Porcini - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
My favorite place, food was delicious. They have this yummy garlic bread that didn’t make the valentines menu but did make it to my table. I was happy that they accommodated my craving.. you guys always do an amazing job cooking.. love porcini, if you haven’t been at least one time you definitely are missing out.. don’t forget BYOB
We went on Valentines day, so naturally the restaurant was packed. A smaller restaurant but the staff did a nice job balancing waiting patrons and a full table list. Fixed menu with options and everything we ordered was delicious. Staff was friendly and working hard to keep things moving, we were in-and-out in under 90 mins. We saw a couple of tables flag down servers but to be expected on such a busy night. Outside of Valentines Day, this place is 5* all the way around. We will definitely be going back.
The food here is incredible and fresh. You can tell that everything is made with care and a love of food. The owner, waitress and chef were extremely knowledgable about where everything came from--the eggs are locally sourced and the ricotta is from Italy! The management was regularly interacting with customers too which was nice.
Highly recommend the dessert--the cannoli was amazing.
My new husband and I were in from out of town and love a good neighborhood Italian restaurant. This place hit the spot. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, the food was hot, fresh and delicious, the restaurant was cozy as can be. You feel as if you're in Dave's kitchen enjoying an out of this world home cooked meal. To top it off the canoli was the best I've had in years. Shell perfectly crisp, cream not to sweet and the perfect consistency. We will never look at our neighborhood joint the same and go back to Philly just to eat here!
It was restaurant week and I thought there would be a RW menu and the regular menu. There was only a RW menu but food was absolutely delicious and we all enjoyed a great meal. The restaurant is not anything fancy but warm and inviting. I brought customers who live in the area but had never been. I'm sure we'll all be back.
What a wonderful time we had at this quaint restaurant located just a few steps away from the comedy show we were going to see afterwards. The staff was aware of our time constraint and made sure we had plenty of time to dine. Service was prompt! Waitress was super sweet and the food was outstanding! I would definitely recommend.
I was expecting authentic Italian food based on the menu and pictures taken from the website but the presentation of the food and quality of food was not what I expected. The staffing was limited that night which led to confusion of orders and lack of attention to serve the table .
Food was good! A friend and I were there for restaurant week. Everything was good all around except for my friend and I had to share a salad? I thought each person paying for restaurant week receive each of their own course, besides that the food was good and it’s byob! I’ll come back again! Risotto was delicious.
My husband and I went to Italy in June, and upon returning were sure we'd never eat food that delicious again. Porcini proved us wrong!!! The food is absolutely to DIE for - fresh and delicate and delectable. We had a ball and the service was wonderful. The ambiance is definitely surprising - it's an old house that is barely converted and, I'll admit, a bit cramped. But again - just like Italy!! We'll definitely be going back and bringing friends!
Great food! All the plates were superb. Normally I don't like desserts in the US, they all taste way too sweet for me, but Porcini's tiramisu was almost perfect (I'd love it to be even a little less sweet). The restaurant is very noisy and very small, which definitely gives it a special charm, but if you are planning to have a quiet or personal conversation it might be challenging. Overall, great place, from now on it'll be my go to Italian.
The food was very authentic Italian and extremely good. They served dishes that I have only had in Rome, and have never seen in the U.S. The restaurant is somewhat small, loud, and cramped, but it makes for a fun, energetic experience. It seems that most patrons are "regulars", which speaks to the loyalty of customers. I will go back in a heartbeat.
Would not suggest to a friend. We ordered an appetizer and asked for long hots on the side but it would be "too hard" as per the waitress. I ordered pappardelle but received pork, when I told the waitress I did not receive an apology, instead the waitress said "well your meal will take longer, 10 minutes" and walked away. Dinner was overpriced, i.e. $35 for mediocre bolognese. We asked for crushed red pepper and received a tiny dish of crushed red pepper, then moments later the waitress asked to "borrow" the crushed red pepper and gave it to the table behind us. Overall, poor service, overpriced, not great food.
