Always excellent menu selections, specials, and service. A great loud yet intimate dining experience.
The best! Everything homemade, very intimate and the friendliest owners on the planet
Great as always!
The food was exceptional - salads and entrees - with wonderful sauces and spices. The host and Co-owner, David, couldn’t have been friendlier and more welcoming.
Overall - a wonderful experience!
We were celebrating my husbands birthday. The food was excellent, the wait staff was so friendly. We loved the intimate setting and the food was amazing!! We will definitely go back the next time we are in town.
Unfortunately when full it can
be so loud that you cannot hear your table mates.
This has become our favorite restaurant. The owner, chef and servers are all as wonderful as the food.
Our local go to for consistently delicious Italian food. These guys have survived decades because it’s all about the food!
The food was fantastic. The two waitstaff was the best we ever had. We generally dine out in the best restaurants in Phila. and suburbs and enjoyed this occasion tremendously. The owner of the restaurant spent quite a lot of time with us and couldn’t have been more fun. My highest recommendation goes out to this restaurant.
We’ve never had a bad meal or experience at Porcini. The staff is amazing, the food is FANTASTIC, and the atmosphere is electric. Cozy, friendly, and just the best little find in Philly! The fact that it’s BYOB just adds to its focus on the food!
Some new items on the menu - the bucatini carbonara is excellent! Always a fun dining experience.
the homemade pasta and sauces were excellent, looking forwarding to my next trip to Philly.
Always fantastic food and such friendly service ! Thanks David and Steve
This has been a favorite of ours for many years. Hands down, this is the best pasta I have ever had. It is so fresh! When you combine that with their blush/vodka sauce (and some mixed veggies which we asked for) you can’t beat it. Caesar salad was great and so was the garlic bread. Lots of meat options too! The owners are lovely- so friendly. We love Porcini!!!
This cozy little Italian restaurant is rapidly becoming one of our favorites in Center City. Although the room is small in size the hospitality is warm and welcoming, pasta is freshly made and portions are
appropriate not overwhelming. Thanks to David, Ashley and an excellent kitchen staff we are looking
forward to returning next week.
Always a delicious and authentic dining experience - I brought a friend for her first time and she absolutely loved it - fresh pasta - the ravioli with Osso Bucco fabulous! I had the most amazing dessert - I can’t get the name in Italian but I means 1000 layers - so light and fluffy but so heavy with sinful sweetness custard and fresh crepe in a layers of puff pastry
We always love coming to Porcini. The food is delicious and the service friendly and attentive. Our major complaint is the noise level. It can be deafening as it was last night and this distracts from the whole experience. The small, intimate quality of Porcini (which we love!) would be greatly enhanced if the noise level could be controlled, maybe with ceiling baffles. Advice: go early or late.
It was crowded and a little warm, but the food and service are always out-of-sight! There is no better home cooked Italian meal in Center City - and no place that makes the customer feel more welcome and appreciated. Bravo!
Great food and great service. Love that they are BYOB. Love very this place.
We love Porcini. The food is amazing, portion size is perfect, and you can't beat the price. Highly recommend.
Two brothers cane to Philly from Buffalo and give us some really special homemade Italian food. One of the best around.
One of my favorite Italian places in the city!
Great place. Took my girlfriend here for her birthday and she loved it. Small place with an intimate setting and very friendly staff. The food was phenomenal. The sauces are delicious with all fresh ingredients and the parmesan tops off the amazing dishes... Don't miss out on the tiramisu for dessert.
The food was great and the service was very friendly. Parking right across the street.
Excellent small Italian restaurant....byob!
We love Porcini. Go there almost monthly. The food is always top notch with service to match. The owners, David & Steven (brothers) are a riot. The pasta and sauces are awesome, the veal too. It’s a small space so be prepared to rub elbows.
We have been here many times and am never disappointed. David and his brother are the best. The service is wonderful and the food is always fresh.
Stopped in for dinner before heading over to Helium based on other reviews of the food and atmosphere. Food was all amazing. Staff, owners, chef all made it feel like a family meal at my favorite Italian Aunts house. Friendly people, great food, reasonable prices and the most amazing dessert. We'll be back!!!
All good...All of it...Great staff too...Just go. Only minor issue, a bit noisy on a busy night, which is usually always...
My wife and I have been going to Porcini for almost 20 years. You have to be a pretty great restaurant to survive in a tough business for that long, and Porcini is just that - GREAT. Small room that can get pretty lively. Personal attention from the staff. And excellent Italian food. We make sure to get back 2-3 times per year, and we always have a wonderful experience. Enjoy!
Very dismissive wait staff
My all time favorite BYOB in Philly! Every time we go there, we love it even more.
Porcini was excellent! However we had 7:30 pm reservations and we were finished by 8:30. Got the feeling that we were being rushed out of the restaurant for further reservations.
David and Emily make you feel like you're the only ones in the restaurant. And we appreciate it especially when we are the only ones in the restaurant! They never act like they have somewhere else to be!!! Just a nice place to dine.
Their regular menu already has some winners, but they never disappoint us with their specials! The fresh ingredients and execution of the meals paired with their moderate pricing can't be beat!
Also, the owner (David) is a character and really makes your entire experience more enjoyable. I suggest making a reservation before a show at Helium Comedy Club or Roxy Theater located across the street.
Pasta dish with crab that was special was fabulous
Porcini sets, and holds, the high bar for the Philly BYOB restaurant of simple, wonderful, food that happens to be Italian cuisine; in a small, perfect, package of a spot. David & Steven make this look easy - it is far from that; yet always with success & a smile. (Took my mother there this last Saturday - it was she who introduced me to it years ago: her 5-start review was composed of empty plate(s), an enormous smile, and a hug from David, who never forgets.)
This restaurant serves authentic Italian food. It was VERY tasty and I will definitely be back. It is also BYOB.
Food is amazing !!!
Very tight seating but offers a very personalized feeling. Food was impressive. Owner and servers very attentive
