We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). He has created innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.

I have never had a bad experience here. The food is always amazing and the customer service is the BEST!! They should teach courses on their customer service alone!! Highly recommend. A must try spot!

Great service, good and experience. Sat outside with my family. Not a lot of seating but just right for an intimate environment in a beautiful day. We started off with the Calamari and had 5 different and nothing disappointed us, including the drinks.

Let me just say—Poor Calvin’s never disappoints, and our recent visit was nothing short of phenomenal thanks to the exceptional service from Luisa! From the moment we were seated, Luisa made us feel like VIPs. Her timing, attentiveness, and warm personality checked every box for perfect service. She knew the menu inside and out, made great recommendations, and never missed a beat. We went with the specials—shrimp eggrolls and a surf and turf with mashed potatoes and broccolini. We also had the wontons and a decadent combination of drunken lobster and shrimp that was absolutely bursting with flavor. The presentation was stunning, and every bite was seasoned to perfection. To end the night, we had their signature pound cake dessert, and let’s just say—it deserves its own fan club! If you’re looking for top-tier service, elevated comfort food, and an experience worth talking about, Poor Calvin’s is the place. And if you’re lucky enough to have Luisa as your server, you’re in for something truly special.

The service was great, very attentive without being annoying. The food was delicious and the right amount of food. I would definitely go back. The only issue I had was with people at another table being super loud and annoying, but the restaurant isn’t responsible for the behavior of the patrons.

Poor Calvin’s never disappoints. We made a special trip to Atlanta, just to eat here for our anniversary. It has been years since our last visit and it was even better.
