The food was great!!!
Terrific food and excellent service, easy parking and friendly staff. The fried flounder Prik ?? was superb, as was the NZ lamb chops and basil rolls. Terrific restaurant.
Simply outstanding! We need you in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Always good food and service!!
Excellent place to go for date night birthday anniversary etc.
Food was wonderful. Some of the items were unexpectedly better than we thought. Waiter was very knowledgable and super friendly. Dessert was huge and delicious. Great overall experience and will absolutely come back again in the near future.
Great FOOD and service!!!
Overall great experience and great food. Server was very knowledgeable and explained each question asked in detail.
Using the app made my experience so much better. There were people waiting for over an hour but because I booked ahead of time, I was able to be seated within 10min. Once seated, I was greeted by the waitress (who affectionately goes by Shan-na-na-na-na) that was knowledgeable and personable. Then the food (my mouth is still watering) was delicious.
Awesome dinner for family of three. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Visiting on vacation from Arkansas. Will return again.
One of my favorite spots in Atlanta. The weather was beautiful so I had a chance to dine outside. Food and drinks were on point and there was a line to dine, as usual. Definitely recommend making a reservation in advance.
Food was excellent, very original dishes, lots of options and great service. Experience would have been better if they had more sugar-free drink options, however. All drinks are sweetened, as are entrees and obviously, their outstanding desserts. Will definitely return!
My long-time college friends and I chose this as a middle meeting spot. We love good food and definitely were not disappointed. The service was amazing. All staff were friendly and attentive. Our waiter made good recommendations and lucky for us, Calvin himself was in the kitchen! We love a lively atmosphere but the noise was a little high pitched. Some textiles or other sound dampening measures could make a world of difference. Parking is tough but the valet service works well!
The presentation of the food and the flavor were outstanding. Although the atmosphere is intimate, the tables were a bit too close for my comfort. I will definitely return to try more items on the menu.
Cant say enough about the experience and food. The valet parking is free which is great for any restaurant in atl. I highly recommend this place.
Everything was perfect! As usual!
Ready to take your taste buds on an interesting journey? This is the place. Be ready for tough decisions though. You'll have problems deciding on what to order. For those of you who are like me and this may be your only time to eat there, avoid the deviled eggs. They are just okay and there are other appetizers that have to be better. The lobster fried rice was wonderful!
Consistently some of the best food in Atlanta. Inventive and flavorful, unique and exquisitely seasoned. Unified dishes. Fantastic.
We had a wonderful meal again as usual. The food is excellent always, very consistent.
The drinks were good. The bar staff very friendly. The rest of the place needs some serious cleaning.
They were not willing to make any accommodation for my vegan wife. Every food item was pre- made. I would never go back here again for food.
No valet availability, over crowded, under staffed
Amazing food and very attentive service.
Will go back!
Great place that’s tucked off and the food was great. And by far the strongest drinks I’ve had in Atlanta
This place is ‘culinary heaven’. Every single plate we ordered was filled with love. Flavor in every bite. This was my second time here in two weeks. Please, save room for dessert.
My party had a member who chooses to eat gluten free and was not happy with the choices in house, there were more options shown online. Eating gluten free is her choice not due to any medical condition. We chose to share food and our waiter continued to remind us of the gluten amounts in the shared food. We felt we were being observed by the gluten police. She attempted to order the gluten free fried chicken and the gluten side and was denied the option which was confusing to us. Since we are all adults and the menu clearly stated what was gluten and what was gluten free we were annoyed that we could not make our own decisions. Overall, the food was good, I am not sure if I will be returning since the options are misrepresented online and in house limited.
Love this place
Amazing food the lobster fried rice is to die for
Everything was absolutely ridiculous in the best way. The food was outstanding, the server was so on top of everything and the birthday dessert... just wow. We had the beignet basket (the cheeses and compote... wow), shrimp and cheese grits, pineapple fried rice with shrimp, and the chicken with sweet potato waffle. Unreal how amazing everything is.
The food was amazing, but the treatment we received while waiting to be seating was not so great. One of the hostess had a
really bad attitude. I recommend getting her some customer service training.
Fab for Foodies ! We had the spring roll, lobster mac & cheese appetizers...both tasty and would get again. We shared the shrimp and scallop with ink pasta, our server warned it was hot, but we didn't find it uncomfortable at all. If you like and are used to some heat you'll enjoy this dish, which is rich and tasty. My husband had the Bourbon based drink with Pear and I had the Frankly My Dear Gin drink, both worthy and tasty. Foodie priced and worth it....no room for dessert !
Amazing food! Everything was delicious.
Food overall was really good but there was an awful smell when we walked in. We came in for lunch at 11:35, the first people in. The restaurant smelled like bad seafood and cleaning products which made me very nervous to eat there. However, we decided to stay and the food did not disappoint.
Poor Calvin's is by far my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. The food is always amazing and the ambiance is unmatched. I have been here several times and NEVER have had to send anything back, including drinks! Anytime someone comes in town, I always recommend that they visit Poor Calvins, always! This time my waitress, was attempting to fit in or "relate" to the table (of all black women) , and she honestly went beyond overboard. I won't charge it to anyone this time, but if it happens again I will definitely have to involve management.
I've been here 3 times, twice in the last week on business travel. Get there early, before 6 if you don't want noise or to get a table with no notice. Bar is great, drinks and the bartenders. Really liked Katie! High end bourbons, and interesting mixed drinks. Try the Pho drink for something unique that I've never seen a version of anywhere else, that's if you like Pho the soup. All 3 times food has been fantastic. Seafood curry has been my favorite, followed by lamb chops, then the lobster fried rice. Also had the grouper special one time which was great, but liked the others better. Any time you're out of town and go the same restaurant twice, that's a pretty good compliment.
Awesome food waiter was great!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. Poor Calvin’s is consistently delicious. No complaints from me! Lobster Mac + Lobster Fried Rice is to die for !
Great restaurant. Great food and great service without the fuss.
It was really good flavorful. Staff prompt and attentive . Very sketchy neighborhood to be there too late . hostesses were loud while talking and laughing with each other kind of ruined the mood for an intimate dinner. The dacor could really use some updating everything just looked old and used up.
Great experience. Waiter was knowledgeable. Food and drinks came out quickly. I gave it a 4 overall because we made a reservation but someone else checked in under our names so we had to wait.
Fantastic! AJ my waitress was the best!
