Popi's Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
My third time at Popi's and I was a little let down. The antipasta plate was ok, some of the meats weren't very fresh. Our bread arrived sometime after our appetizer which was annoying. The oil dip for the bread was loaded with chopped onion and tomato which made it more like a salsa -- not what I was looking forward to. I ordered crab cakes and was very disappointed. Mostly filler and dry and just blah.
Our waiter was great, our hostess was great. The wine was great. The location is perfect for pre-show at the Wells Fargo Center. Parking was good.
Found Popi's online somehow and glad that I did! Great menu choices for my whole family. Service was superb. We has to rush our order a little due to a concert later in the evening. Our server knew just how to fit the meal in (even an appetizer) without us feeling rushed. I actually will go back again soon when I am in the area to enjoy the atmosphere (and the wine) at a little more slower pace. The calamari app was perfectly seasoned and tender. Our meals were great.
Nice restaurant in a nice neighborhood in South Philly with plenty of parking. Within walking distance of the stadiums. Ordered a Popi salad and a Penne Bolognese and both were very good. Restaurant is a little loud but the tables are far enough apart that you don't feel too distracted by other conversations. The staff is friendly and I would definitely go back again and that is the best compliment I can give to Popi's!
Love this spot. I have been her countless times. Great food wonderful chef. My only complaint was my server...a bit on the sarcastic side and appeared disinterested asked for a drink stayed he would be back momentarily however 20 minutes later nothing. This is not a reflection on any other staff person as i have dealt wirh all of them and they were awesome
I took a friend and my cousin out to dinner before a show at the Wells Fargo Center. The menu selections were good, the specials were very special, and the drinks were delicious.
The staff were very responsive to our needs and very welcoming.
We all had a wonderful time
Food was excellent we both enjoyed our veal choices. Our reservation was for 7:45 pm seated right away. There was a do in the bar area which got a bit loud during dinner but we enjoyed hearing some familiar songs wished we lived closer we would of stayed to dance .
Overall we had a great dinner we will be back
Excellent service and wonderful authentic Italian cuisine! Well known for their specialty crabcakes as well. Excellent seasonal menu with homemade selections. Vibrant bar scene with local celebrity entertainment. Great for luncheons and specials dinner occasions. Neighborhood go-to!
We had dinner here before a concert, and our waiter Paul made sure that we got a great meal and got out in time to make our show. All the service staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was classic Italian, but the extra touches of flavor made it special. I loved the bruscetta!
Always enjoy dining at Popi's . I have never been disappointed with a meal at this restaurant. Great Italian dining without a lot of heavy seasoning.
Staff is always friendly and accommodating.
I have recommended Popi's to my friends and family and they too enjoy the experience.
I won a gift certificate for 50.00 in a raffle. We live in the far North East of Philadelphia and thought of the time and miles involved in using the gift certificate. We decided to go for dinner on Sunday, August 13th and found Popi's to be a good find. The food was excellent and the personnel was very friendly. Our waiter was Ramond, bus boy I think was Dan or Donald. we had a good experience and even though the distance was an issue we will be eating at Popi's.
Sincerely Lou K
We had a traffic experience that are pre-theater meal. We were greeted & seated timely. Outstanding overall service. Three of us ate soup to nuts for $125.00. We had an authentic anti-Pasta along with lamb chops for an appetizer. A wonderful pasta dinner, coffee & cannoli. My friends that have never been to poppies ,were extremely impressed with the meal . Highly recommend!
The food, atmosphere, and service were outstanding. Literally, the best restaurant meal I've eaten. There was a comfortable hum of conversation and laughter throughout the restaurant. The server was outstanding. Always attentive without being intrusive. The staff allowed us to utilize a nearby high top table for our business materials. Very nice and accommodating. I would recommend Popi's to anyone seeking a great meal in a great atmosphere at a superior establishment.
