Polaris Grill Ratings and Reviews
Overall, quite good. Atmosphere was a little loud, decor was nice. Front desk service wasn't great but table service was great. Food ranged from exceptional to just good. Wine list was solid and beer list, while not extensive, had outstanding selections top to bottom. Value for the money is mid range, not a great value but not overpriced.
Disappointing to say the least, the steak special was a huge disappointment, @ $45.00 I expected a great piece of meat, while it was under seasoned, if even seasoned at all. I had a better piece of steak at low end chain restaurant earlier this week. the meal kept up to its bland nature with the other meal which was another special (triple ....something) the salmon was overcooked and dry, the crab cake had a bunch of shells in it, the filet was overdone and bland as well.
I'm sad to say that on top of the poor food, the service was just as bad, we were there for almost 1 hour before we got our meals, the drinks sat empty most of the time and were not refilled but once, finally the person bringing the meals and salads insisted on handing me my plates across the table instead of just walking around to my side and placing them in front of me.
We did not bother to send the meals back as we did not want the hassle and were hungry enough to eat. I'm afraid if we would have sent the food back we would have waited another hour to eat.
5 of us from around the state meet at Polaris Grill several times a year to celebrate our birthdays. The food is always outstanding and the service is friendly and efficient. We love coming here and appreciate the staff's willingness to accommodate our group. Most of us order the consistently-delicious orange horseradish-crusted halibut. For dessert we get the Mississippi Mud Pie and Pineapple Upside down cake. Yum.
This review of Polaris Grill is following an anniversary dinner on Nov. 2 and many previous meals over the years. I had a filet and my wife lamb chops. Both meals were well prepared and, along with the sides, delicious. With a couple glasses of wine and a tip, about $100. Although not exactly an intimate setting, PG is far from being a crowded, noisy big box restaurant. Staff have always been friendly and helpful, meals are served promptly, requests are routinely met. One of our go-to places for a nicer than average dinner out.
We stayed at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris and wanted somewhere close to eat. After reading some reviews, we decided on Polaris Grille. The food and service was great. We expected a more quiet atmosphere, but we were seated in the big dining room and found it quite loud. Perhaps many were there to celebrate a Buckeye Football victory. Regardless, we truly enjoyed our dining experience, and found it worth the price.
