First thing, first time user of "Open Table" and I love the app.
Second thing, they were busy at that time however we had reservations for 645 and didn't get seated till almost 730.
Third thing, waitress and food was good.
Fourth thing, it took 45 minutes to get 2 boneless
Chicken dishes and 1 eggplant parmesan dish after we finished our bruschetta appetizer.
Finally, next time I would go somewhere else. Fortunately we has plenty of time.
The fact that we keep coming back to this restaurant says it all
Pleasant. Good service and food.
service was fantastic !!
ordered the beef carparcio app , was pulled directly out of the freezer. wife ordered the soup, camoe out cold, on the reverse trip , was half of what she had the 1st time , same as the carparcio.
mains where very good , not sure why there was such a breakdown on the apps.
Seated promptly and our waitress very pleasant. Food was good I had the Salmon Porticello and it was delicious also the bruschetta was very good A nice evening with friends
It was our 47 year anniversary. The hostess took us to a perfect table and our waitress was great. She was always there making sure everything was to our liking.
We checked in at our reservation time and seated promptly. It was a very busy Saturday night, but the server came right over to take our drink orders. One of the specials was an arancini, which we all loved. Order that, but was told they were all out. What??? Ordered the calamari instead, which was fine, but when you want arancini and get calamari, it is a bit disappointing. Server came back to take our entrée orders. Hubby wanted the beef special, which looked amazing. Again, all out. Table entrees were all off the regular menu - veal parmigiana, chicken balsamico, another chicken dish, and hubby settled on veal dish. All were well prepared - pasta portions a bit small. But everyone finished everything. Service good. Noise level a bit loud.
Polyanne and wait staff was wonderful! Took my in laws there and they are still raving about the food, two days later. Great place, great food and awesome service.
Usually we enjoy our dinner here, not so much Friday night everything was off. First, the lights kept flashing on and off, the flash was like your face in front of a camera. The waitress told us that they’ve had the problem for 3 days and couldn’t find the short. Great, then I’m thinking fire ! The food wasn’t terrible but could have been better. Apps we ordered the fried mozzarella w/ cold cuts, omg had to take the smallest bites to be able to swallow it! Otherwise you got this ball of mozzarella in your mouth and couldn’t swallow it. Geez, I had shrimp scampi over Angel hair, not to bad except the shrimp was on this side of tough, tasty just didn’t eat much shrimp. Husband had lasagna with a meatball, he didn’t care for it, very small meatball, tasted like some kind of filler used. He only has sight in one eye and with the lights going nuts I don’t think he would have liked anything. Finally the lights stopped flashing and I wanted dessert of course, love the profiteroles I ordered that. Husband wanted a chocolate dream hot spiked cocoa. He got the molten lava cake! Quite a difference. He was not happy. The waitress said she’d take it off the bill and order his drink, she said if he didn’t want the cake she would find someone else to have it, I don’t think so,food doesn’t go from one table to another! He told her forget about the drink, which she did.and got charged anyway, we did eat it . Who wouldn’t? Yummy dessert was the best part of our meal.
Had reservations at 7 but had to still wait almost 15 minutes to be seated. Very loud and very dark. lights flickered on and off constantly which was very unnerving. Took forever for us to receive basic basket of bread to start.
This was our first time dining at Porticello, and the food was absolutely amazing. I think everyone at our table finished every last bite despite being full! Our waitress was very nice and so I don’t think it was her fault but service was extremely slow. I am fine with waiting awhile for a great meal and enjoying the company of friends and family, but it took about 20 minutes just to get a glass of water and closer to 30 minutes to get our actual drink orders. We will give it another chance because the food was so great, and hope the service will be better next time!
Visit with college kid
Excellent food and service! Will definitely return!!!
all Dishes were hot and very tasty. Service was excellent. I had the salmon. It was absolutely delicious.
Sunday evening dinner was delightful. Quiet with delicious food and good service.
It was a little noisy the night we went but they were having a wine tasting.
Very subpar service
The only complaint I can say is my stomach ran out of room. It was awesome, so yummy and Polyann rocks! Thank you Polyann for being so wonderful.
Excellent food, great service.
Food was excellent-server was awful. It was any mother’s birthday and this server barely showed up to work.
The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I will be visiting this restaurant again. I left full and smiling.
The food was delicious!
dinner before show at Xfinity center. Arugula salad was salty had to sent back and again it came out too salty. Rest of meal was food; Chicken ziti broccoli was excellent, chicken was tender and not overdone. Eggplant parm was nice and crispy not too oily or soggy red sauce was delicious. Chicken saltimbocca was generous portion and nice sauce.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the veal was. Will definitely be back to try more items off the menu!
We made a reservation that included a toddler. We asked for a booster seat or high chair and they did not have either. We ordered drinks and I asked for a cup with a cover for my son and they didn't have that either. We were sat at a table directly next to the host stand so we were very distracted by guests coming and going. I understand them trying to get as many tables in the small dining room as possible but maybe go without that one, it doesn't help in creating a great experience for your guests. The server could have been a little more polished and the conversation at the host stand was unprofessional and loud. We will most likely pass on going back.
We were able to have a very leisurely dinner with old friends. 2 Italian dishes were nicely prepared and tasty. The 2 sea bass were undercooked. We were told sea bass is a firmer non flaky fish. The server ,who btw was very pleasant, offered to cook it more but at that later point in the meal I declined and decided to take it home and complete the cooking.
A bit disappointing was the beverage service. 2 of us were seated immediately and were not offered a beverage for 15 minutes. We tried to get the attention of several servers walking by with no luck. We then summoned the hostess. A server then came to the table with dishes to her side and quickly asked what we wanted to drink.
Please note we had avery pleasant meal and experience at Porticellos several months ago.
My husband's steak was excellent and perfectly cooked. I had a veal dish which was also very good.
I'm not sure when we'll be back. We'll probably give it another try.
Polyanne was fabulous as always. Food to die for. Thank you for a wonderful time, great food and great staff! Highly recommend Porticellos!
Our friends were quite impressed with our restaurant selection. The wine was excellent, our Caesar salads were chilled and crisp, and everyone enjoyed their dinner. We had great service with after dinner suggestions of cappuccino and dessert that were delicious. Thank you!!
Service was excellent and the staff very friendly! But portions were small for the “high-end” process.
We enjoyed our meals but the server was off her game and things came piecemeal.
Went for saturday night dinner. Place was quite crowded waited 20 minutes to sit but over an hour for our food to arrive.
Not worth the wait.............I would not go back.
Very busy night with College Graduations and many large parties. That affected the service . We have been coming here for many years and the food was quite good. The food runner twice brought the wrong food to our table and started to serve it and when he did bring the right order didn't know how to identify one of the dishes ordered so it sat in front of the wrong person getting cold.
Our party of 6 was celebrating an Anniversary . I spoke directly to the owner when I made the open table reservation. I told him about the anniversary and he said to put it down on the reservation info. on open table which I did. When we arrived I told the girl we checked in with about it again.
Meal ended and there was no mention or acknowledgement of the anniversary. Our friends had to pull the waitress over and ask her about it. She said she knew nothing about. It was of course obvious to us what was going on and we told her to just forget about it, but they brought out a bite sized piece of tiramisu with a candle.
So the food was good, but got cold. The service was very slow and the runner had no help from the waitress with what to do. And the very small matter of acknowledgement of our anniversary spoiled the evening for us.
With a lot of very fine Italian restaurants in the area, I think we'll take a break from Porticello and give our business to someone else.
as usual Porticello's doesn't disappoint. We especially like that they offer there regular menu on Mother's Day.
Excellent service, the food was fantastic and our table was ready when we arrived (which is unusual for Mother's Day). Can't wait to go back again!
The baked stuffed lobster was fabulous, everyone raved about their selections. My sister in law said it was the BEST chicken piccata she had ever eaten. The Bolognese is always delicious. The Deserts were great, Frutti di Bosco, Creme brûlée’s, & Tiramisu and Expresso martinis was an amazing end to a great meal. Of course, Susan was an attentive server and Mario is always on hand, friendly & generous.
The food was excellent. My mother and I both had baked stuffed lobster and it was excellent - a large lobster with stuffing that included shrimp. My son loved his filet mignon and my husband loved his chicken meal as well. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. My husband dropped his knife and it was swiftly picked up and replaced with a new one. The atmosphere was also very nice although I did find one thing a bit strange that I hope the owners will understand and rectify. When we arrived on time for our reservation, we were told for big holidays and Open Table reservations, they utilized their bar area for some dinner patrons. The one thing I will say is that the actual Porticello website directs you to go to Open Table to reserve your table yet what we were told implied that the Open Table reservations were "lesser than" direct reservations. We went along with the bar seating to be accommodating but they may not want to say it's because we reserved through Open Table if that's what your restaurant tells you to do on your website. But, back to the good! My mother and I were given roses at the end of our meal for Mother's Day which was such a nice touch and really made us feel good! Overall, great experience and the staff truly go out of their way to make it a wonderful, upscale experience for their guests!
Dinner was delicious and the service was great! It was very sweet of the restaurant to give roses for Mother's Day!
I am not sure why but the server was very quiet and we continued to need to ask what they had said. They also did not know the soup of the day and made something up. We also did not receive all meals at the same time. We ended up receiving a free desert because of this. Overall the food, drink, and everything else was very good.
I love this place. If we are in town for my birthday, this is were we go. However, this last trip wasn't the best. Our server was often MIA and wasn't on top of the "details"
