Food and drinks were good and reasonably priced for this type of restaurant. My server seemed nervous and it took him awhile to begin serving my table. He noticed that it was my husband's birthday, but no offer of cake unlike the table next to us which was offered cake for their anniversary by the manager. Seating is kind of tight. I was hoping for a romantic evening, but was sat next to a loud group of people.
It’s an amazing place. The view is the best thing about this experience, the food isn’t something that is standout-ish but it works for those who like those dishes.
Great place ask for gray
We waited over 45 minutes to be seated, with a reservation. The service was terrible, our server wouldn’t look in our direction and seemed annoyed that we were even there. Other couple next to us arrived before us and waited an hour for a drink. Our food arrived before theirs.
Worth it to eat in such a fabulous restaurant with a great atmosphere. I had Steak OSCAR....sp good. Our server was very helpful and pleasant.
They were wonderful and took excellent care of my party. All the food was delicious!
Great for entertaining guests to the city; cool rotating view so you get a 360 of the skyline. For dinner time we saw the sunset and the lights at night.
Ordered drinks and all three deserts to share amongst the three of us. The drinks were ok-nothing spectacular (especially for the price). The deserts were so small as to be almost invisible. Sharing them among three people was all but impossible. For $10 each, we expected something a little more. View was nice but not nice enough to compensate for a $100 bill (including tip). Unless you have money to spare or a very small appetite, I would avoid this place
Great staff. Delicious Food. Elegant dining area. Highly recommend.
Food was very good. Service was the same. A bit noisy however.
This was such a great restaurant! The atmosphere, workers, and the location. You can’t get any better the cheese plate is to die for. By far the best thing as well as the beach daiquiri.
Great service and a fun decor. Would highly recommend as a setting for a date or a celebration. We went for drinks and each one we tried was phenomenal.
I was hoping for a bit more variety. The food was great especially the Demi glacé. I think a lot of focus goes into plating and risks the food being lukewarm. It was barely warm enough to enjoy. Great view of the city for sure! The elevator ride will surprise you for sure.
Went for son’s graduation. First time. Across the board, portions are RIDICULOUSLY small (appetizers, glass of wine, entrees). The single $40 mini lamb chop was 50% pure fat. My son and I ordered it, and could barely rescue 4-5 small bites of flavorless meat. The veggies-roots that came with it were impossible to cut or chew. Cocktails and bread were the highlight. Setup and service were great. I don’t mind an expensive meal, but when I charged my Amex $300 I felt thoroughly ripped off. I didn’t say anything since this was a family celebration, but I left the place highly dissatisfied.
Food is great but the portions are very small. However, the flavors of all the dishes we had were succulent and the presentation of each plate is visually appealing. Service is impeccable.
It's a wonderful place for ambiance and view. That's part of what you pay for. Go for it at least one time. You'll make up your mind pretty quickly. You'll probably end up bringing friends or family here for special events.
Polaris has an amazing view, but that’s about it. We ordered the Vegetable Paella (a $22 menu item) and were served microwave rice (not fully cooked) and generic frozen vegetables (the potatoes were still frozen). It was a joke of a meal. Waitress/manager was nice enough to comp it, but we never even saw the manager or owner. Everything is way overpriced. Go here for a drink or two, not a meal.
Highly recommended for a nice view restaurant. Some dishes were good some not so.
Delicious food, drinks, ambiance, and service. Even though we were running late, they were accommodating and seated us quickly upon arriving. Highly suggest reserving a table a bit before sunset as it’s a pretty view. The blue dome dessert is heavenly and highly recommended! Gary, our server, made it a wonderful dining experience.
Steak Oscar was delicious and cooked to perfection.
I kept reading reviews that portions were small but I do not agree with that. My steak portion was great. Took the advice of other reviews and had the Frozen Peach Daiquiri, it was delicious!!! A must do while dining here. Enjoyed the banana pudding for desert. Great service from the staff and I highly recommend going to this restaurant. The view of the city is beautiful.
Our food came out really late but we were given desserts for the wait. The staff and ambience of the restaurant were amazing and I really enjoyed my true medium steak.
Our waiter/bartender was excellent. Very attentive. Food was delicious.
Excellent waiter, food, and ambiance! Can't wait to go back!
We were celebrating a friend's retirement. It was a very special occasion and Polaris was a perfect choice. The food was outstanding and the service made us feel very special. I don't think I realized how beautiful our city is. Seeing it from up there and watching the sun set and the lights come on was very spectacular. We really liked being able to valet park another big plus. I would certainly recommend the Polaris to anyone who wants a very special evening.
It was nice but not great. Most food was good but one dish had to be sent back. Service was very slow and they couldn’t seat us for more than 30 minutes past our reservation.
This was our first visit, a lovely evening celebrating our anniversary. All of the staff were very attentive and treated us royally. The food was delicious and we hardly waited it seemed at all. We had the duck taco, steak oscar, and the chocolate blue dome dessert. My only observation was the lighting could have been dimmer. We ate in the evening and the glare on the glass windows made it difficult to see out onto the city lights. But we very much enjoyed the view from earlier at sunset.
The linguine had a terrible texture and it was too spicy, it also needed salt.
I complained to the waiter and he brought me another linguine in better shape but still not good. I was offered another drink and thought it was perhaps going to be on the house given the bad plate and the extra wait. But I got charged for everything and we left very unsatisfied. Overall, The ambiance was nice but food was expensive for the quality.
It was an excellent experience, beautiful view of the Atlanta Skyline, the rotation of the restaurant provided a panoramic view. The food was delicious, I feel the service could have been better but other than that it was such a wonderful experience.
Everything was amazing! The prices were pretty high and I wish there were just a few more options
It was all wonderful: the ambiance, the food (so good!). My only complaint is that the service wasn’t great. We were left for long periods of time with no check-in, and our server was - in a word - dismissive. Just very cavalier and not terribly friendly.
Excellent, per usual!
We had a great time with delicious food on all courses. The setting was outstanding and fun views over Atlanta.
I love the view
Great place! I really enjoyed the view and the ambiance. The food looked creative and tasted good. And it felt like being in a fancy spaceship.
The gimmick is the rotation. Without that, you really wouldn't go. The drinks weren't great and the food portions were staggeringly small. Views were ok but not as good as the Westin. Some good appetizers but it's an overblown experience trading on a gimmick. My wife and I wanted it to be awesome. But it was just ok. And at that price point, you would think it would be better. Good service though.
I was in town with my daughter for a volleyball tournament, staying at the Hyatt... and we decided to dine at Polaris.. such a nice restaurant to welcome us to Atlanta! The food was great and so was the service! The view was amazing as we rotated around the hotel.. one recommendation would be to expend the menu a bit. Only about 5 entrees to choose from and not very “teenage friendly”... we did however get the seafood pasta dish and it was amazing! Thanks for a great dinner!
We went more for the expiernce of the rotating restaurant we had no idea how amazing the meal would be.. Each course kept us wanting more. From the bread to the dessert we were blown away. I will remember this meal for years to come. Thank you
Fun times at the Polaris
Great experience. Food was great, the service was incredible and the ambience was one of a kind. A truly memorable evening.
