Great time... Very enjoyable.
The Food was excellent! The service was great and the Owner David was amazing,When we walked in for our reservation he greeted Us and his sincere attention made the experience that much better. Might be my new favorite restaurant in Philly!
Great restaurant, owners are very engaging and food and service is excellent
Tables on are top of each other and the noise level was horrible. For the two of us, we had to shout across our small table of two in order to hear each other. While the food was very good, the ambiance ruined a nice evening out.
Great food and wonderful staff! Will be back soon.
Arrived for early dinner; server was very attentive; entrees were excellent. the owner was very cordial and felt as though he was "family".
The food here is amazing. The portions are perfect where you feel full/Content and not overly stuffed. Definitely recommending this place to my friends and family.
Although we hit it right smack in the midst of 2 very loud, and I mean very loud, adult groups, we still enjoyed it. This is a small cozy spot. So noise can be a problem if you are unfortunate enough to visit when one large loud and wild group is seated next to you. Two, while highly entertaining, was deafening. However, chef and host are wonderful, really good wait staff, food is excellent! We will definitely go back!
Tight space but it worked for our group. Food was good and service was excellent.
Everyday dining becomes a special occasion. Worth driving 30 miles into the city in the rain on a Friday night.
The food is consistently good and the service is friendly. It can get noisy, especially since the tables are so close together. It's a great neighborhood spot for good Italian food.
Loved this place...our first time here...BUT very noisy! Next time we'll ask to sit upstairs. It is very small, and there was a table of four that couldn't realize they weren't the only people in the restaurant...very inconsiderate people! Food was excellent...
We love Porcini. It's a cozy neighborhood place serving the finest ingredients cooked perfectly. Fresh pastas, great seafood, chicken medallions, and great appetizers. Run by brothers, this is the kind of place every neighborhood wishes it had.
Porcini is a very cute BYOB in a good, central location. We met up with 2 other couples from the suburbs. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, a much better option for us rather than the crowded and loud downstairs. The decor leaves much to be desired - it was a tired, drafty room but fortunately I was seated in front of the portable heater. It took a bit for our server to greet us and take our orders. It appeared she had the entire upstairs to care for. Appetizers were very good - many of us got salads and the garlic bread for the table was great! Main courses were hit or miss. The pastas were marginal but the fish and meat entrees were hits with our friends. I would give it another try.
My favorite place to eat. Best Italian food, ever!
Waitresses did not attend to our needs.
Everything was great from the food to the warm welcome from the owner.
The Sansome brothers bring Porcini's to life and keep it that way all evening! A favorite and welcoming BYOB with outstanding food.
My favorite place, food was delicious. They have this yummy garlic bread that didn’t make the valentines menu but did make it to my table. I was happy that they accommodated my craving.. you guys always do an amazing job cooking.. love porcini, if you haven’t been at least one time you definitely are missing out.. don’t forget BYOB
We went for Valentines Day dinner, so it was busy and had a special menu. Arrived on time for our reservation and waited under half an hour to be seated. It was great, we plan to go back.
We went on Valentines day, so naturally the restaurant was packed. A smaller restaurant but the staff did a nice job balancing waiting patrons and a full table list. Fixed menu with options and everything we ordered was delicious. Staff was friendly and working hard to keep things moving, we were in-and-out in under 90 mins. We saw a couple of tables flag down servers but to be expected on such a busy night. Outside of Valentines Day, this place is 5* all the way around. We will definitely be going back.
The food here is incredible and fresh. You can tell that everything is made with care and a love of food. The owner, waitress and chef were extremely knowledgable about where everything came from--the eggs are locally sourced and the ricotta is from Italy! The management was regularly interacting with customers too which was nice.
Highly recommend the dessert--the cannoli was amazing.
A new favorite!
Great dinner introducing my new boyfriend to my father.
Owner and staff make you feel like good friends. The service is very good. The food is simple but excellent. We will eat here again, soon.
Food was excellent but a limited menu. It's a nice Italian spot but a bit cramped for table space.
Stephen and David have a wonderful restaurant. Stephen's cooking and David's front of the house hospitality is fun. The food is fantastic. Recommend highly.
Always awesome... small, can be noisy if all tables filled but food, staff, and ambiance are the best. A Philly treasure.
My new husband and I were in from out of town and love a good neighborhood Italian restaurant. This place hit the spot. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, the food was hot, fresh and delicious, the restaurant was cozy as can be. You feel as if you're in Dave's kitchen enjoying an out of this world home cooked meal. To top it off the canoli was the best I've had in years. Shell perfectly crisp, cream not to sweet and the perfect consistency. We will never look at our neighborhood joint the same and go back to Philly just to eat here!
Cacio e pepe topped with fresh fried duck egg special - best ever, anywhere.
My wife and I dined at Porcini with another couple. We all found the food quite good and the service pleasant and attentive as well. The space is very small and the noise level became quite high at times, making it hard to converse.
Delicious food. Incredible and attentive staff made us feel right at home.
It was restaurant week and I thought there would be a RW menu and the regular menu. There was only a RW menu but food was absolutely delicious and we all enjoyed a great meal. The restaurant is not anything fancy but warm and inviting. I brought customers who live in the area but had never been. I'm sure we'll all be back.
It was quite busy due to Restaurant Week, but the staff was wonderful and the food was excellent!
Love the food and the service. Only complaint is the noise. A lot of people in a small space makes it difficult to hold a conversation.
Food was particularly disappointing!
Great food in a cozy setting. Go early to avoid crowding. Restaurant space is so small that new diners seem to hover as they wait to be seated.
What a wonderful time we had at this quaint restaurant located just a few steps away from the comedy show we were going to see afterwards. The staff was aware of our time constraint and made sure we had plenty of time to dine. Service was prompt! Waitress was super sweet and the food was outstanding! I would definitely recommend.
