Excellent restaurant and food, however too much noise.
An excellent place for lunch, not too far from the Chelsea art galleries and High Line, and less priceythan many other option. The menu is varied, from Argentine specialties to salad and sandwiches, without being encyclopedic (thank goodness!). Our dishes -- a main course salad and an Argentine sandwich -- both got high marks. I'll go back
Lovely Saturday night dinner place with friendly service and delicious food. Very busy (due to small dining room), but cozy and energetic.
very pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. unfortunately the food and drinks were only fair.
Every single thing that came out of that kitchen was incredible and the service was beyond welcoming! I think I found one my favorite new restaurants in the city! How did it take me so long to get here?!
Great neighborhood find. We had a delicious meal with great service. Nice special options in addition to the regular menu. Will definitely return!!!
Anniversary with family
Great place, great staff. Food was amazing and reasonably priced. I would recommend it highly.
had dinner here a year ago, came back for lunch, not as good.
Love everything about Porteno. Never disappoints!
Everything about this place is outstanding, absolutely everything!
Outstanding food, yummy vino selection.
I’ve been many times and plan on going back, again & again...
A new Chelsea neighborhood gem. Hope they aren't destroyed by Landlord blight.
From the cocktails to the wine to the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts and even the coffee, everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared.
Excellent, prompt, friendly service.
PS best empanadas we have ever eaten.
Excellent on every level.
Restaurant was too loud. Short ribs had no flavor. Empanadas were fabulous.
I would go here again for Empanadas and wine in the late afternoon or if the place was empty.
Small but quality menu. Homemade pastas always a highlight
Excellent selection on the menu. Food was fabulous. Staff was so nice and accommodating. Great location. So close to the high line.
Lovely neighborhood find. Good food, terrific service, and small! AND...you can hear yourself and your friends even when the restaurant is full.
Always such a great time here. The food is incredibly balanced, the drinks are on point, and the Porteño team makes every visit memorable.
Great food but server was pretty snarky. Will likely be back.
Great service and ambiance. Food was excellent and perfect for a date night or small friend group.
Friendly staff. Definitely recommend making reservations because it is a small place and fills quickly. Good food, good service.
Chose this place based on reviews and this place is a gem. Food was amazing. Salmon Salad was incredibly tasty and the Bronzino was perfection. Great service too. If only they gave me half a glass of wine instead of 1/3 it would’ve been perfect ;-)
Will definitely visit again.
Enjoyed an early dinner here, pre concert. Had delicious grilled vegetables and a special flank steak with chimichurri, and potatoes. Ended with a yummy caramel flan. The service was wonderful! will return!
Fresh food, good service, a little pricey but expected in New York
Amazing food and amazing service
Love the location and service. I have pasta with sausage but it’s a bit under cook. Love the dessert choices and wine menu.
Great place. Great food. Great servers. I definitely recommend Porteno.
I cannot thank the staff at Porteno Restaurant enough for the wonderful dining experience we had on Tuesday night. Their warmth, service and food were ALL excellent. We felt so well taken care of and catered to. Everyone loved your restaurant! I hope it won't be long until I return!
Great place! Food and wine were excellent!
Remains one of my favourite restaurants in NY. Small but cosy and just real good food with good (weekly) specials.
Service also very good
Charming cozy restaurant with creative cuisine
Bone marrow risotto was spectacular.
great presentation as well
Service was excellent as always
The red quinoa was very salty and the salmon was a little dry. While ordering I requested medium on the salmon but was a bit talked into medium well. I have eaten hear before and it has always been good - just disappointed on this visit.
The waiter was too quick to try to push drinks on us and for a bang average malvec the price was extortionate. The food was well presented but bland. A veal Milanese should have been crispy and instead the bread was very doughy
Good food- lovely place
What a little gem hidden near Hudson Yards. We started with the Empanadas - our favorites were the Caprese and Radicheta. We shared the Calamares and we found it charred and tasty and the vinaigrette lovely. The bread is delicious. All four of us had the LOMITO COMPLETO - it as yummy and fantastic. Amazing and truly a hearty Argentinan sandwich - it's heavy on the protein! I would order the sandwich again, as it as that good. A friend said it could cure a hangover! I had a organic red wine and the drinks were very tasty. The wait team were lovely - attentive without being pushy. It's a little tight and the tables can be moved around to accommodate larger parties.
