Food was good. SERVICE was outstanding!
The cocktails are divinely made and the ink pasta was absolutely fantastic
Every dish had loads of flavors. Each bite was delicious. The servers were polite and attentive. Wonderful experience!
This was one of my favorite restaurants and I'm so sad to see how much it has gone down hill. When you walk in there is broken tiles on the floor and it smells like mold. It was so loud that we couldn't have a conversation, we asked the waiter if it was possible to move but he said it wouldn't help. My favorite dish the lobster fried rice had a tiny lobster on top (4 bites) and I couldn't detect any in the rice.
We had a blast great food and service. We were a bit disappointed that the cocktails suffered as you all didn't have the staff to provide your signature/ full cocktail experience. Otherwise it was a great time. It was my first and I will be back, the other in the group that have been there before love it and so do I. Thanks and looking forward to next visit.
The food was outstanding, I had the lobster wontons and seafood melange. The cocktails were delicious as well I had the bartender spice up my mango martini and the heat was just what I was looking for. Our server Jordan was attentive, respectful of our space, and knowledgeable of the menu and gave great suggestions. Great place for an evening out!
Everything taste soooo yummy!!
He food is fabulous and great presentation. And the best Red Velvet cake in Atlanta. A bit noisy though.
I enjoyed the atmosphere plus the food and service was great!
You can't go wrong here! Delicious food, good vibe, and a fabulous Aviation drink! Try one!
The food and service were amazing!
The server ignored us and we had to keep repeating ourselves
Absolutely love this place. I visit every time I'm in Atlanta
It was my birthday first time going cozy spot food was excellent! Will be going back
Sunday Brunch at Poor Calvin's is simply a "Feel Good" experience. I love the lively atmosphere, but more importantly, as a food snob, I love the cuisine! It's a tight space that's vibrant and laid-back at the same time. Make reservations, be there on time with your whole party in tow, and you'll have a wonderful experience on Piedmont Avenue!
Been multiple times and it never disappoints! Food was very grand!
Casual dinning. Loved that valet was right outside. Food was good but service little slow than expected but only for drinks.
Food had great flavors and very well presented.
Drinks were nice.
Omggggg, the food was incredible! Then the fried pound cake 🤤🤤 nom nom is all we could say. This experience took it to another level. We drove back home and we have been telling everyone when they visit Atlanta to definitely try here first. Great food, Period!
Birthday brunch for wife
A bit noisy in the back room. Love the food
Server Rah was excellent . Drink was good
Visited Pior Calvin's for a 2nd time to celebrate my anniversary and it was remarkable! I ordered the Stir Fry Vegetables with Tiger Shrimp and my husband the Fried Chicken with Lobster Mac and Greens...everything was flavorful! We also had the Lobster Wontons...yum! And my husband lives sweet tea, they didn't have that but recommended the Raspberry Tea they did have and it too was amazing! My husband is a tough food critic and he was blown away! I confidently recommend this place for any reason! Delectable!!!
Location is quaint with a nice vibe. Service was very good and timely and the food and drinks we ordered was outstanding.
The food was very good. We were seated to the right when you come into the restaurant. It was so noisy we could barely hear ourselves speaking. Probably will not return, sadly, as the food was quite good!
The food, drink, service were great. Had a very enjoyable evening
I unfortunately came on a weeknight when there was a large conference in town which made the restaurant wall to wall people. Service however was great. The food was okay, possibly I didn’t get the right things but feel it was just upscale Chinese take out.
Amazing all around! Cocktails were beautiful and delicious. Food was delectable.
We got there when it was slightly slow and the noise and ambiance were perfect. As our dinner progressed the location got pretty loud and hard to have a conversation. The food here is always amazing, however, having a shellfish allergy I would not recommend this restaurant. Everything pretty much has oyster sauce and a lot of opportunity for cross contamination (same fryer for everything). Also, due to the location/kitchen being small, everything is pre-prepped so any marinade is already mixed and you cannot modify to be shellfish free. There were only 2-3 options available to me, one of which would have made it vegetarian and no option to add a protein. Overall, love this place, would recommend researching or calling ahead if you have food restrictions to make sure you can eat.
This place is exceptional! I highly recommend going to dinner here.
The food at Poor Calvin's was amazing! Very cool little place. Need to make reservations a day early to make sure you get in when you want. Would most definitely go again when I am in Atlanta!
Great food. Fun fusion of Asian/Southern. Excellent service! I'll be going back here for sure.
This was our second time to dine at Poor Calvin’s having been impressed with our first experience. Poor Calvin’s is about as good at it gets. The food, service, and drinks were all excellent. We had a loud table close to us , a the noise level was a little high ,but differently would recommend.
Amazing! Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and provided us excellent service. A true gem in Atlanta! Can’t wait to go back!
Great variety of delicious Asian Southern fusion appetizers and entrees. Service was on point: friendly, respectful and efficient. The restaurant is in a kind of sketchy part of town so take a ride service there and take advantage of their complimentary Uber ride back to your hotel. They do offer free valet as well. The place is small but very charming. Really enjoyed it.
Great food, loved the forbidden rice. Will definitely return. All the hype is true. Place was packed at 5:30 on a Sunday
Great place for a chill day and/or just to hang our for a drink or two. If you love experiencing and tasting the different mouth-watering flavors this is your spot. Very enjoyable and time, would definitely visit again.
Just brunch but everything was perfect
The first time my daughter and I went for dinner. It was delicious. The 2nd time we went for brunch on Sunday and it was not good. I think we should have stuck to a restaurant with a more traditional brunch menu. She had a tofu dish and I had lobster mac n cheese with soggy noodles. The server recommended the double size mimosa as a "special" drink. But I found out that just meant you are paying for 2 mimosas at one time. Both cups of coffee were cold. Bill with tip was $85. Just not worth it.
Every 4yrs we go celebrate our anniversary here and always referring others to Poor Calvin’s! The food is amazingly delicious and one of a kind. My best suggestion is to get at 3 dishes to share because you’re not going to be able to decide on what you want to eat so try everything! LOL
Our favorites Yum:
Appetizers: Lobster Wontons & Seafood Egg-rolls
Main Course: Lobster Fried Rice/Tiger Shrimp and Stir Fry Vegetables/Crispy Beef/Seafood (Lobster/Shrimp/Scallops) Curry Cream Sauce & Lamb Chip (you will want to suck the bones) shhhh lol
Dessert: Toasted Poundcake (make you get coffee to help balance the sugar rush)
Take my advance, you will love EVERYTHING on the menu!!!!!
