We are visiting from Texas and always have dinner here at least twice. It was recommended the first time we came to Palm Springs 10 years ago. Thus, we dine here each time we are in town. Service fantastic as is food. We also like the feel of really being in Paris
Food was very bland and way over priced. I don’t mind paying for quality but not for poor food.
Our group had a beet salad and fried chicken. I had the vol a vent chicken which was fabulous. Everyone enjoyed the food, the service was great and we can enjoy Belgian French food in town.
Delicious food and wonderful service. Great spot for a date night. The desserts are amazing as well!
Food was good but service was sub par by the first person helping me. I ordered a bottle of wine and then want to start with the beet goat cheese appetizer and wanted to enjoy the wine but she wouldn’t take my order saying “we don’t have a computer system here we put in the entire order at the same time”. I should have left but already order the wine and I really liked it.
Everything was delicious, from the appetizers to desserts. After having drinks there one night, we ended up eating dinner there every night for the rest of our visit. We loved the beet/goat cheese napoleons, french onion soup, and the soup trio as appetizers. The beef stroganoff was outstanding as well. My favorite was the creme brûlée--it brought tears of joy to my eyes. The drinks were delicious and the service was stellar. Attentive, but not obsequious. I definitely recommend making reservations at least the day before.
Wonderful dinner, great unobsequious service, great menu. Warm authentic atmosphere
Quality of food not up to expectation
We stop here every year when we visit Palm Springs. Never a disappointment. Wonderful food (mussels & frites) and excellent service!
I had the mussels with a creamy bacon and mushroom sauce-delicious. My partner had the Belgian beef stew, also very good.
Very good. Possibly the best food/value experience of a week in Palm Springs.
This is a small restaurant with about as much outside seating as inside seating. The tables are very closely spaced and the noise level was high on Saturday night that we were attending. The menu is not broad but the items are always tasty and well prepared. The service was OK but the staff were busy and not attentive at some significant times, such as finishing the main course and desert. Its staff are friendly and helpful, so we had a good time. The prices are high like most restaurants on the main street of Palm Springs. You go for eating the good food.
Our reservation time was not honored due to many walk-ins on a Friday night. However, after getting seated about 30 minutes late, the service, food and ambiance were all very good. The manager apologized for the delay and the dinner was lovely.
Really enjoyed our evening here. Very good service. The escargots were tender and tasty. The mussels were a very generous portion and properly cooked. There was no host the night we were there, don't know if that's always the case, but it would have helped to have someone greet the customers and distinguish between reservations and walk ins. But, overall, definitely recommend.
It took over 1 and 1/2 hours to receive our meals after we were seated. My meal was a simple filet of sole that was over cooked with hard edges. A disappointing evening and experience
Average ethnic with fair pricing- Owner operated In the main part of town
WOW! First time hear and now I know why this is a go-to favorite for many.
We waited for over 35 minutes for a table despite having reservations. As we asked to sit outside (too warm an evening to be indoors), the owner refused to seat us at a table for four which were the only ones available outside. Party after party, all walk-up patrons, got seated first. We asked to be seated at a 4-top, but he refused. About 25 minutes into the wait, he did offer us a glass of wine on the house, but the evening was spoilt by his attitude. Very sad as we think highly of their food, but clearly were made to feel his profit was more important than honoring our reservations. We were repeat customers and this last visit was a turn- off.
You will never go wrong by choosing this restaurant. food quality consistency is always found here. A no brainer when it comes to choose a good place to eat and enjoy your meal
I come to Pomme Frite every year I visit because it is tremendous every time I go. The food is unbelievable and the food is just as great as the quality of service that the restaurant provides. Never a bad experience for the past 12 years of going.
Have had many good meals and never disappointed. Appies, mains amd desserts are right on.
Wine is reasonable and beer list is outstanding.
Pomme Frite is one our favorite places in the area. Wonderful food and consistently so. Quaint and pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Pomme Frite is a nice little restaurant. Food was good. Wine list was short, but had a decent variety of wines from which to choose. My wife and I had moules frites with different sauces and started with the salmon tartare. Again, each course was good and should not disappoint. Surprisingly, the pommes frites were merely average. One might expect differently from a restaurant with pomme frite in its name. In full disclosure, we still finished all of the fries. We finished with the profiteroles. Pastry and ice cream filling were good, but the chocolate seemed straight out of the Hershey’s bottle. We expected more at a meal where you’re spending over $100.00.
Our third time here this winter and each time the food and service has been perfect....attentive, but not intrusive.
Excellent all the way around
We had our grandson and his date to one of his favourite restaurants. It was all that we could hope for.
Enjoyed our meal. The au gratin potatoes were the best I've ever had! My only complaint is that the tables are very close together. Impossible to have private conversation.
Waited an hour and a half for our food and they forgot our appetizers and sides. No apology, however offered a complimentary glass of wine. My friend thought his meal was too salty. I enjoyed mine. Probably will not return again.
Great choice of beers, lovely wine and wonderful mussels. A very enjoyable dining experience.
This Belgian bistro has been a favorite for years. Located on the Main Street of old Palm Springs, it is cozy in it’s European way. We were seated in what I can only call the cork room, as the walls are adorned with wine corks. Waiters are quick to offer drink and dinner menus, and fresh French bread comes quickly. Dinner that night was moules et frites for me, and steak au pouvre for my wife. The mussels were plentiful and very good, served in a white wine sauce. The French fries are superb.. crispy, and dome perfectly. A carafe of French Pinot noir for the two of us completed a great meal.
Food was amazing! Enjoyable evening out!
We always eat here a few times during our annual holidays in Palm Springs. Very tasty food and great ambiance. The chef has a good hand with spices and makes every dish shine.
A return-to favorite restaurant in Palm Springs. Be prepared for very European style close tables, but usually the ambiance to chat with nearby patrons is very good. Everyone enjoys and talks about the food.
A friend visiting us for the day; and, was looking for someplace quiet and with some ambiance. Had several meals there before some time ago when I/we came to Palm Springs as "weekenders". They've made some wonderful decor changes much more intimate and the noise level is such that you cannot hear the person across the room; only those at your own table. The food was incredible . . . not one aspect of the evening was amiss. Definitely going to make it a regular place for just the two of us; perhaps, we'll keep it a secret from our house guests!
The food was good but not exceptional. We dined late in the evening.Service was slow and erratic. I'd go back but wouldn't rush to do it.
Great food and gracious owner, M. Constant. Have been enjoying the food and wine/beer for many years
Food was good solid bistro food. Enjoyed the salmon and green beans. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Decent baguette. Ile flora RE was delightful. Service was competently efficient.
We enjoyed the great menu with unique choices. I had the salmon tartar which was delicious. Surprisingly it was paired with crisp French fries “pommel frites.” A favorite with all.
Food was as delicious and fresh as always. Figured out that our wonderful waiter is also a Hoosier, small world indeed.
