Ponti Seafood Grill - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Ponti's food is always A to A+ and the restaurant is in a perfect location for a great walk before or after dinner. Warm summer days are particularly a good time to enjoy great food in an unbeatable outdoor location next to a working ship canal and bridge that opens for larger ships that frequently pass less that 200 feet from your table.
The decor could use an update but we were here for the food and they did not disappoint. The Alderwood Smoked Black Cod was one of the most amazing pieces of fish I had ever eaten. The smokey but not over powering taste combined with perfectly cooked, white, flaky and moist black cod was a work of art. The oysters are fresh and tasty as you would expect from Seattle. Companion had the Grilled Wild Sockeye Salmon which was also cooked to perfection. All plates were licked clean. The view from the large picture windows was delightful. Kudos to Ponti's for only serving wild, non-endangered seafood.
Really lovely experience. The crab spring rolls light and mostly crab meat, not a lot of fillers. We had the black cod which was perfectly cooked and the seared scallops-loved the seasoning. Our server was ver well informed and just the right mix if attentiveness and discretion.
My friend and I arrived one half hour early for our 5:15 reservation thanks to some amazingly smooth freeway traffic, and we were surprised to find the fireplace table in the bar available. So we sat there and enjoyed some wine and watched college basketball on the TV. When our reservation came up, despite the fact that they only had one window table still open in the restaurant, we decided to stay at our cozy bar/fireplace table and enjoyed a great meal with attentive service from Morgan. A great dining experience at Ponti's, as usual.
Ordered the Swordfish and Salmon for our entrees and I have to say it was the freshest fish we've had thus far. Don't skip on the appetizer because they have an amazing grilled octopus dish on the menu. Perfect date place for dinner. If you want quality seafood and a nice view of the canal, this establishment will definitely live up to your standards. It was our first time there and we were blown away by the amazing service and great suggestions our server provided us with. Can't wait until we travel back to Seattle because this reataurant is a must!!!
We love this restaurant and enjoy every meal. The Valentine's dinner was the best we have ever had - excellent - A-one... can't say enough.
Our server was fabulous. We mentioned to her (jokingly) that we would like the recipe for the shrimp soup. She smiled and shortly thereafter brought the chef to our table. He had a piece of paper and told us the recipe as my husband wrote it down. Wow!
I am unable to eat dairy and I'm always hesitant at restaurants as many are not very accommodating or unsure of ingredients. Our server was unphased and suggested alternatives to get me the meal I wanted. Not to mention the food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect for date night. Highly recommended!
We arrived at our scheduled reservation time to be greeted by Richard Malia, owner and to find the other three members of our party already seated at a table in the bar area with a window seat overlooking the Lake Washington Ship Canal and the Fremont bridge. After some mixed drinks and Champagne, two bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon were expertly opened by Brian. We shared Dungeness crab Spring Rolls and a beet salad for starters. Our entrees ranged from the Tempura Seared AHI (thank you, thank you for the re-introduced entree) to the Double "R" Sirloin steak and the always delightful Thai Penne Curry. Others in our party enjoyed the Hawaiian Swordfish and Weathervane Scallops. We shared desserts and. Rosalind's service was impeccable throughout the evening and our evening was completed. Another great dining experience was concluded at Ponti.
Great Food. My wife had the Beet Salad and I had the organic greens with pear, almonds, blue cheese and a great vinaigrette. For dinner, my wife had an outstanding lamb shank seasoned with anise and lemongrass. Beecher cheese potatoes along with perfect haricot verts and carrot slices. I enjoyed dual appetizers: Rangoon Crab and White Prawns with Siracha Lime.
Very tasty. Finished off with a trio of custards: Espresso creme brulee, pot au Chocolate, and White Chocolate Caramel.
Very timely service, not rushed and not too slow.
Since I drive from Whidbey Island, I never know how traffic will impact my arrival time. This time, I was almost an hour early and arrived before the restaurant officially opened. The staff was so gracious, immediately seating me at our table and serving me. They made me feel very pampered. Thai Curry Penne still as wonderful as always.
Ponti's is a great neighborhood restaurant. They are consistent in their service and the quality of food.
Ponti's has $3 valet parking, so parking is never an issue.
They have a great happy hour...just note that it's pretty popular, so if you want to sit in the bar, get there early!
This is certainly one of our favorite spots!
We very much enjoyed the Thanksgiving offering at Ponti Seafood Grill. All the food was delicious and the service was top notch. It did seem a bit crowded in the restaurant and we felt a little wedged into a space out our table. I would recommend this restaurant to friends.
