Everything was excellent!!! Our waiter Connor was the best and very attentive. Hubby had oyster bordelaise and I had seafood gumbo and the trio salad which was to die for. Only down side was the noise level coming from the bar at 7:30pm was too excessive preventing any table convo. Which was unpleasant when on a date to celebrate anniversary weekend kick off.
Have been to the restaurant many times and have always enjoyed the food and everything about it. I would go there any time. The help is polite and helpful.
The food was acceptable but the service was a train wreck. There was a big party in the back room (tour bus) and only a handful of waiters and waitresses. Five of us were at the table. Three of us got our meal and we were already done when the other two were served. Waitress comped us a dessert and said she'd discount the two late meals. Check arrives and no discounts. It was settled once we got the manager involved. If you can't handle big groups then don't accept them!
Not what we expected. No bread served, had to ask for water, served my dinner while I was eating appetizer.

There were two employees screaming and yelling at each the entire time we were there. I’ve never heard that many F,MF, And S words in my life. It was very unprofessional. It didn’t seem to phase the other employees. It’s good that it was slow that night. .
Little disappointed. Went for Valentines Day, and was told management would not let us eat at a table for 4. There was a wall with tables for parties of two. The person next to me was an arms length away. Not very romantic when you hear the conversation on both sides of you. We ate early enough that there was lots of tables available when we got there and when we left. It looked like their regular customers had first preference.
The food was mediocre, they were also out of half of what we wanted to order.
But on a good note, our waiter was very friendly.
My two sisters and I went for lunch earlier this week. We loved the menu so much we decided to order 3 different things and share. Fried chicken livers, fried green tomatoes and the Eggplant Vincent. Everything was absolutely delicious. If I have one recommendation, the pasta was not warm enough but it was wonderful and cooked perfectly.
Below average dinner. Terrible seafood gumbo, counted one shrimp in the whole large bowl that was ordered. Lima beans w/ chicken livers was awful. The chicken livers were burned to a crisp. Only favorable review: the waiter. He was very attentive and did his best to make the best out of a terrible meal. This was my second time at Porter & Luke’s. After the first time, I decided I would not return. I did change my mind because a friend insisted... sorry I listened.
Just a average dinner. The egg plant appetizer was great and was the only plus of the evening . The Crab Ponchartrain was over cooked. It was Fried to an overdone crisp.
Service was good / got the Steak, the cut was (terrible) not cooked well.
I give a lot of credit to Management, they did make it right, by Comping the Steak......

the restaurant was extremely noisy. There was a large table of noisy people seated next to us. They left and were replaced by another noisy group. When we sat down, a waiter was having a loud conversation with another couple seated near us. When we left, my husband said now I've done that. The food was good.
Enjoyed our meal, loved that our waitress offered to split our salads as they were large enough for two people; and it was done in the kitchen, not table side. fried oyster spinach salad was great as was my almandine fish of the day (black drum I think). Also a kid friendly atmosphere.
Excellent service and they do killer soft shell crab and maybe the best fried chicken in the City.
I booked this place for a business dinner with a party if 10 during the busy AAO convention. First impression upon arrival of both exterior and interior were not good. In fact, I was a quite worried that I had made a bad choice for a business dinner with my important customers. There is really nothing to create ambience in this place. Staff was cheery but not well-trained, with basically zero knowledge of the menu. 2 different wait persons freely admitted not having tried any of the food. Unacceptable. If the owners want the staff to sell their offerings, the staff has to know the product. All of that aside, the food was OUTSTANDING . Everyone in the party loved it. The fried chicken was the best I've ever eaten. So, kudos to the kitchen. They've got it right. There's work to be done at the front of the house.

Great food, great service...I am just not fond of the stark décor. in my opinion it would be nice to dim the bright lights a bit and it always seems cold in there. Otherwise, a great place, friendly people and a great location. We will continue going back - we really like it.

Tried the meatballs and pasta, the pasta was overcooked. Had a rusty nail but the drink could have been better. My wife had a broiled fish dish which was okay.
Food was terrific. The fried chicken is as good as it gets. The grilled redfish was moist and tasty. P & Las is a great neighborhood restaurant in the true New Orleans tradition.
Went Sunday after 1 pm, not too crowded when we got there, but filled up all at once about 15 minutes later. Short staffed, hard to get waitress. Hot crab appetizer was amazing, everything else mediocre. Calamari was on special day menu, but tough. Sauce served with it great for spaghetti but too heavy for calamari. One entree brought out was wrong, then took 15 minutes at least for a replacement. Waited 30 minutes to try to get someone to bring coffee.
Two of staff both made comments that they were supposed to have gotten off at 2, but it was too busy. Sundays after church usually busy, so not sure what was going on with staffing. They opened at Noon! We paid and waited 15 minutes for change as we paid cash. I like a leisurely lunch, but almost 2 hours was a little much for a small party of 3. Most of it waiting.....
Food was plentiful and delicious. Service was a little slow but we were not in any rush so it was fine. Would go back.
We were seated right away. Food was very good. Service was good. Tables were a little tight together, but will definitely return!

Conveniently located and family friendly. The food is very good and the portions generous. We went for Mother's Day and the place was nicely decorated and offered a special menu.
I took my wife for Mothers day, the food was good, the server was nice but I don't think that they listened very well. I will say that I am very picky about my food and I had requested the asparagus be placed on a separate plate and it was brought on the same plate as the fish and potatoes and I had also requested that their crawfish cream sauce be added to my fish. I was informed that there is a charge for that and I agreed to the fee and then the food came out without the sauce and then before I could get the sauce I had to explain that I wanted it and understood that there is a cost for it to two additional people and low and behold the sauce came to the table but they have now brought two and I did not want to pay for two only the one that I requested, They promptly removed the additional sauce. In general I thought the place was good but that the atmosphere is a bit bland and that the listening skills need improvement.
I found that the prices are a bit high also.
Baked oyster appetizer was tasty. It was ruined by many pieces of oyster shell. Such a shame because it was quite good. Two diners had the soft shell crab with crawfish etouffe. The crab had a very heavy coating. This overwhelmed the delicate crab. The etouffe was not very good. The eggplant Vincent was a much better dish. No one in our party of four really enjoyed our food😒
Good food at reasonable prices. Food is cooked to order which translates to a small wait before food is ready to be served but not a big issue. Good wine list. Good local fresh food items and a variety of dishes from which to choose.
Redfish was excellent. Service was very good. Other courses were very good.
As always the service was great. The Tuna Stack appetizer was perfectly prepared and delicious. Other dishes we had were the artichoke appetizer and veal parmigiana, which were both very good.
Our waitress was great . There were 2 tables there for Lunch. For the price of the food I expected a lot more . Very Disappointed.

Food was great. Had the Grilled Redfish on the half shell. Corn & Crab soup for app was wonderful as well.
