The onion soup and chocolate mousse are excellent. I am not a mussels person, but everyone in my dinner party enjoyed them. We ate inside this time. It was hot and loud. The ceiling fan was turned on mid-meal and it helped considerably.

went again for my birthday - its is a great restaurant for a special occasion or a nice night out. The first time we went we were quite amused by getting a bowl of French Onion soup with a pair of scissors - to cut the cheese it was so thick! YUMMY! It is nice because they have a variety of foods and not things I find on other menus. It was such a nice night out- we ate on the patio - though a little noisier from the street - but it really had the feeling of a french bistro!

Four of us enjoyed dinner & drinks. For appetizers, we had mussels, beet salads, and a french onion soup -- all very tasty.

Mains: I had the pork chop which was delicious but ever so slightly overdone. My companions had the 6oz filets (tenderloin) & the 12oz NY steak -- all were delicious.

Drinks were fairly priced but we had nothing but standard fare spirits over ice.

Would go again.

excellent service from the time we were seated to the end of the meal when we received the bill! Nicole provided impeccable table service, was pleasant, there when we needed her, but never intrusive. The quality of the food was stellar.

The whole evening was wonderful.
We were seated right at our reservation time and greeted by the most gracious host.
We had a wonderfully attentive waiter, but he was replaced without notice by a very pleasant server after our entrees were served.
Our appetizers and meal were wonderfully prepared, served and were delicious.

We had a wonderful dinner at Pommes Frites. I had a fantastic and NY strip steak and my boyfriend had the special which was Osso Buco. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and you feel like you’re in Europe. This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Palm Springs.

Everything was excellent! Our table of 4 ate a wide variety of items from the menu including escargot, cuisses de grenouille, and confit de canard (which was tender and juicy). A great restraint for any occasion. Well placed in the city.

We were welcomed and seated immediately. Our server was helpful, pleasant and friendly. Our two friends had mussels, which they said were outstanding. My husband and I had coq au vin which was excellent. Special praise for the perfect pomme frites.

Some patrons have complained about unfriendly service in the past. We have never experienced anything but wonderful service and superb food

This is the third time I’ve brought friends here for dinner and the third time I’ve received tons of praise for selecting such spectacular dining spot. Many out of town guests are surprised to find we have such a great place here in the desert.

Food was just ok; our server was nice but the owner was not (we almost walked out after waiting 20 minutes for our table when we had a reservation and there were plenty of open tables). There are so many great dining options in Palm Springs to choose from; sadly this was not one of them.

We were celebrating my sister-in-law‘s 70th birthday. I was pleased to see that they acknowledged her with a single dessert for that. When I first called for reservations the guy on the phone was so brisk and wouldn’t listen to me! I was trying to ask for a special table but he kept cutting me off and saying “We’ll see you at 5:30!” I know he’s busy, but that almost made me go elsewhere with our party of five. Once we got seated we were treated very well. Food and wine were excellent for everyone! This place is small and people don’t have much room to get around, but they were packed, with people lined up outside so I recommend reservations even during the week! I think it was worth it! And we will be back.

Pomme Frite is a ritual on our visits to Palm Springs. Moules frite, mussels with various sauces, is my goto here, and it didn't disappoint. My husband was even more enthusiastic over his filet steak frite. Service is well-organized and very competent, also personable. It has the feel of friendly bistros in Paris. A great evening.

From the moment I was greeted by the snooty Gallic maitre’d to the last spoonful of creme brûlée, I felt like I was in “The Real Thing.” This is a quintessential Belgian/French Bistro. Who’d a thunk! In Palm Springs! The food and service are impeccable. I’ll be back “encore et encore.”

I have been to Pomme Frite 6 times in the last five weeks. This last visit my food arrived when my companion was finishing his meal. It was the fish special and I did not finish it, seemed mushy or not done. On five of the six visits the food was very good to great! Service several times with Nicole was excellent!!!
One night with a party of 7 we had a new waiter, lite colored hair, said he was a dishwasher I think.
Pitifully poor service. Some people had not shown up for work. On some nights I would rate Pomme Frite a five on others because of bad service or food a 2.

We always enjoy the food. The only unfortunate part was even with a reservation and all of the tables outside being open, as two women he would not give us a table away from the entrance. Several groups came in after us without a reservation and he told them to choose any table that was open.

For a truly French-Belgium culinary experience at affordable prices, Pomme Frite is the place to go. Beer afficionados will appreciate the colourful beer menu offering a very wide selection of Belgium beers, some traditionally made by tappist monks. Then there's the wine. French, Californian, an international selection--whatever your preference. Check out the walk-in wine closet. My husband and I dine at Pomme Frite at least twice during our annual 3-week winter pilgrimage to the Palm Springs sun. Bon appetite!

My favorite place in Palm Springs for a Belgian/French style meal. Seating is close... much like France or Belgium, but noise level good for hearing your table companions. I've liked everything on the menu, but of course moules et pommes frites is a mainstay. I'm not familiar with Belgian beers, but after some discussion, the waiter picked one for me that was perfect.

Although we had a reservation, we were told it would be at least a half hour wait for indoor seating (it was a cold night). The service was inattentive; they forgot to prepare and bring my own salad when my friend's salad was brought to the table. I eat a Keto diet and avoid starches but was told by the server that I could only substitute a "starch for a starch." This policy has become popular lately (Johannes has the same one) because restaurateurs don't want to substitute more expensive green vegetables for super-cheap potatoes. I guess I understand but it makes for an unwelcoming environment, and hard for people like me who don't want a different starch. The food was so-so. I've been to this restaurant several times but I won't be going back.
