What a wonderful place to watch #Prom2018 take over Portland! It was awesome! Great service, good food, ambience, and will definitely be a new “go to” for us. Nice job! Thanks to Melissa, our wonderful server who made the experience personal. We’ll see you again soon!
We were visiting Portland for a weekend vacation. It was suggested by our driver to try it out for the view. The view was spectacular along with delicious food and great service!
Although the view is spectacular the food was cold and the drinks were meh.
Wow! Treated like a “celebrity”! Met up with my sisters for a lunch date. We made an open table reservation and got a window seat, what a view! Surprised at how reasonable the lunch prices were. The server was kind and attentive. The General Manager Darby stopped by to see how our experience was and even had the Executive Chef Amanda stop by as well. What a cool experience. The flourless chocolate torte was to die for and disappeared in a matter of seconds.
Fantastic food, service and view. Get the crab cakes - they are amazing.
Plats très copieux presque trop, accompagnements simplistes pas dignes d’un restaurant qui se veut gastronomique. En bref la quantité est là mais peut mieux faire côté raffinement.
Waiter was excellent, wine, both Merlot and Chardonnay, was super. The dessert for my wife's birthday was, in her words, to die for.
The service was very slow, took 5 minutes to flag down a bus person to get our waiter for the check. Then I waited another 15 minutes for him to bring the check. I complained but the management did not seem to really care. Said he was sorry, and hoped I would come back again. I would expect this kind of service from a small deli restaurant but not from a fine dining place such as this. The food was fine (not great), but what you are paying for is the view and the service, the view is fantastic, to bad they are not able to provide the service to match.
Overall OK. But when I review the credit receipt, I noticed they charged more to my card than on the receipt. Caused me to track down and get credit applied. Not impressed!
Was awesome. Always is !!
We have always enjoyed our dining experience at the Portland City Grill. I will say this visit was especially nice because of the outstanding service we received from our waiter. He was outstanding. Thank you.
The staff and the food were great. The view was also great as well. I highly recommend Portland City Grill to all my friends and family.
I will be going back very soon to eat again.
Everything thing seemed perfect. The view, the food, the service, the food. Just a little confusion checking in
Our recent experience was disappointing. The service was excellent as usual, but the meals were mediocre. Not sure if there was a problem in the kitchen, but one steak was overcooked, the other (bone-in NY) was bland, and the side veggies were slathered with a thick sauce that overpowered the flavor and effectively rendered them inedible conveyance for the sauce. You expect better for $60 per plate. We've enjoyed PCG in the past, but this was a let down.
I was a little bummed that things changed so much from our last Morhers Day brunch here. This time the food was good but not excellent enough to warrant the price. Add to that the service which was not nearly what it had been in the past it will be a while before we return. We had to ask for almost everything and for plates to be removed from the table which is not a normal thing here.
Not enough vegan options. We had several people we met who paid 50$ for very few options.
This is the 4th Mothers Day Brunch we have had at Portland City Grill. It is always something we look forward to on our trip from Sacramento to visit our son in Portland. The food is delicious and the service and ambience is perfection.
Mothers Day brunch was perfect. Great food, wonderful service, good view.
We went to the Portland City Grill for there Mother's day brunch. It was amazing the food options, the drinks, and the desserts all were spectacular. They jad everything from sushi to lamb shanks, crab shrimp, and all the usual brakfast iteams, to many to list. The deserts were fantastic macaroons and cake, even ice cream bowls with all the topping you could want. The views are worth a trip alone you can see so much of the city!
We have also been to the bar on a different occasion and it is just as good, in fact its a favorite stop on our yearly girls trip.
Incredible food, incredible service and an even better ambience. It was our first time there and most certainly won’t be our last.
Really terrific experience. Our wedding anniversary. Reservation got jumbled (probably my fault) but they found s table by the window anyway. Wonderful service, great food, and they brought out a little cake with a candle after dinner.
This was a birthday celebration and everything was perfect!
Great experience... we come here every year for our wedding anniversary and have a great experience every time. The food, service and atmosphere are great!
Moved to Portland 6 mos ago. This was an awesome surprise. First dinner date with my woman excellent tasting food, friendly and engaging staff followed up with an Opera finale.
Service and view was great, though we had very early reservations. Pork chop entry wasn’t as good as past meals (extremely fatty). Halibut was excellent but vegetables were bland.
Was the perfect place for a romantic evening. The food was divine. Everything looked and tasted perfect.
They made my girlfriend and I feel so welcome! The sweet little note made our anniversary so much better!
Upon reading already stellar reviews, this was the destination for my wife's birthday. The view is wonderful from the 30th floor. Our server was on his game, and the food.....oh, the food. My wife had a Swordfish over Asparagus risotto, and as someone who has dealt in seafood for 7 and a half years, I have never had such perfectly prepared Swordfish. Drooling over the keyboard as I daydream over it. For my meal, the rack of Lamb. Once again, the best lamb I have ever tasted. The ambiance was nice, the constant flow of prom-going kids gave an interesting energy. The plates are pricey, but you really do get what you pay for. A fantastic view with great hospitality, and meals to die for. It made for a very special birthday for my wife. I recommend Portland City Grill to anyone and everyone.
Celebrating my husbands 60th and this would be the best place for that type of special occasion. Excellent service, delicious food and stunning views! I highly recommend a trip to this Portland establishment.
Had a great table by a window with fantastic views. Unfortunately Portland City Grill allows anyone who wants too access to walk through the dining room, stand in front of your table and take pictures. Happened all night! Ridiculous, ruined the evening.
Awesome service, our waiter was extremely personable, and the food and view from anywhere in the restaurant was spectacular!
terrible service. Many reasons why the service was not up to standards. First, we ordered a cheese plate to start. Our waitress brought it, but was not familiar with what she was bringing us. Instead of going through each cheese, she said "here is the info about the cheeses, you can use this as a cheat sheet." not classy. The second problem was once we got our meal, we didn't see our waitress until she took everything away. There was no..."how is everything prepared?OR... are you enjoying your meals?" when the service is so bad, it really puts a damper on the whole dining/food experience.
The views are spectacular from the 30th floor. Service was great. My wife thought her filet was good but not great. My salmon was delicious especially when it was still hot. Nice wines by the glass.
One of the best restaurants in the country, as the food, service, and city/river view are all outstanding. After cocktails & appetizers in the crowded bar, my family enjoyed fillet mignon, pork chops, and roasted chicken all cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, and green beans served with the entrees were also delicious, as were the chocolate cake and creme brûlée we ordered for dessert.
Prices are high, but Portland City Grill is an excellent choice for a special event or when one simply wants a terrific meal.
Steak was amazing and authentic! Its the highest floor in the US Bank tower so its very scenic! Great for a date, buisness, and or even pre or post entertainment dining!
This place is AMAZING! I am NEVER disappointed! I have been for brunch 4 times, and I enjoy it for any occasion!
Served pork tenderloin that
I took my wife here for our anniversary. When I made the reservation I mentioned it was for our anniversary. When they took us to our table there was confetti that said happy anniversary on it and after our meal they brought us a piece of dessert and happy anniversary was spelled out in chocolate on the plate. Also the meal was maybe the best I've ever eaten. Awesome food and they took the time and effort to make the dinner memorable. It was very appreciated.
The food was definitely not up to the price. The lamb was undercooked and steak was over cooked and like warm.
A great place for special occasions but too pricey for any kind of casual dinner.
