Porterhouse Steak and Seafood - Lakeville Ratings and Reviews
Many time customer first time not to tall enamored. Steaks were not cooked how ordered. Son and his girlfriend got married kind of celebration - thought they would at least been offered a piece of cake on the house for the occasion seeing our bill was over $200 but nothing.
A petit filet to die for!! The décor is simple, the menu is upscale and the food is excellent. We traditionally visit for a birthday, but don't tell the waiter or you'll receive a complimentary cake with all the fanfare.
I'd say we'll be going again, but that would be repeating myself
I was expecting the prices as everyone said it was a spendy place, but was floored by the GLASS of wine at $17 each... That wasn't called for. It was nice but I can't see going back. Food is good, but can find good food lots if places. The people though, they were top notch. Excellent service and overall customer service.
The steak was great! It was cooked perfectly. Also, I have special dietary needs, and the waitress was very helpful with making sure that I got the necessary food. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, too. It had a warm and cozy feel while still being nice.
My husband and I joined friends to dine at Porterhouse. Three out of the four of us ordered streak, done to perfection. The New York Strip is 2nd to the hanger steak for our favorite cut meat. It was flavorful with a great sear on the meat. My friend who is a vegetarian ordered a stir fry of veggies which was not on the menu but they prepared it just for her. They were excellent. To end our time our server brought out a dessert for each of us complimentary as we were celebrating our birthdays. The crème brulee was one of the best I have had! Our server continued to take care of us well beyond our meal, refilling our waters and checking in with us. I would highly recommend Porterhouse for a pleasant dinning experience.
Great place to go for date night or to celebrate! The crab legs and ribeye were delicious! Loved the ambiance. It was a little noisy but all good noise, everyone enjoying themselves and it was very busy. The service could have been better, a little slow and inattentive.
Our visit was wonderful. We were there for our 12yr anniversary on a night just us, without the kids (we have 7). Our server and the staff all congratulated us on our anniversary and we felt well taken care of. We were called away due to a sick child and had to take our main meal with us. It would have been so much better fresh. Maybe next year :(. Will go here again!
We eat at Porthouse regularly because it’s close and the food is decent. We met friends there at 7 pm on a Sunday night. Made reservations because always crowded. Well, it was particularly noisy and non conversation friendly that night. There was a big family group including toddlers seated in the middle of the restaurant. They lingered after eating and after they left the table, they stood next to us like it was a cocktail party. Not a good atmosphere if you want to enjoy a pricey meal. Also, I have pointed out in prior reviews that the servers pace poorly. Almost always bring main courses when still eating first course. Hello—that makes diners feel rushed and the clutter of dishes on the table is annoying. Lastly, I wish they would trim the LONG stems off the spinach in their salad. Can’t eat it without cutting the whole salad up! For these prices, the kitchen can do better.
First time there for my birthday. Steaks were great and my daughter enjoyed her salmon special too. It is more of a special occasion restaurant as we didn't get out of there for under $100 for the 3 of us. We were charged extra for the additional toppings on our baked potato which I would have skipped had I known since I didn't use more than the cheese anyway. The steaks were done to perfection. The waitress didn't rush us and overall it was a very nice relaxing time. Will return and recommend.
As always Porterhouse never disappoints us in the level of knowledge and service from the servers. They are so intent on making sure that we are having a wonderful time without them even seeming that they are there. Food is excellent as always too. We are so fortunate to have this establishment in our neighborhood.
The food we ordered was great, however the service just about ruined our night. Our server was very patronizing from right off the back and when we received a ribeye that was very cold and very inedible she told us that was how they did medium rare. I can excuse a mistake from the kitchen, (and it was a mistake, that steak wasn’t even close to rare, I would be surprised if it was even over 100 degrees) but when I’m told that a raw steak is “just how they do medium rare” and that I’m wrong, that is inexcusable service. Very disappointed, because the rest of our food was good.
We really enjoy eating at Porterhouse and everything is typically exceptional; however the last couple of times we've eaten there we've been disappointed with their filets so not sure if we'll be back any time soon. This most recent time my husband ordered his filet medium and asked that they not char it on the outside. Of course the steak arrived charred so a total bummer. Rather than wait on a new one he cut off the charred pieces and ate around it, but just an unfortunate experience.
Atmosphere - Very warm, friendly and inviting.
Waitstaff - Awesome, very attentive and they know their stuff.
We started with a Spinach salad with warm bacon dressing - can I leave it at that or should I say "best salad I've ever had"!
We went for steaks but they have seafood items as well. We'll be trying the scallops and the Alaskan King crab legs on our next visit.
My husband ordered the 28oz Porterhouse steak, cooked medium and he ate it all the way to the bone so I'm assuming he liked it ;)
My choice is always the Ribeye cooked medium rare. I went all the way and ordered the 24oz! My steak was cooked to perfection!
With that being said I did have to ask if the steak was actually a ribeye because I associate a ribeye with delicious marbling which this steak had none. So I felt like I was missing some flavor. Besides that the steak was delicious!
Will I return? Hell yeah I will!
We've driven by here for years and finally decided to eat there for our anniversary. The ambiance and service were great- glad we had a booth as the tables seemed close together all lined up in rows. The food was above average but not stellar. The walleye was less flavorful than what I've had elsewhere. Perhaps it was the lemon butter. Order your meat more well-done than usual. Medium rare was raw basically except on the outside. We will go again at some point but I'd order something different.
We had a fabulous dinner and really appreciated getting a booth which we requested. More quiet for my hard of hearing husband. Allie was a superb waiter and couldn't do enough to make us happy. We all loved our dinners and we're beautifully prepared. We'll be back!
