Porterhouse Steak and Seafood - Little Canada Ratings and Reviews
The New Zealand lamb chops were absolutely extraordinary and we are severe judges of that item. The scallop starter also was outstanding. It is a little noisy but not totally disturbing - we had no problem conversing. In addition it was a good value in cost.
The service was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, but a little on the "luke warm" side. I like my food "hot". I really thought it was going to be a romantic dinner, but the restaurant was extremely loud. I would still recommend this restaurant if you are looking for an energetic atmosphere and good food.
We went the The Porterhouse for my wife's birthday dinner and invited some out of town friends from Wisconsin. Everyone loved it. One even said it may have been the best steak he had ever had. Everyone ordered something different and everyone enjoyed. We we're lucky enough to get one of the few comfortable booths.
The cocktails were good. Food was great. A little spendy for our life style but great for special occasions.
The black and blue ribeye was very tasty.
We were very happy with our choice to come here and glad we didn't disappoint our out of town guests (we all have kids and rarely get out soooooo... It better be good. It was.)
My husband and I, all year have been trying fine dining restaurants and our friends (who came with us) insisted that Porterhouse had the best steak. We had a TERRIBLE dining experience. It started with our arrival, we were 20minutes early and ended up not being seated until 15minutes AFTER our reservation. To make matters worse, we could see we were next in line and the hostesses over 3 times were calling a group (with only 1 person more than us)who hadn't even checked in! We saw the booth open for over 10minutes and I ended up saying something to the hostess and she proceeded to argue that we would only have to wait a few more minutes, when I said..you are going to make us wait longer, when there is a table right there opened for a group that NEVER checked in and you are going to argue with me? The other hostess said...well we can seat you right now. The other fine dining we have tried, all of them were busy and reservation only seating (Friday or Saturday nights). We sat and informed the waitress that I had a tree nut allergy, she took our order...which we had to wait over 45 minutes for our meat to come. Completely not acceptable, to make it worse the scallops I ordered were covered in Almonds!!! I almost ate them, with the lighting being so dark, luckily I DIDN'T. We ordered the steak Medium Well and it came out Medium Rare, because we had waited so long for the food we just ate it. It was awful! The whole experience all around was the worst out of all the fine dining we have done this year, huge disappointment. We are really unsure why our friends like going there twice a year, we are thinking they need to try other places. I just felt you should know our experience and hopefully no one else has to deal with this.
Good service very attentive. Steak was too rare but gave me a plate and took it back to cook longer. No problem. Asked how I should order and she said medium plus. Have to remember that for next time. Celebrating two birthdays. We received a cake that was more than enough for the 4 of us. It was delicious. Will definitely be back.
We have been here several times and have never been disappointed by the food. My salmon was grilled perfectly and the asparagus was great. Beer list is a bit light but the food is definitely the highlight. We sat in the bar area which can be hit or miss. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive to our needs. We'll be back again.
Normally The Porter House is always great. This time mine and my wife's steak was not the greatest. Her's was under cooked and had to be sent back, she is pregnant so her food needs to be more on the done side. I ordered the filet and I got the special which had a mushroom under it (I hate mushrooms) and a cherry sauce on it so that was all I could taste. I didn't send it back because I didn't want to wait.
Have eaten at the Porterhouse numerous times and enjoyed it every time. The service is friendly and helpful. This visit I had the large ribeye cooked perfectly, my son had the filet and lobster, my wife had the sirloin and the 3 of us left the restaurant very happy and full. It was my sons 21st birthday and they presented him a delicious cake that was enjoyed at home. Would recommend the Porterhouse to everyone who looking for a great meal.
This was our first visit to Porterhouse. Our server, Aja, was great; very patient, attentive, friendly and offered good suggestions. The menu says you can request your own combination of items, which I did. The price was very reasonable (actually less than I expected). I ordered a combo of lobster, jumbo prawns and a crab cake. All were prepared well and tasted great. The crab cake had larger pieces of crab served with a spicier remoulade sauce which I liked. The ribeye was prepared correctly as ordered and was very tender. Great prices. Meals come with salad, bread, and potato or vegetable. Drinks were stronger pours. Cocktails are well priced. The wines are higher. We were celebrating a birthday and were surprised with a very large piece of cake, which was very moist. Only negative is that felt a cold draft much of the time and then occasionally would feel warm air circulated. Would return.
Had a birthday dinner with my brother-in-law and husband. Their birthdays come almost on the same day. All our meals were exceptional. First time I had the lamb chops and they were very delicious.
I always have a Nuts & Berries cocktail and it is very tasty. Will return soon to enjoy another great meal and wonderful service.
It was my wife's birthday and we usually go to Porterhouse for birthdays, food was really good, fast service, our waitress Heather knew everything about the menu so that made it perfect. Grandma split a meal and the kids all enjoyed it too. A little crowded in the corner table in the bar area but we all had fun and a great meal!
