Poor Boy's Riverside Inn
Great food, as always, and the service was perfect. Only complaint was that the wines by the glass were limited, but I found one that was adequate. We will certainly visit again on our next trip to Lafayette.
Lovely experience. Very quaint restaurant and surroundings. Very accommodating.
Flavor of food was good, temperature was lukewarm. Sweet potato beignet tasted like it had been fried in old grease for to long! Unable to eat dessert.
It was a friend’s birthday and we brought a cake for dessert. The staff accommodated us with no problems. The food and service was great, as always.
Birthday party, the food was outstanding as usual!!
Stuffed Mushrooms (baked) for appetizer was delicious. The whole table loved them.
I had the blackened catfish with vegetables and house salad. Our waitress was very friendly and didn't bother us to the point of being annoying (like some do), but we know she kept her eye us as removed dishes and refilled our beverages at the precise time. Bread pudding was excellent choice for dessert.
Riverside Inn has been one of my most favorite restaurants in the area. I have been going there for over 25 years. It's quality and service haven't changed at all in all these years and although the pandemic hasn't helped anyone, the patrons keep coming. Can't keep cajuns away from good food and atmosphere.
I sincerely believe if you haven't gone, try it and I guarantee you'll be back.
Very romantic setting with moderate noise. Food was outstanding. Waitress was sweet and always checking on us.
Always great food and service!
Good food great service.
This dinner was for a business meal, entertaining clients from out of town. They really enjoyed everything about the restaurant, including the food. Thanks for the great evening - our waitress was truly outstanding, as was the food.
Food was good, waitress was excellent. Wanted to try Cajun food for my first time and this was excellent choice.
Been quite a while since my last visit. Food was very good at a very reasonable price. Service and the friendliness of staff was beyond expectations. Felt like each member of the staff treated the place like they were ownership.
Don’t bother making a reservation. Our table was not designated when we arrived.. a hostess sat us at a table, and didn’t get a server for 20 min while tables around us were sat and waited on.. Went talk to the hostess, who was the one who sat us down but obviously did not assign a server, and a waitress finally came 5 min later. It took 1.5 hours for our entrees to be served. Our guests came from out of town 2 hours away.. We arrived at 720pm.. Good food but poor service from the beginning....
Food is excellent. We love the stuffed catfish. The place was busy, but the service was good.
Great local Cajun/seafood restaurant! Gumbo is some of the best!
The lump crabmeat in butter was amazing! Raw oysters were huge and delicious!
Food and service was very good.
The entire experience was outstanding. The food and service were exceptional. Very impressed and will definitely be back.
Fresh seafood, well prepared and served by professional waitstaff.
All-around great restaurant nice friendly family atmosphere food was great fried mushrooms was the bomb
It a favorite of ours for years. Consistently good food and service. My score only indicates for ambiance the nice fireplace could have been in use and wasn’t what a missed opportunity.
My wife and I went tonight for our 23rd wedding anniversary. We’ve been there many times and it’s always a wonderful experience. Awesome food and terrific service!
Little hidden gem in south Lafayette! Excellent service and food.
Worse food I ever tasted in SW LA! I will never go back there again! Not even for free!
Celebrating with family.
We always enjoy the food. Some of the best seafood in town. Richard and his wife are doing a great job with the restaurant. Have yet to be disappointed.
We were sadly disappointed in our visit, from the welcome to the food to the value. Our bill was quite expensive for what seemed we could have made in our own microwave. We did enjoy our waitress and the outside area is decorated nicely.
Just the best seafood that you can find in the area
A great place to to have a true dining experience. Excellent service in a nice atmosphere. Thanks, Larry
Food portions very small.
Restaurant need a remodel
We’ve been customers since they opened at this location. The food is always consistent and the service is always good.
I had the broiled trout and it had no seasoning what so ever. Very bland. Not nearly as good as it used to be. The restaurant needs a face lift. It looks the same as when I was a teenager and I’m 60! My husband had steak and it was cooked as he liked it. Not really a place we would go to again anytime soon
Great food and a wonderful staff. We had a group of 8 and were short on time. Not only did they take care of us but the food was outstanding.
My wife and I have been fans of Riverside Inn for over 30 years. It is a staple in Lafayette. The food is good, a little heavy with seasoning, but they are always happy for redo what we are having a problem with. We recommend Riverside, without question.
The waitress was nice but was constantly at the table. Food arrives and the crab dinner was not just bad it was awful. The crab cake was just fried cream cheese and hollow no crab. The crab ettouffee was tasteless. The stuffed crab was so salty and greasy and had almost a plastic aftertaste. I spoke with the manager and she took it off the check however did not offer an alternative. Also we had a glass of wine that we were finishing and the waitress brought the check and did not bother to offer coffee or desert. In addition the manager kept coming back in the area and looking at us. We have been going here for years and it was always great. It has been awhile but will never ever go back.
very good, a little dark in dining area. everything was very good. no complaints.
Love atmosphere of place. Food was great. Loved the wildlife around outside the pond and trees
You have never disappointed us yet. Food is always great!
Food was average, wine list was weaker than expected but overall ok. Great place for business dinner but not for a nice date night.
Not sure that the waitress heard me correctly when I asked if they had mango margaritas. She brought me a plain one. Not to waste it, I accepted it. She came back quite a few times to remove dishes. Took away appetizer sauce before I could ask her to leave it. There wasn't the normal amount of crab on my crab salad with the crab dinner. Maybe they're cutting back on this. Waitress was clearing salad plates before I was finished with salad. Took away the bread basket before we were finished eating. I felt as though we were being rushed out. I've never had that experience here. My husband and I were there for our anniversary and just wanted to have a nice relaxing meal. Our reservation was at 7. We were out the door at 8 o'clock. Wished we could have had a little more time to enjoy our meal. We've always had exceptional dining experiences here. This time just wasn't up to the usual.
