Pomodoros Greek & Italian Cafe-East
Our three distinct menus reflect our commitment to providing only the finest fresh ingredients. Our cuisine pairs regional traditions of Greece and Italy with the diverse culinary talents of our chefs. "The basis of each dish is always in the tradition of the region, but the ingredients guide the way to new delights as well as old favorites."
Pomodoros uses only the finest oils that have zero Trans-Fats and are not partially hydrogenated.
Never disappointing, always excellent.
Whenever in Asheville we eat here. Today's waiter, Brandon, on point! Fun to talk with, knowledgeable and there when you need him. Meals.... delicious. My favorite - sausage& peppers w. pasta.
Our waiter, Branden, was excellent! The pizza, salad and beers we enjoyed very much, thanks to him for his recommendations. The restaurant was very quiet, there was no wait, ( it was a Thursday evening), but he was just outstanding and made our dinner very enjoyable. Thank you Branden!
This is the best Greek/Italian Restaurant that I have found in the Asheville, NC area
The Greek salad with chicken is still hands down the best Greek salad I've had in the Asheville area.
Ordered the eggs Benedict, and the portion was incredibly small. To top it all off, they left the prosciutto off, so it was just eggs and small portions of bread.
The "no" is for brunch - very disappointing. Food was lukewarm and crab cake tasteless. Dinner is always excellent here.
We have dined here numerous times over the last 13 years. Our meals came out slowly due to, we presumed, a short-staffed kitchen as the serving staff members were plentiful. Portions of the meal were cold. We assume that the kitchen had not indicated to our server that our meals were ready to serve to us. Since we are always hesitant to send food back to the kitchen, we ate the lukewarm dinners, which were very tasty but not optimal because of the food temperature. We love dining here, so we are extremely hopeful that the next time everything will be as perfect as usual.
We went to dinner at Pomodoros on a Sunday night. Restaurant was not crowded and the service was great! We shared a calamari appetizer-always good. I had a Stromboli while my wife had an eggplant dish. Both were excellent! One of our go to restaurants- especially during tourist season as it is not downtown.
Nice, cozy place. The hummus was so good! We will be back.
Great for family gatherings. No problem making reservations.
Everything was great. The waitress was very friendly and let us order when ready. The good was fabulous, from bread to entrees. Value was also very good. My only suggestion would be to make the red Sangria a little less sweet.
Good food, great service we got there @ 6 and only 12 people was there but filled up fast. Go by 7pm
SUPERB SALMON CAPER SPECIAL WITH HUGE CHUNKS OF SALMON. VERY TASTY!
Had a Valentine Day reservation. Restaurant was fairly busy, but no one waiting for a table. Wait staff was very nice, but there was a problem in the kitchen. We waited 1 1/2 hours for our food. Food was delicious when it finally arrived. We have given this restaurant high marks in the past, but this visit was a disappointment.
Food was perfectly fine, but nothing special. Service was very good, however.
My wife and I love coming to Pomodoros. The food and service are both fantastic. We will definitely be back.
Calamari appetizer was chewy. Other food was ok. Service was good. We were one of only three parties at the restaurant on a Saturday night at prime dinner time. Bartender, waitress, and kitchen made special effort for us.
My husband and I come here every time we are in Asheville. The PEI mussels are the best!
We went here for NYE and it was a bad choice. So many better options in Asheville. This is an average place more Italian than Greek. The kitchen was behind, out of items and the pizza oven broke while we were there. Would not recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice romantic dinner.
Previous meals at Pomodoros have been unusually good with respect to the quality of food, service and ambience. The pressure was on at and after 7:00 p.m. on New Year's eve and the restaurant didn't fare well. Our reservation initially resulted in a poor table, the kitchen was very slow and my meal (chicken marsala) was mediocre, with thin, tasteless gravy, a minimal presence of over-cooked mushrooms and an ice-cream scoop of warm, lack-luster mashed potatoes. The wait person did a fair job in maintaining a connection with my party, but should have recognized the hour's delay [!] in the presentation of the food we ordered and offered something during the wait besides occasional smiles ... like another quarter baguette or a second round of drinks. The clear lesson: save Pomodoro's for early dining on mid-week evenings.
The food was delicious. Salads very fresh and meals excellent. Have been back to take out pizza twice already!
Food was delicious!
Better than expected.
Been there before and it has always been better than Ok. This time, it was excellent with excellent service. Great to get away from the downtown crowd! Don't miss the calamari and sautéed spinach.
Great find! Great food!
Great find! Quinn was a fantastic server. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Great service ... please cover up the tatoos on your wait staff. I find them offensive and for such a nice restaurant, the tatoos cheapen the ambiance
This was our first visit to this restaurant. The food selections were very good to meet most tastes. The presentation prodded a desire to eat. The portions were more than generous. Our server was knowledgable, friendly and very attentive but not hovering. The atmosphere was cozy. Next time we're in Asheville, we'll go back.
The bruschetta was AMAZING!!! We also enjoyed the lasagna, 2 shrimp dishes, and a very good manicotti. Not a fancy place but great food and friendly staff.
Great little restaurant. Plenty of room. Not too noisy. Food excellent.
On the reservation I was asked if it was a special occasion and I said yes, a birthday and no mention of it was made.
Delicious Italian food! Initially had tried to get reservations at another Italian restaurant downtown as special occasion for our daughter and she requested Italian. Very glad we csme upon this restaurant “ by mistake “. Everything was great, food and service. Kind of in a suburban area, so never would of found without open table. Will be back for sure!
Food was not up to par as in the past. Chicken Marsala offered chicken that was tough to cut and eat. Chicken Piccata was overloaded with capers.
We ate at 8 pm, so it was not too full and, therefore, nicely quiet. Very nice warm bread served w/ oil and herbs. Spaghetti w/ marinara sauce was very good...the sauce was very tasty, fresh, just right. As tourists, we will be sure to dine here when we visit Asheville again!
I had salmon which is in regular menu accompanied by risotto & spinach. Risotto was only item hot on plate. Tairamsu ice cream was great! Our waiter was most accommodating.
Wonderful experience! Food and service were awesome.
We thought all our dishes, both Greek & Italian, were authentic and delicious. Mushroom ravioli was a huge portion; other entrees such as chicken Nastimon were a bit small. Loved the Greek salad & baklava ice cream!
Food quality was terrific!
Our server was the sweetest woman who had a lot of good insight on the area. She brought us our food, which started with a soup for my sister and a salad for myself. Soup was a bit salty, but not bad. Salad was..salad. Next our entrees came out. The Alfredo tasted exactly like nothing and both that and my Parmesan were watery. The meat in mine was as tough as leather. We actually sent the food back and left
