We did not enjoy our dinner at all. We went for my son’s 20th birthday and the wait staff treated us poorly and acted annoyed the entire time. The carbonara was the worst we have had. I was extremely disappointed and will not go back.
I have been going to Porcini for many years. It's been a year or 2 since our last visit and we were disappointed for the first time. The service was very unfriendly, did not greet the first person in our group to arrive (she had to seat herself) and the inside of the restaurant has gotten a little shabby. The food, as always, was excellent.
small, very noisy restaurant off the beaten path but food was absolutely amazing. this is exactly how restaurants that locals patronize in Italy are like.
Always delicious imaginative food, artfully prepared.
Cheerful ambience, relaxed, informal, and friendly.
Graceful service in a family- like manner.
Energetically relaxing ambiance. Great food, great service, great fun.
Amazing food with great service. Small inside but very intimate. I can’t wait to go back!
I recommend Porcini to all my friends who visit Philly!
Excellent food, excellent service, can’t wait to go back.
Amazing food in a homey cozy spot. Byob makes it a reasonable tab at the end of the night
A small, intimate restaurant with a wonderful family style ambiance. Great Italian food like you might find in a trattoria in Rome or Milan. We had a great meal, and we will definitely come back again!
Definitely worth a visit. Excellent and authentic food. Will be going back.
Service was lackadaisical at best. Waitress spilled water on tablecloth and asked if we wanted it replaced, as if eating off a wet tablecloth would have been acceptable. Never checked back to see how we were doing despite the fact that they weren't yet that busy.
The food is incredible!
What's not to like. The quarters are tight but the greeting, service, food, byob, and cost lead to a most pleasant dining experience in a family run place.
Dinner with my niece and her boyfriend.
The staff was wonderful and the food was good. A little noisy but a nice experience. Would recommend
This rather small restaurant is quite welcoming. What it lacks in size, it develops in the quality of the food. The cantaloupe, ravioli and sauces were very good. The cannoli excellent. I personally prefer a chilled Caesar salad rather the the temperate style served, however the portion size and dressing were very good. Service was timely and not overbearing. Due to the size of the room and closeness of the tables, the restaurant was full, the noise level was VERY LOUD. This is a spot for good food and good times, not a romantic setting. And remember to BYOB.
Noisy due to big party upstairs and our rowdy party. Steve and David knocked it out of the park again. Absolutely great evening, awesome food.
Food was delicious and wait staff were perfect combination of attentive without being overbearing. A neighborhood gem!
Overall, just an average experience. Appetizers were the highlight. Second floor seating, extremely noisy, partly due to inconsiderate group table in a small space. Entree's were good but not great, one pasta dish did not live up[ to description, pork loin was good. Desert, cannoli shell was hard as a rock. Waitede quite awhile for a party of two service.
Our favorite BYOB when we are in town and want a friendly neighborhood great Italian meal!
My favorite place... love the pollo Milanese and the yummy cannoli! Tight quarters but David keeps everyone happy!
Was too noisy food was good but could have gave you a little bit more for what you paid
Tiny homey location. Incredible food and service. We forgot to bring our own wine, but were supported by someone else's leftover bottles. Highly highly recommend!
My favorite spot in Philly. I have been going to college at Villanova and would take my family there when they were in town. Just graduated so we had our last Porcini dinner for a while but it is the most incredible food, atmosphere and is an experience I always look forward to. I
Like the food. But... seating is very cramped ... noise level was so high that it is hard to have any conversation.
Fabulous food and service.
Just a little loud.
Definitely will go back and recommend!!
The food is consistently good. I live close by and am a regular. The squid appetizer rivals the artichoke hearts for my favorite, and all the pasta entrees are wonderful. The fact that it’s a byob makes it quite affordable.
Great place all around. Great food service and atmosphere. We go ever year and Dave and Stephen never disappoint us with a great meal.
Our favorite byob!! Love this place!😄
As with other visits Porcini remains one of our favorites. While the intimate size may be a little shocking for those used to the new trend of “warehouse” eating, it ultimately feeds into a more focused connection with the food and dining companions. While the noise may rise, it ebbs and flows with folks conversations. Of course, the food is on point, as usual.
Angela was fantastic she was out of this world accommodating and get conversationalist. Well be back!
I live in California, come to Philly once a year to work and ALWAYS eat here. Just delicious.
Energetically relaxing dining. Excellent house-made pasta specials.
The only negative was the low quality bread served.
How difficult is it to get first class Italian bread for a classy place with excellent food?
Lovely, small, intimate space. Scrumptious food and friendly service!
Food and service always good in this intimate space. Traditional Italian, simply prepared with great ingredients. Roman artichoke appetizer was perfect amount, fantastic garlic bread and the Osso bucco ravioli was tender, flavorful with great sauce. Tiramisu light and perfect ending. Wonderful service from friendly knowledgeable staff. Just go.
Artichoke app was delicious and just enough for two. Bread was ok, but Tusan infused olive oil served with a creamy ricotta was addictive. Duck carbonara special and Paglia e Fieno al Telefono were fantastic, cooked very well. Would've liked a lighter salad. Got the broiled brussel sprouts which for the price should be a more creative side. Tiramisu was perfect for two and well made. BYOB
