Absolute must try if you are in Atlanta. Great food and beverages. Deviled Eggs are possibly the most creative and best ever! The fried chicken is top notch as well as all entrees. Make sure to save room for dessert. My favorite is their twist on a candy apple, but all desserts are out of this world. Cocktails are seasonal and crafted with fresh and delicious ingredients. My top two are the Jasmine Manhattan and Frankly My Dear!
Fun place with interesting (and yummy)food. Cocktails were inventive but didn’t make it—a bit overdone. Great service! Definitely try it!
Fun spot, very creative food and presentation. For such a high level establishment, a little Hard to eat gluten free as much is breaded and fried. Not much option to alter, from server anyway.
Delicious meal before show at the Fox. Valet parking. Easy in and out with a 5:30 or 6 reservation. The food was terrific. Highly recommend!
Wonderful and cozy. Excellent customer service!
Wonderful service from Sylvia and tasty food. In Atlanta on business but it felt like a party!
Upon arriving, we check in for 8:30 reservation which we were able to be seated immediately 30 minutes early. After being seated, we were greeted by one of the sweetest waitresses. Her name is Linda I believe, but forgive me I am bad with names sometime. She asked where we celebrating anything special and also did we have any food allergies she should be aware of. She recommended great drink selections and explain the menu in full detail and answered all questions about the food items that we had. Everything from appetizers to dessert was amazing!!! My partner and I enjoyed every part of the experience, from the amazing food to the romantic yet energizing atmosphere. This was our first time at Poor Calvin's but it would definitely not be our last. You have gained lifetime customers! Five star experience!!!
We had the beef and fried chicken and it was wonderful!
Amazing food married with amazing service!!! I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Poor Calvin’s never disappoints!
Excellent restaurant for special occasion or everyday dining. Superior wait staff, excellent bartender/cocktails and beautiful food presentation. Six of us had different entrees and all exceeded expectations.
Both the food and ambience were outstanding. A great location to eat with friends or for date night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our date night at Calvin's. We had seafood spring rolls, frog legs, calamari, and seafood siam wok. The spring rolls were crispy and the seafood filling was scrumptous with a good balance of meat and vegis. The frog legs - tender and tasty. And the calamari was excellent. The wok is always a favorite with the generous portions of seafood and vegetables in a rich broth with a hint of spice. Delicious! My only regret was not saving room for Calvin's signature desserts. There's always the next time :-) Always great service each time we visit. We will be back soon. Highly recommend!
Excellent service. James and the Bar crew are on point. Food fabulous
Had an awesome experience at Poor Calvin’s! The cocktails and food were phenomenal and the service even better! It was my first time there, but definitely won’t be the last.
Love this place!
I have never had a bad experience. Food and service is always top notch. You have a customer for life!!!
We had a fabulous experience and will definitely be back. Service was amazing (our server Tim was so attentive and informative about the dishes). The food was excellent and a great price. Already planning our next visit!
Nice place to eat and drink, food was delicious.
I always enjoy Poor Calvin's. No other brunch spot does it for me. And Sha Na Na is my favorite waitress.
I made reservations for 6 for my birthday. When my party got there which was a few minutes late we were told since there were only 5 of us we needed to be seated immediately and that the last person would not be able to sit at our table. I have never heard of anything like that before. So we called the last person and he didn’t answer. We decided to sit down in hopes that he would eventually make it. 3 minutes later he walked to the table with a special gift for me. They proceeded to tell my guest he would have to sit at the bar. My whole party was very upset and wanted to leave but decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was amazing and the food was great. We may return.
Great food, make sure you have reservations and it’s a little more quaint than I thought. Overall great service.
Fantastic service, and the food was excellent. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and guided us through the experience with ease. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for flavorful food and a nice ambiance.
Food was creative and amazing as always! One of my top ten’s for midtown Atlanta!
Love this place. We always get the Lobster wontons. Usually get the Lobster fried rice. I’ve enjoyed everything I have tried. Good cocktails, friendly wait staff.
As usual, Poor Calvin’s was delicious. Our dining experience was exceptional from the service to the food. I will definitely return for yet another great dining experience. Kudos!!
Great experience! Lola was so much fun!
I've dined at Poor Calvin's before; however, this was by far my best experience. Everything was wonderful! I took my mom to celebrate her birthday and she loved it. Our service was fantastic - knowledgeable and attentive from beginning to end. I'm already planning my next visit.
Food was okay, but nothing special. For how expensive the fried chicken dish was, I would have expected a better-prepared piece of chicken with the fat cut away and perhaps the meat separated from the bone.
Likewise, the lobster mac-n-cheese seemed kind of pedestrian and not the treat I was hoping for.
The dumplings were okay, but nothing you can't buy frozen from Costco.
Nothing was bad, but I can't see a need to return.
Went there for my birthday. The food was amazing, the staff was great. It was perfect. I would definitely recommend it for dates!
Poor Calvin's was amazing! All the good things I heard were true and I can't wait to go back again.
Birthday celebration and the food was great and the service even better!
We went to Poor Calvin’s on a visit to Atlanta. The restaurant was very loud, having a conversation wasn’t that easy. The hostess was very attentive, we had reservations so we were seated right away. The service was not great, it seems we waited an abnormal length of time to order and get refills of drinks, we were there on a weekend but went early and it wasn’t crowded so I’m not sure what that says. The food was outstanding if your not a vegetarian. I had the salmon fritters and they were amazing. My friend had the vegetable stir fry and it was tasteless and poorly cooked. The manager did step up and bring something else and take that entree off the bill. 👍🏻
The Mac and Cheese was truly one of the best I’ve had.
Overall I recommend you try this place, it’s worth it but not a place I would visit frequently.
Always a winner! Excellent service. Great ambience. Delicious food!
Poor Calvin's is one of my Go To Restaurants. I love the food and the staff. Everyone I bring here loves it. I just wish it were a little bigger.
Poor Calvin's is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. I normally come here for dinners, but this time we are here for brunch. It was great experience. The red-velvet cake is a must .
Fantastic. Always love dining here when in Atlanta. A must visit every time!
