Pomodoro East Ratings and Reviews
I love having Pomodoro East in my neighborhood. The service is always marvelous, the food is always outstanding and I love the ambiance. My biggest issue is that I have a hard time choosing between my tried-and-true favorites -- the Fig & Pig pizza and the bolognese pasta -- and trying new seasonal items. Also, they have a fantastic happy hour, which is a great time to try lots of small plates (and drinks) with friends.
Have eaten there several times and enjoyed it tremendously, but I was very disappointed this visit. Waited 40 minutes for drinks. The cheese plate tasted great, but was very messy. I'm not a fan of sauces or glazes on the rim of the plate, but at least turn it the other way so that your girl doesn't get covered in sauce. Pizza took an hour after the appetizers were cleared. I'm glad this wasn't our first visit because I probably wouldn't return. I hope it's back up to standards next time.
We made the reservation for a friends birthday and made sure to let them know. However nothing was done about the special occasion we came for. We waited at the door to be seat for about 10min with several workers walking by without even being greeted. There was a pretty great selection of food choices, however once we ordered and received our appetitzer, the food runner nor our waitress was able to tell us what was on our meat and cheese plate. One of the entrees was spaghetti with meatballs. The meatballs were so over cooked and inedible. When we told the waitress of this she just said sorry and we were charged for them any ways. Empty glass were on our table without being offered to be refilled, we had to wave someone down. Our waitress also spilled the beer we ordered on the floor and never apologized. When we asked for recommendations for food and drink the waitress had no idea just stated well pretty much everything is good. Over all a not good experience and would not recommend to someone which was very disappointing considering the friend who's birthday it was had been waiting to go there for a long time.
Enjoyed casual dining at Pomodoro East. The tomato salad was fabulous with various types of perfectly ripened tomatoes. The entrees offer something for everyone, although the emphasis is on Italian food with pizzas made in house and various pastas. The wine selections include a special of the day, which we selected from and it was great. Service was first rate. A good value and always fun. Strongly recommended b
We had a wonderful meal here with friends from New Orleans. We sat on the beautiful outdoor patio which is well-fenced and even cozy. Food was excellent as was the service. We just moved into East Nashville and this place is walking distance for us so it will become our "go to" for Italian.
Wonderful service in this East Nashville modern Italian, from our first greeting by the host/hostess throughout the entire meal - we had a table of 6 and tried lots of different apps and meals, and all were delicious - good sized portions, tasty renditions of classics like chicken parmigiana, and several fish and vegetarian selections as well. An added bonus is wine list with several high quality wine options from Italy, Spain, US etc in the $30 range - they have the higher priced ones as well, but impressed with the variety and quality of their "everyday" wines.
I'm not sure what is going on at this place. We've typically had great experiences. One pizza was very burned, the other which was gluten free was undercooked and the base had a consistency similar to polenta, inedible. My wife didn't like her first glass of wine (personal taste, nothing wrong with it), tried to order another one and the server told her that she couldn't legally bring her another until the first was finished which may or may or may not be nonsense. Restaurant definitely needs to make some adjustments.
The food was really very good! We were there on a Sunday night. The patio was filled but there were only a few groups dining inside, yet it took quite a long time to get our main courses. Our server was wonderful and even apologized about the food taking so long to come out of the kitchen. I took the one star off for service because his timing was a bit off on getting the entree order submitted.
OMG. This place is AMAZE balls. The waiter was newer, so service at time was slow, but the food was spectacular. In particular, you MUST get the calamari. Anything with the pomodoro sauce is understandably amazing. The "sides" are HUGE, so if you want a smaller meal, you could definitely get one of those for the main course. I also recommend that you try the Cabernet red wine from Aviary. It was unreal. Top off your course with tiramisu.
Went there Sunday night
Had looked at the menu online and decided we wanted to go there only to get there and they had nothing we had chosen off the menu. Not even the wine.
The bartender was our server, and we both got a vibe like we weren't wanted there. Extremely disappointed.
This was my first time here, and went on the advice of a friend based on Wine Selection. Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the servic was good and the food quite good. I had the flat iron steak which was very good. I will definitely come back, as this would be a great place to bring visiting friends or out of town guests.
The food and drinks were wonderful! Best polenta I've ever had! (if you have more than 2 people, order 2 plates of it, you won't regret it!). The lemon artichoke fettucine was divine - we split an entree and it was the perfect amount. I wasn't crazy about the roasted brussels sprouts, they were too 'roasted' for me, but everything else was just delicious. All the cocktails we ordered were perfectly made.
