Porter & Luke's
I tried the salmon for the first time and hands down, it is one of the best dishes I have had. The food and service is always wonderful.
I was surprised at the paper napkins. Seems cheap for a place wanting to be “upscale”. Food was good and service was fine. Not memorable but good.
Great dining experience. Can't go wrong with the fried chicken and eggplant Parmesan. We loved our meal, the service was beyond our expectations and the staff was very accommodating. We highly recommend this restaurant!
We were a party of eight and we went to Porter and Luke's for Father's Day, very crowded, very noisy, which we expected. Had some service issues as well, waitress disappeared for quite some time, wrong entrees were served, took a while to get things straightened out. But the food overall was okay, some temperature issues; ribs cold, etc. Again, it was a busy holiday afternoon, not their usual stellar performance.
Father’s Day with a large group Very accommodating.
The best soft shell crab in Louisiana is at THIS restaurant . And don’t forget to order their hot blue crab dip- I’ve never gone and not ordered it. Best red beans and rice I’ve ever tasted-no joke-my family wants theirs now instead of mine. Fried chicken is off the chain. Order Chantilly Lace Cheesecake for dessert-trust me. Excellent service, reasonable prices, nice wine selection and great atmosphere. The locals’ best kept secret. ❤️
Catfish was a disappointment. A few small pieces. Other party had Oyster platter and it was short on the oysters for the price of $22. Another person had eggplant Parmesan and complained about a strange taste
The turtle soup was so good. And the shrimp remoulade was the best!!! Loved the family atmosphere! Price was reasonable and the menu had a lot of choices.
EXCEPTIONAL AS ALWAYS
The service at Porter and Luke’s is exceptional. Never disappoints.
I took Mom out for Mother’s Day and this was the perfect spot. The food and service were excellent but I found the atmosphere and noise level left something to be desired. I will go back again and perhaps on a less busy day I’ll find the noise and atmosphere better.
I really appreciated how easy it was to make a reservation.
The menu surprised us; but had good choices for a special menu. My steak was a little over Medium Rare; but your staff took care of the problem.
We plan to visit again, when the full menu is available
Would recommend this is a great place to take your family!!!!
Food was delicious, waitress excellent, but very noisy. Don’t get me wrong, the noise won’t keep me away because the food is worth putting up with the noise.
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Food was good not great. Service was not that great compared to how many people that were in the restaurant. I would eat here again but order it to go next time.
We had a very nice family meal Ages 12-70 and all enjoyed. very good service
Always delicious Don't ever pass up the crab dip!!!!!
Crab dip is a must! Very friendly staff. Everything was delicious from the appetizers, soups, entrees and dessert. Very casual.
Great service and food
Standard run of the mill New Orleans fare. Good but nothing over the top. Nice waitress served us well
Great place for a casual dinner or drink. Good food, generous portions and attentive service.
Service was great and they accommodated all our special requests and substitutions. Food was great as usual. Chantilly cheesecake was to DIE for.
Very good. Had a Business lunch and the setting and service was just right.
i have had lunch there with a small group - 4-6 and with larger group - 16. same great level of service and meal choice and quality.
one of my favorites.
We had a 9:30 reservation, we arrived at 9:35. The restaurant had booking listed until 10. Upon arrival, they told us they decided to close down the kitchen early and would not seat us, despite reserving the table an hour prior. By the time we left there and found another place, it was after 10 and the restaurants were all closed. We had an hour drive home w nothing to eat due to their poor service and management.
Fries were not good at all, catfish was not fried completely and food was basically cold. But our waiter was really good and attentive
We enjoyed our meal here. There were 4 of us and 2 got the same thing, puppy drum special. The ingredients were fresh and tasted good. I liked the salad. It was a nice new years eve lunch.
We live in the neighborhood and go often. Food is always very good, Prices are reasonable. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. They can accommodate large or small groups.
I had lunch with friends, we ordered the triple wedge salad. It was scrumptious. Our waitress was excellent.
In town for an early flight out of MSY and found this neighborhood gem by luck. Don’t let the strip mall location or plain interior fool you. Great big bar with stiff drinks and some of the best fried seafood I’ve had in a long time.
Food and service is always great. Love their soft shell crabs. I eat in the bar when I’m alone and it’s very comfortable for a woman on her own
A hidden gem. They always exceed expectations in both food and service.
We were quite disappointed. They restaurant was pretty empty but they were out of the special soup. The turtle soup which we offered instead was not good.
It is certainly true that the portions at Porter and Luke are very generous. The food, though was average at best. An order of fried eggplant was huge and tasty, although a bit over breaded. Over breading was also a feature of my catfish special. Is came with a side of green beans that probably were canned. My wife’s veal Parm was tough our server seemed anxious to remove plates and bring the check before we were finished eating. There is much better “Nwe Orleans” food to be had elsewhere.
This was a perfect setting for a few couples looking for traditional local dishes, in Metairie, dressy casual, quiet and never rushed.
So many other dinner restaurants don’t have parking, get so weird with their entrees, and/or have noise levels that aren’t conducive to conversations. Cocktails and service were great, too
Excellent menu selections and specials for this neighborhood gem.
Food was just OK - need to improve on service - too much noise - need to improve - we will try one more time
The food was good New Orleans cuisine. Excellent turtle soup, and the crawfish Vincent was delicious. The fried green tomatoes were also good with nice boiled shrimp on top.
The noise interfered with the experience as several large noisy parties were present.
The service was good. It is not a fancy restaurant but serves good food in a neighborhood location that is convenient.
