Pomo Cucina & Pizzeria Ratings and Reviews
Since the name of this restaurant has pizzeria in it I was expecting exceptional pizza. The appearance of the pizza was the first problem. The toppings were not evenly distributed, and it appeared to have a watery appearance which translated to a doughy center. The slices were not cut all the way through and the crust was baked unevenly. The crust was soft and the texture watery making it difficult to pick up without having all the toppings slide into your lap. I would have rather eaten at a chain pizzeria.
Well things have sure changed at Pomo. First time back this season and it was a big disappointment. We had our usual salad and a pizza to share and .... well, the salad was probably poured out of a bag that had been in the fridge for a week. Not exactly fresh. The pie had very little cheese and the sauce was nothing like it had been in the past. I'm guessing the corporate types that own Pomo decided that they should adopt all sorts of cost control measures and just hope nobobdy would notice the drastically lower quality of the food product. No such luck with these customers.
Surprised that our table was not ready when we arrived on time for our reservation. The restaurant was not that busy. Waitress very obliging when we asked to split Caesar salad and order of Lasagna. Surprised again that Lasagna was not divided up in kitchen. We were provided an extra dish when we asked for it and had to divide up the dish ourselves. The food was cold. Both the lasagna and the eggplant appetizer. We sent it back to be warmed up. Also surprised that there was not bread offered. The food tasted excellent. That's the only reason I would return or recommend this restaurant. The server was very pleasant, the two hostess not really.
My wife and I split a pasta entree and pizza based on another reviewer recommendation. The pasta entree is on the smaller side compared to other restaurants and make the perch split appetizer. Pizza was delicious but quite moist in the center. I understand that is how it is prepared and not under cooked.
Normally love this restaurant. Made a reservation and requested to sit outside. Also specified what special occasion we were celebrating. At first the hostess attempted to sit us inside which I politely let her know we requested outside. Our service was very poor. I think maybe the server was just busy but this affected our special day.
It’s a nice cozy place to take a date or meet friends for a casual, relaxing meal. The service is excellent - staff is friendly and quick to offer suggestions when you’re not familiar with the menu items. The outdoor patio has a nice atmosphere (it can be a bit noises at times), and the bar is also a nice place to sit for drinks and appetizers. Highly recommended
Expensive for what is really just pizza, but the carpaccio and wine list make it more of an event than pizza night. Noisy on the patio but a little too sedate in the dining room. Crust is usually amazing but this trip it was black on both pizzas we ordered. Perhaps the oven needs a little 50,000 pizza check-up!
Always consistent, always great. Can't beat their pizza if you want true napolitano style ingredients and flavor.
Michelle is wonderful; always friendly, happy, and so personable.
We love Pomo, and have been coming there since it first opened in its old location at the Borgata.
The food as usual was very good. However the waiter was very by the numbers. Never asked how the meal was. Didn't make too much Smalltalk to build rapport. Took my car to the real way before I was finished. And it was shown in his tip or should I say lack there of. But as usual the pizza was excellent
Service was responsive and food was delivered quickly. Pizzas were good but I did not find them to be "OMG ... Over-The-Top Amazing." I actually find most pizzas to be good and tasty but not amazing. The food temperature was perfect and did not burn my mouth on the first bite. I would go back because of the efficient service and fast delivery of the pizzas but not because I crave their flavors. My sweetheart, however, really like the bolognese, which is made from homemade pasta.
Seating and atmosphere are very casual and clean. Our server, Ben, was nice and did not seem to care that we only drank the free water. Overall, a good experience. I would go back if I am in the area.
