cakes, scallops, rack of lamb and wine list. Our server Janet Y. was well informed and attentive. Complaint, food was way too salty and overwhelmed flavors.
I will start by saying that the atmosphere and service was FANTASTIC. BEAUTIFUL restaurant, and our waiter was great. The white cheddar mac and cheese was INCREDIBLE. The rest of the food, however, left something to be desired. My fiancee and I both had the wagyu steak tenderloin with green beans and "garlic bernaise fries." The steak was cooked perfectly, but didn't really have any seasoning. The green beans had a lemon sauce over them that infected the entire plate and gave everything a lemon taste that was really jarring. The fries were the worst offender. They seemed to be just frozen waffle fries from a bag with a sauce over them that didn't really have any flavor. They did give us a complimentary chocolate mousse for dessert that was very good.
Spectacular setting with vast views in all directions. Food was extraordinary, service impeccable
It’s a view restaurant and sadly the food has none! Have a drink there but go elsewhere for dinner.
Brunch was a little spendy, but that said I would go again. Everything was wonderful.
Great meat, that’s what we go for, best steaks in town! The service was a disappointment this time, not paying any attention to us, we are sitting with empty glasses, bringing us the wrong cocktails, not interested if the meat was prepared right.
For a place like that it’s a sad performance!
My girfriend and I went to PCG for our one year anniversary. We got seated exactly at our reserved time and we both ordered the Steak Skewers as an appetizer. We both ordered a couple drinks and both got the Filet Mignon. At the end of our meal, they brought us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Needless to say, everything was delightful! I have never had anything more flavorful in my life before. The service was perfect and the food/view of downtown at night was a perfect way to celebrate. I highly recommend this place for special occasions as it will not disappoint!
PCG never disappoints. The mussel and frites, crab cake apps were top notch. Solid cioppino, excellent sea scallops, and great halibut. Their old-fashions are pretty darn good too. Birthday dinner for wife and brought mother-in-law too. Lucked out and got a window table. Server Alyssa H. was fantastic. Thanks PCG for a great evening!
Food was amazing as were the views of the city!! If you are visiting Portland you must come and enjoy the experience.
Jeff was Absolutely AWESOME! We chose Portland City Grill For our 2nd anniversary and was not disappointed, nor do I every see my self ever being disappointed here. food was awesome, although the stir fry could use some flare to make it worth the price. but overall, a great experience. Staff was more than accommodating, food took just enough time to enjoy some appetizers and drinks before . food was perfect and the wine was Great!
There wasn't anyone up front to greet the guests. I waited a good 7 minutes with other guests and finally I just walked in the restaurant looking for my clients who had already been seated at the table.
Service and food were wonderful. Our server, Janet was exceptional. Would recommend waiting for a window seat. View of city is spectacular!
Steaks are okay. Not superb but good enough/you won’t feel ripped off given the high prices. The crab cakes are excellent, highly recommend them. The evening views are only so so and very dependent on weather. Good place if you are from out of town but prepare to spend a lot and not be blown away on the value for money basis. But it’s a good experience, one that is great to check off a list of good places to go in Portland.
Our seafood was amazing, the view of Mount Hood was stellar, and our waiter was beyond fabulous! Such a great dining experience!
The coffee was lukewarm. The chicken dish seemed undercooked and tough. Service and view were great!
portland city grill was awesome! I was so happy at the ease of a reservation and the way we were taken care of
