Polaris Grill Ratings and Reviews
The Polaris Grill is a favorite restaurant of mine. The menu is large and varied. They do an excellent job with their various fish entrees. All four of us had fish - the dishes were outstanding. I love the 55 salad, and the caesar was excellent also. The service is always good, and our server was outstanding. She let us talk and did not rush us at all. Once we finished our drinks and ordered, the food was served promptly. Our server checked on us often. A manager came by our table to say "hi" and ask how we were doing.
The service was good, the food was OK...of course, the 55 salad is always incredible...but, the music was incredible. Their selection of music, that was consistently playing throughout brunch, was soothing and comforting. I felt like I was in another city or time period, where music culture is prominent. The music, alone, made me want to return soon!
We saw the rave reviews and we decided to try the restaurant. It may be that we were unlucky but our service was poor. We wondered whether the waiter would take our orders. Three tables were seated after us and he took orders and brought drinks and bread for all three and for one table refills. We never received bread and he finally took our order. We will never go to the restaurant again and we will tell all our friends about our negative experience.
Wait staff was excellent. However, two of the four meals were served cold and even though manager offered to replace, time to get second meals would have taken too long. Very disappointed for new year's. To be fair, manager did take one meal off of bill and we received two salad dressings.
We chose Polaris Grill for our anniversary dinner. Portions are larger than other similar type restaurants. Food and martinis were fantastic. Took home cheesecake because we couldn’t eat it all. My husband ate over half of the dessert and he normally eats just a bite! Got a free “55” dressing because it was a special occasion. Service was excellent! We will return for sure.
I found Polaris Grill to be quite adequate. There were aspects of our menu choices that were iffy but overall it was quite nice. Not sure the price was indicative of what we got but dining in Columbus is like that. Would I eat there again? Perhaps if someone we wanted to meet wished to eat there but I don't think I would seek it out.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. For some reason, though we were seated at a corner table next to server's computer station next to the exit. It was very cold. We mentioned it to our server who said she would suggest that the heat be turned up. Unfortunately, our dining experience was greatly diminished by the need to wear a sweater and winter coat.We could see at least 5 other empty tables that were in warmer areas of the space. Disappointed.
I have always enjoyed our meals at Polaris Grill. I have been many times and have taken all my friends there to celebrate their birthdays. My family has attended the Easter Buffet several times. I tell everyone that it is the place for the best steak in town !
