Always a pleasure for the food and the fun. Worth the 30 mile drive down I95 to the city.
Great local spot for wonderful Italian run by two incredible brothers
We've dined here many times over 15 years when visiting Philly and have never been disappointed. Excellent, simply prepared Italian dishes in a small and intimate but very welcoming setting. Easy BYOB and terrific owner and waitstaff. A gem!
Excellent dinner! Worth checking out! Staff create home like feel.
This is one of the the BEST Italian restaurants I've eaten at. Staff is really friendly, ambiance is great for a get together with friends or a romantic date, and the food is FANTASTIC. The quality of the food here is just like what I've tasted in Italy, which is very difficult to find in and around Philadelphia. It's by far one of the closest representations of true Italian food that I've had in the US. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
My sister and brother in law were in town visiting. I’ve petsobally been to Porcini before and had a wonderful time- this visit the food was great however the noice level was almost unbareable
Great neighborhood Resturant that made us feel very welcome!! Definitely going back soon!! Food was excellent plus it’s BYOB!!
In a city filled with great restaurants, Porcini is a gem.
We love Porcini!! We've been going to this tiny gem since 1996 when it opened and it has retained it's great food and charm. It is very small so you get to know the people sitting next to you but that adds to the atmosphere!! The food is fantastic - the roasted artichoke hearts amazing!! It's loud but great food and lots of fun!!
Outstanding food and pleasant service. But the noise level -- exacerbated by a birthday party next to us -- was VERY LOUD INDEED!
always a great meal
the food is divine and they make you feel like family
My favorite spot in the city !!!
Ambience is excellent, wait staff and owners add a personal and familiar touch. The food is straightforward and excellent, everything tried has been done to perfection.
I have dined at Porcini on several occasions and each time the food has been outstanding and the service warm and accommodating.
Awesome as usual! Fantastic meal and the brothers entertained and delighted. Always leave with a smile having learned something new.
This is my favorite Italian spot in Philly! Been here a few times and each time was amazing! The staff are super friendly and give the restaurant a real "mom and pop" feel. The food takes the restaurant to a whole new level. There are few places (none really) that have given a more authentic bolognese!!! Love it! Recommend it!
Porcini is a Philly treasure. The real deal for Italian food and ambiance. It is a small space, with a warm atmosphere and wonderfully attentive staff. On our favorite list for years and it never disappoints.
We went to a play and on the way home stopped for dinner. The food was very good, great service and it was very friendly. I would go again.
Food was top notch, service was friendly and outstanding. We all had a delicious meal from start to finish.
Deliciously loud and fun. A top place to dine for those in the know.
First visit to this lovely, albeit noisy and cramped space, restaurant. The food was simply delicious, every dish perfect. Especially appreciate the BYOB so the bill does not make you gasp! Will definitely go back!
Great time... Very enjoyable.
The Food was excellent! The service was great and the Owner David was amazing,When we walked in for our reservation he greeted Us and his sincere attention made the experience that much better. Might be my new favorite restaurant in Philly!
Great restaurant, owners are very engaging and food and service is excellent
Tables on are top of each other and the noise level was horrible. For the two of us, we had to shout across our small table of two in order to hear each other. While the food was very good, the ambiance ruined a nice evening out.
Great food and wonderful staff! Will be back soon.
Arrived for early dinner; server was very attentive; entrees were excellent. the owner was very cordial and felt as though he was "family".
The food here is amazing. The portions are perfect where you feel full/Content and not overly stuffed. Definitely recommending this place to my friends and family.
Although we hit it right smack in the midst of 2 very loud, and I mean very loud, adult groups, we still enjoyed it. This is a small cozy spot. So noise can be a problem if you are unfortunate enough to visit when one large loud and wild group is seated next to you. Two, while highly entertaining, was deafening. However, chef and host are wonderful, really good wait staff, food is excellent! We will definitely go back!
Tight space but it worked for our group. Food was good and service was excellent.
Everyday dining becomes a special occasion. Worth driving 30 miles into the city in the rain on a Friday night.
The food is consistently good and the service is friendly. It can get noisy, especially since the tables are so close together. It's a great neighborhood spot for good Italian food.
Loved this place...our first time here...BUT very noisy! Next time we'll ask to sit upstairs. It is very small, and there was a table of four that couldn't realize they weren't the only people in the restaurant...very inconsiderate people! Food was excellent...
We love Porcini. It's a cozy neighborhood place serving the finest ingredients cooked perfectly. Fresh pastas, great seafood, chicken medallions, and great appetizers. Run by brothers, this is the kind of place every neighborhood wishes it had.
Porcini is a very cute BYOB in a good, central location. We met up with 2 other couples from the suburbs. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, a much better option for us rather than the crowded and loud downstairs. The decor leaves much to be desired - it was a tired, drafty room but fortunately I was seated in front of the portable heater. It took a bit for our server to greet us and take our orders. It appeared she had the entire upstairs to care for. Appetizers were very good - many of us got salads and the garlic bread for the table was great! Main courses were hit or miss. The pastas were marginal but the fish and meat entrees were hits with our friends. I would give it another try.
My favorite place to eat. Best Italian food, ever!
Waitresses did not attend to our needs.
Everything was great from the food to the warm welcome from the owner.
The Sansome brothers bring Porcini's to life and keep it that way all evening! A favorite and welcoming BYOB with outstanding food.
My favorite place, food was delicious. They have this yummy garlic bread that didn’t make the valentines menu but did make it to my table. I was happy that they accommodated my craving.. you guys always do an amazing job cooking.. love porcini, if you haven’t been at least one time you definitely are missing out.. don’t forget BYOB
