The food was delicious! Also, make sure to ask for the garlic bread. We went later in the evening so it was very quiet. Our waiter was extremely attentive and answered every question. Portion sizes are large so you may have leftovers for the next day.
Wonderful, as usual
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant, if you're in the mood for Italian. The food is always great, as is the service. A little noisy, but a cheerful place for a good meal. Can get pretty busy, so a reservation, during peak dinner hours is a good idea.
If you are hungry for Italian this is the place! They have a extensive menu. They also have early birds before 5:30 that include salad or soup and a glass of house wine, most of those dishes start at $13.95.
The portions were very large and the food was good... but not knock your socks off. The appetizers were actually tasty but the entrees were a little bland. It was busy and seems like a nice family place. I think the food is the kind that most people will enjoy but not crave to go back to. The service was good.
We will be back and like your place very much. Keep up the good food ands service.
Poppy’s is always our go to for fabulous Italian food. Our meal today was delicious as always. However our waiter was not very interested in giving good service to us. So very disappointing. We will be taking a break from Poppy’s.
We sat outside because the weather was perfect. Everything about the experience was extraordinary!
Food was delish, be sure to sit in Helen's section. Perfect attention to detail!
Service was excellent and prompt. Out of the 3 entrees, two were excellent and one was problematic. The latter was unacceptable because the pasta was cold. No way to tell how or why that happened. The waitress quickly apologized and replaced the entree. Ordinarily this restaurant has been appealing and without problems. We have been there numerous times and will return. The portions are generous and the food tasty. Both food and drink are reasonably priced. This is a popular restaurant and with good reason. We will assume this incident was highly unusual and unlikely to be repeated.
We had an amazing dinner and our waiter Martin was great! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Macy our server was phenomenal. Definitely a good addition! Ciao!
Wonderful dinner and excellent service as usual! The pasta meat sauce was the best I’ve ever had! The Chicken Picata was excellent as well.
We've probably eaten at Poppy's 20 times. This Sunday night it was, as always, very busy. However, our meal experience took a full two hours, due apparently to a slow/overworked kitchen. There seemed to be plenty of servers and clean up folks and everyone was visibly hustling. This is probably a one time issue. We'll certainly come back. The food is consistently good and the staff very friendly and accommodating.
Always a treat to go To Poppy’s . Family run, super friendly staff, food is cooked to order, great gravy, superb salads, soups. Been a neighborhood staple for many years. Early bird dining provides slightly smaller portion with a glass of wine. Don’t miss this gem.
Excellent as usual! Eggplant Parmesan was delicious as was the veal Piccata. And they had the Lemon Cake that night do it was just that much better. Always a favorite!
Excellent Italian food and very reasonable prices.
it's been about 3 - 4 months since we last went there for dinner, a bit of a drive for us. other than the carbonara which was excellent, the eggplant was mushy, must not have drained it overnight, the calamari was not very crispy. the red sauce needed more flavor
Awesome Italian food at a great price and atmosphere
Great service, waitress was outstanding and asked many times if there was anything we needed and asked about the food we had ordered. Food was delicious and in large quantities, great value.
We’ve been searching for an Italian restaurant in this area for months. We are visiting family for the next three months. As compared to Philly or Palm Springs, Ca, there isn’t much here in the Ponte Vedra Jacksonville area with good Italian food. This Poppys has it all: gray service, very good food, and fair pricing. That’s a trifecta that can’t be beat.
Great service, wonderful food and I nice atmosphere.
The waitress was perfect.
Excellent food, great atmosphere!
This place is awesome and will definitely go back. The only complaint is that don’t offer mixed drinks , only beer and wine. BUT the food and service is so good I will definitely go back. The presentation of the garlic bread was beautiful and soooooo delicious!
Just a OK neighborhood place..
It is a favorite of Nocatee plus my family from Nyc and NJ always want to come here during their visit.
I have been here many times and have always had a great experience. Food is great and service awesome.
Food delicious, service by Victoria was excellent
Always wonderful food and excellent service. Our favorite Italian in the Jacksonville area.
Really just an average restaurant....since it's very popular, I can only imagine there aren't many other choices in the area.
As a second generation Italian-American I've eaten a lot of Italian dishes, and I was not impressed with Poppy's food. Garlic bread was nearly impossible to cut. Way too much garlic! I had veal marsala and it was ok, nothing to write home about, maybe a 5 out of 10. My wife had baked manicotti. The pasta was flat and the stuffing tasted like a combination of cheeses. Most of the taste came from the excessive cheese topping. I tasted it and would give it a 1 out of 10. Manager waived cost of the manicotti, but never came over to us to find out why we did not like it. Overall, I was not impressed. Hopefully this review will be used as I mostly saw positive reviews and that is why I choose to make a reservation there. I would not recommend this restaurant, especially to any of my Italian friends!!
The food and the service were both outstanding and the portions were huge. The live accordion music gave it a real Italian feel but our table was right next to the accordionist which made it a little hard to carry on a conversation. But we will definitely return.
Best Italian food in Jacksonville! Service is always great and very personable. Family favorite
Poppy’s never disappoints. Good food andcservice
Very nice wholesome Itailian, good for families and special occaisions.
Good food and good service. Friendly neighborhood restaurant.
Simply the best lil' Italian spot in the neighborhood!
Food was great. Dirty cheese dispenser on table. Wine list needs a refresh with better wines. Hasn’t changed in years. Nice service.
The bread was great. Wine, good. Food was good. Service was very good.
