Our experience started out rough, with lots of people checking in at the same time, with no where to line up and several large groups cutting in front of us to get seated. It was great once seated though. Our server, Mike, was friendly and knowledgeable. Our food and beverages were delicious and came relatively quickly. The view was gorgeous and we weren't even at a window table. It was a great place to celebrate our anniversary!
Absolutely awesome food and service was outstanding
It was so nice to enjoy the great view, good service and food!
Definitely not disappointing after not patronizing Portland City Grill over the last year.
The best restaurant in Portland, good service and education.
We were given a window table quickly in what was probably one of the meeting rooms. We loved the view but the room was not very inviting (dark, uninteresting carpet). They missed some of the easy things that would have brightened the atmosphere, like flowers on the tables. Our server was excellent, cheerful and knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food. The food was very good (scallops and Kalbi [sp?] ribs), although my husband's vegetables were too salty for his taste. Loved the fried (but not greasy) turnip "chips". Our waitress brought us a complementary dessert for our anniversary, which was a nice touch. The prices are reasonable for the location. I just wish the ambience had matched the server's quality.
Perfect service, wonderful meal, fabulous views, ambiance = memorable evening
Father’s day dinner ant Portland City Grill was worth every penny spent. Wagu ribeye, crab cakes and cheesecake… Yummy. Excellent service with a fabulous view. We have never found a single thing to complain about PCG. Too marks from us.
I can’t speak for most of the menu, but I can say this: I was not aware that salmon was capable of tasting this good. Praise to the kitchen for the incredible food that I was lucky enough to experience. 10/10 will return
Beautiful views and fabulous food and drinks! I highly recommend to anybody
We were in Portland to celebrate my husband’s birthday and I booked this restaurant because of the view and good reviews. At the time of reservation, I asked to be seated at a window table if possible given the special occasion and this was our first visit to Portland. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that we got a table at the corner next to the window with panoramic view. The food was amazing and service was tentative. We had crab cakes for starter and split the wagyu rib eye steak (the photo shows my half) and the Caesar salad. We got a complimentary chocolate fondant for dessert with a cute candle on the side. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
delicious! overpriced, but delicious! view is gorgeous so i guess that’s part of what u pay for, but the experience was unbeatable!
Ray was an outstanding server who really made our experience special. I’ll definitely be back!!
Amazing experience! Amazing service from Micheal! Thank you!
The food was wonderful, but our server, Skye, was the highlight of our experience!
Food was AMAZING!!
Firstly, the view from the 30th floor was beautiful and the Lavender Cosmo was delicious but...
There was one entree special that evening, Halibut. The waitress was not able to describe what it included nor how it was prepared, until she came back after checking, but it was 9:00 pm, you would have thought she would have known by that time of night what the special was.
I did end up ordering the Halibut, but it was very mushy...not very good, I didn't eat it.
Also, we could hear the bartenders complaining about not being able to go home yet.
It's a high end restaurant with high end prices, which is fine, but the food and staff didn't measure up.
I went in for my birthday dinner, and the staff were super sweet and attentive. With covid, they handled everything very well, and were very upfront with guidelines. The food was perfect and the I cant wait to go back
This was our first time at Portland City Grill as a celebration for my 30th Birthday and my husbands promotion at work. The food was beautifully done. My Ciopinno was a perfect portion, my husbands steak was wonderfully grilled. Our cocktails hit the spot! Would definitely return.
This was a perfect way to celebrate my son's graduation from U of O. Your team was amazing and the food as well.
Made a reservation for my daughter’s graduation. We had a wonderful time. It was a rainy day but the sun came out to complement the food. She was thoroughly happy and that is what it is all about
great time! beautiful views. we loved the ambiance.
My favorite place of all the places I have had tried before ….that simple !!!
Great service. Friendly, attentive without hovering
Food was outstanding
Early seating so noise level was not much
Visiting from California.
Service was great...
Enjoyed the evening.. celebrating life!
We came here to celebrate friends’ engagement, and it was INCREDIBLE. Our reservations were for 7:45, so we got to see the entire progression of the sunset over all of Portland. It was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend.
We have been to this restaurant many times and have been pleased with all aspects of the experience. Last night we had dinner with some friends and the experience was not good. The service was ok but the food in particular steak for $70 was not acceptable. First, the steak was served without knives and then was almost impossible to cut. Other dishes served were much better. I don’t think we will return.
Great place to take clients.
50th birthday celebration. The staff at Portland City Grill was amazing. Setting was beautiful and the food was fantastic. And this is all in a very challenging environment for the service/restaurant industry. I will be returning time and again in the future and look forward to them at capacity with bar service and their popular happy hour.
Outstanding view, food and ambiance. Always a great place to enjoy for any occasion.
Most beautiful view in Portland! Food was excellent as was service!
Beautiful views, delicious food, excellent quality and big portions, superb service, posh ambiance, excellent social distancing protocols.
This was our second experience at Portland City Grill. Everything was sooo perfect. We (Cameron, Catherine, Charmaine) are from California but we’ll definitely come back again. 🥰
Everything about our experience was poor. We were placed in the back corner and forgotten several times. Our server vanished for 30 minutes. Drinks and food both came out incorrect and it took extra time for them to attempt fixing it, but weren’t able to. The view was nice, if you aren’t delegated to a dusty corner in a corner like we were.
It was good
Always a guaranteed great meal and service uncomparable.
Wonderful place to celebrate! View, food and dessert were very good.
The food it was a great experience and I definitely will be back. Also, my date and I had a phenomenal server that made sure that we had everything we needed.
Fabulous views of Mt Hood. Have only previously dined at night so it was an unexpected surprise.
This place isn't what it was before the pandemic. We were celebrating a 50th birthday and were seated not actually in the restaurant but in the catering room - which is like eating in a cheap hotel ballroom. Food was really terrible and the prices for it were outrageous - which we were fine paying before when the food was some of the best in the city, but a nearly $300 check for Sysco truck food is completely unacceptable. We will never come back here. Just the view of the city doesn't justify charging customers a premium for the terrible food and mediocre service.
