I was amazed by the view. That is what drew me to PVMC. It wasn't clear where to enter. The food in the late hour of brunch was only average. The snow crab legs were worthless. The expense of what turned out to be $75 for two was exorbitant, especially when my grand-daughter (guest) doesn't drink. Champagne served in fruit juice glasses? I do not intend to return.

This restaurant was merely average and left me wanting to go to the Red Lobster as it is a way better value. I think they know that their restaurant is not great as they include a soup and salad bar with all their overpriced meals. I was served then Salmon and potatoes on a plate that was way to huge for the amount of food on the plate making the food look really small in comparison. My wife's veggies were way overcooked so they couldn't even get that right. She said her steak was decent though and my Salmon was OK, but nothing special. It was our 19th Anniversary as sad to say it was a very forgettable one. The one saving grace was the soup and salad bar, even though my clam chowder was more like potato soup as it contained little to no clams. The salad bar part was very adequate with a good variety of items and all items appeared fresh that is the best I can say of this place, but paying 26.00 - 30.00 for a meal when only the salad is good is totally not worth it if you ask me. Pass on this place.

This is the forth time that I have dined here and every time it is a great experience. The view is exceptional and it was nice to watch it turn daylight to night with the valley below us. Friendly staff, great service, great soup and salad bar that comes with the meal.

We went as a special occasion for Sunday brunch, and were not disappointed. The food choices were outstanding, the service exceptional, the bartender was especially friendly and overall we were both very happy with our choice.

Always a great experience. We really enjoyed our night out. The food was great, but the ambiance is the best part of the restaurant. It is a bit noisy, but we didn't mind the noise level. Definitely would recommend for a nice dinner out.

We had a good time at Pomona Valley Mining Co. The food was good. I was disappointed that I made a reservation nearly two weeks and requested a window seat and didn't get the window seat. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and was hoping that we got a window seat. It seems like the window seats are at a first come first served basis.

I have lived in California for many years always wanted to eat here, I have traveled to many places had many steaks. I had high expectations. I had a steak dinner and there just was no flavor in the steak, I was a bit surprised that a normal pairing for a steak dinner was not a baked potato instead they serve rice pilaf with a bake potato as and add on for $4. On a side note 805 beer that was served tasted great.

The "cook"? Not sure if this individual is qualified as such. I ordered a steak medium well, it was served rare. I ask the server to return the steak for further cooking. Not only did the steak continue to come back rare (3 times) my date's meal was got cold, as we had hoped to enjoy dinner together. Twenty Five minutes after consulting with a supervisor a fresh steak "over cooked" arrived. While there wasn't a charge for the steak on the bill twenty five minutes to get an order correct seemed excessive and lacked any sense priority.

I have been here before and it was still a nice place to dine. I do miss the valet parking and the seating was not on time. We had reservations for 7 however did not get sat until 7:45 which in turn, we had to cancel our after dinner plans. There appeared to be no reason to make reservation and no interest in correcting the issue

Pomona Valley Mining Co. made our anniversary even more special as they immediately recognized our special occasion. We sat at a table by the windows with a beautiful view and the service was top notch. Food tasted amazing and salad bar was plentiful.

I wanted to like it because the location really was neat. But Food wasn't great. Ribs were dry. Shrimp and scallop plate was extremely salty. Salad bar was basic. The people were accommodating but it was clear they didn't care or put that extra something to improve customer service to match their prices. I Informed the person who seemed to be in charge that it was my dad's bday and he said OK but that they're busy so they didn't sing or anything. Just an expensive meal that wasn't well prepared with customer service equaling that of a fast food place. It's ok. I'll probably come back when I forget how bad the experience was.

The staff went above what we expected..very pleasant experience there. However, the meal was less than pleasant. The calimari was cold and tough to chew. Celebrating my wife and I our sixteenth wedding anniversary the steak i ordered was unevenly cooked. My wife did enjoy her scallops...again thanks to our waitress for her warm welcome and kind treatment.

We went there for our 11 year Anniversary. It was iur 1st time there. I ordered the rib eye steak. It was full fat. I went to get my soup and salad and accidenty poured a little bit of soup on my hand. It wS so hot i had to put ice in a napkin and put it on mt hand. I asked the manager if he had any burn cream for my hand and told him what happened. He acted like it was no big deal. Got me some burn cream and left. Didnt seems concerd at all. No appoligy nothing. I asked another server for more ice and they told me it wasnt there station and they would get my server for me. I was in shocked. I woke up the next day with a big blister on my hand. I wish it woyld have been better. I was so excited to go the for our Anniversary.

The food was excellent, the view, especially at sunset can't be beat! Kathy our server was so nice, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, gave recommendations & seemed to genuinely want us to have a good dining experience. The salad bar that came with the filet dinner was delicious! The atmosphere was so fun. I felt like I was dining at Knott's Berry Farm with all the mining equipment & decor. I will definitely be back!

Nice view perched on a hill a couple of hundred feet above the 10 freeway in Pomona, next to the fairgrounds. Food is expensive but good. Large bar area. Nice soup and salad bar but again, expensive ($18). Unique old mining town setting.

I had Salmon and my wife had the Shrimp scampi and scallops. Both of those were good, but the vegetable sides were lame. The salad bar is terrific and was almost a meal by itself. The cheese bread is awesome, but I am not supposed to be eating it. The thing that spoiled it was the 40 minutes or more from placing our order to the food being served. We were told it was due to a wedding party in the bar, but they should have been ready for that. Our waitress was nearly invisible most of the time, except for bringing the check. Someone else brought the plates. My water glass was never refilled even once after it was emptied and no one checked.

Our online reservation was convenient. Because we indicated with our reservation that it was our son's birthday, Kathy welcomed him by wishing him a happy birthday. He enjoyed his complimentary birthday desert. We appreciated our waitress Kathy's attention to detail. Our son chose Pomona Valley Mining Company for his birthday. We enjoy sitting by the window and looking at the lights. We had an enjoyable experience.

Beautiful view. Great service. Good (not great) food. I didn't care for the dark decor (even though it's meant to represent an old mine). Looks like nothing has changed since 1960. What was offensive though is the "soft rocks" "hard rocks" joke above the bar. Way too inappropriately sexist and heterosexual for this day and age. Maybe they could get away with that in the 20th Century, but it's way beyond time to paint over it.

Must admit that the evening was starting off on a negative note after being told by the hostess that my disabled Father would have to enter through a separate entrance on the opposite side of the restaurant then being told by the same hostess it would be another 20 minutes PAST our on-line reservation time before being seated.

MANY THANKS to Alex, our Manager/ angel who mercifully came to our aid. He quickly seated us after learning of our plight then proceeded to be the epitome of hospitality & exceptional customer service. Special shout out to our server, Garrett who also made our evening by making sure we had everything we needed. Alex & Garrett's kindness in honoring my elderly parents were extremely appreciated. They only get out once a week & their attention to their every need made them feel extra special.

in addition to the exceptional service tonight were the AMAZING views!!! We were so impressed with the diversity of the menu selections & grateful that with every entree each of us had a chance to take a trip to the incredible soup & salad bar...BONUS!!! House Cabernet was a perfect pairing with the 14oz Ribeye & 16oz Prime Rib. Mom said the Shrimp & Scallops were SENSATIONAL!!! We finished the evening off with Silver Nugget :) A sweet chocolate chip cookie baked in a silver pie tin & topped with a generous portion of vanilla ice cream...YUMMM!!!!

Our many THANKS AGAIN to Alex & Garrett for making our evening WONDERFUL!!!

We had not been here for quite awhile and looked forward to a delicious meal. My wife and I both ordered steaks, hers fillet and mine New York, both were overcooked. I brought it to the attention of the waiter, but told him next time we would expect them to be right.
They were seasoned perfectly although the quality was not what we were used to in the past.
We will probably go back because we believe we all have mediocre days and this must have been theirs.

We had a reservation for Sunday Brunch for a party of 5. After informing our hostess our entire party had arrived, there was a 15 to 20 minute wait to be seated. We were given a booth which did not accommodate our group comfortably, so we asked the hostess for another table only to be given another booth the same size. When we pointed this out to the hostess, she walked over to the hostess area and returned to escort us to a table for 4 and offered to add a chair at the end of the table. We shook our heads and noticed a table nearby large enough to accommodate our party so she offered us that table. Some of the members in our group already left the table and began helping themselves to the Sunday Brunch when the wait server said we could not sit at that table because it was reserved for another party. Our patience was running very thin and we wanted to leave and dine somewhere else but members of our party had already served themselves at the buffet. I walked over to the hostess area and asked why was it so difficult for them to find us a table and then seat us at a table reserved for another party? I returned to our wait server and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with a manager named Junior and said all we wanted was a table large enough to accommodate our party instead of playing 'musical tables.' He didn't seemed concern with the 'musical tables' issue nor did he have a issue with us staying at the table where we were at. Management never apologized or even checked back with us to see if everything was okay. Our wait server was very nice and apologized for the confusion even though it wasn't her fault. We were there to celebrate my brother's birthday but the way things were handled really put a damper on the celebration. It was a real challenge for the restaurant to find a table to accommodate a party of 5 and after all that, the Sunday Brunch was just average. It was our first time here and it's also our last. Gordon Ramsay where are you??
