Poor Boy's Riverside Inn
We were sadly disappointed in our visit, from the welcome to the food to the value. Our bill was quite expensive for what seemed we could have made in our own microwave. We did enjoy our waitress and the outside area is decorated nicely.
Just the best seafood that you can find in the area
A great place to to have a true dining experience. Excellent service in a nice atmosphere. Thanks, Larry
Food portions very small.
Restaurant need a remodel
We’ve been customers since they opened at this location. The food is always consistent and the service is always good.
I had the broiled trout and it had no seasoning what so ever. Very bland. Not nearly as good as it used to be. The restaurant needs a face lift. It looks the same as when I was a teenager and I’m 60! My husband had steak and it was cooked as he liked it. Not really a place we would go to again anytime soon
Great food and a wonderful staff. We had a group of 8 and were short on time. Not only did they take care of us but the food was outstanding.
My wife and I have been fans of Riverside Inn for over 30 years. It is a staple in Lafayette. The food is good, a little heavy with seasoning, but they are always happy for redo what we are having a problem with. We recommend Riverside, without question.
The waitress was nice but was constantly at the table. Food arrives and the crab dinner was not just bad it was awful. The crab cake was just fried cream cheese and hollow no crab. The crab ettouffee was tasteless. The stuffed crab was so salty and greasy and had almost a plastic aftertaste. I spoke with the manager and she took it off the check however did not offer an alternative. Also we had a glass of wine that we were finishing and the waitress brought the check and did not bother to offer coffee or desert. In addition the manager kept coming back in the area and looking at us. We have been going here for years and it was always great. It has been awhile but will never ever go back.
very good, a little dark in dining area. everything was very good. no complaints.
Love atmosphere of place. Food was great. Loved the wildlife around outside the pond and trees
You have never disappointed us yet. Food is always great!
Food was average, wine list was weaker than expected but overall ok. Great place for business dinner but not for a nice date night.
Not sure that the waitress heard me correctly when I asked if they had mango margaritas. She brought me a plain one. Not to waste it, I accepted it. She came back quite a few times to remove dishes. Took away appetizer sauce before I could ask her to leave it. There wasn't the normal amount of crab on my crab salad with the crab dinner. Maybe they're cutting back on this. Waitress was clearing salad plates before I was finished with salad. Took away the bread basket before we were finished eating. I felt as though we were being rushed out. I've never had that experience here. My husband and I were there for our anniversary and just wanted to have a nice relaxing meal. Our reservation was at 7. We were out the door at 8 o'clock. Wished we could have had a little more time to enjoy our meal. We've always had exceptional dining experiences here. This time just wasn't up to the usual.
Always my favorite seafood in Lafayette! Still the same great food as always !
We got seated at 6 with a 545 reservation. Told the waitress we had somewhere to be at 730. Ordered our apps and entree's at the same time. Apps and salad came right out. Great food. Sat there for 30-40 minutes ordered another round. When she brought the drinks she says that they are putting the food on the plates. It's now 730 no food. Speak to the manager and she offered to comp the whole thing. I offered to pay for what we are . When the waitress brought the check I asked what happened and she said they gave our food to someone else. I should have let them comp me
It had been a while since we had eaten at Riverside Inn, I don't know why but I had forgotten how wonderful the food was. We both got the shrimp etouffe and fried shrimp dinner. No one fries shrimp like they do. The crust is crispy , but the shrimp is moist and tender. Included with the entree is a cup of stuffed potato soup, a nice size salad and rolls. You can't eat it all. Wonderful!
The twice backed potato was over cooked, dry, and half of it was deep with over-melted pasty cheese. Pretty much not eatable. The crabmeat imperial was also over cooked.
My husband and I went for our 25 wedding anniversary. The atmosphere was quiet and serene. It allowed for good conversation. The shrimp and catfish pirogue was outstanding as well as the seafood stuffed mushrooms. The wine was very affordable and excellent. Our waitress was friendly and very competent. She brought our food out slowly giving us time to really enjoy our food. We will definitely return to try other dishes on the menu.
Everything was delicious! The marinated crab claws were AMAZING as well as the fish extravaganza!! Will be back SOON!!
This restaurant has been a local favorite for many years. We were, however, quite dissatisfied with the quality of the food as compared to the price, and the service was barely adequate.
Have been visiting this restaurant for over 30 years, never had a negative outcome.
One of my favorite seafood restaurants. I have always found their food to be consistent but not this time. My wife also commented on her disappointment with her meal. It was not to our anticipated expectations. Guess it was an off night. Will not give up on them.
Been to poorboys many times with family and friends and as always the food and service is always great just as it was on my wife's birthday on6/30/19
Our favorite when we come to Lafayette
Our service was not up to their usual standards. We had to keep asking server for items. The chicken salad came with no chicken in it. The waitress did not even catch it before bringing the salad to the table. No apology from management or kitchen.
This is our very favorite place for an excellent meal. The food is consistently delicious no matter what you order. Wait staff is very accommodating. Our table was elegantly set and waiting for us when we arrived. Took our whole family out and thoroughly enjoyed our evening from appetizer to coffee and dessert, which is not to be missed. Can't wait for our next trip!
Sautéed crab was wonderful. Seafood salad and crab cakes were also
We eat at this location when we are visiting relatives in the Lafayette area. We find it is usually quiet enough to allow comfortable conversation. The food quality is reliable and the wait staff is friendly.
Happy birthday celebration. Lee Ann was a wonderful server!
Excellent food and service! We frequently dine at Poorboy’s Riverside and we’re never dissatisfied.
Not worth the money for the amount of food you get. I left still hungry.
Our server was Tiffany, who was excellent. She deserves 5 stars. Experience was awesome, we will be back.
Had a reservation for 4 on Easter Sunday. My husband and I arrived on time, but within 20 minutes found out that our friends would be arriving nearly an hour past our reservation due to a misunderstanding of where they would meet us. The restaurant was fine and did not seem to be bothered by this, possibly because they were not completely full. Our server was just ok, did not seem interested in being there, but was adequate. The food was outstanding, and has come way up from a couple of years ago, when I swore I would never go back. Apparently they have made some changes in the kitchen, and all of us had a very delicious experience, save for the waitstaff being mediocre. Note to restaurant, if a server has long hair, please ask them to put in a bun or braid, it was unappetizing watch that very long hair swinging around our table and over the serving trays. I know, I'm being unkind I guess, but it bothered me.
With reservations we were seated on time; prices little high for quantity of servings; but with soup of the day given, makes up somewhat; server was very pleasant and efficient; noise level little loud (customers' fault); will be back.
Have eaten there (even old location) for many, many years. Service is excellent (ask for the complimentary relish tray) nice cloth napkins and the freshest picked crab meat. Request a window table overlooking the pond.
Moved away so had not been in there for 15+ years. Still excellent! We will be back soon
Flounder was moist and tasty. Worth a return trip. Son says his Stuffed Redfish was great as well. He was really pleased that "grilled vegetables" was not the usual squash/zucchini trash most restaurants serve.
Amazing food!! Wonderful, friendly service!!
