Polaris Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had an excellent experience. Server was very kind, and the manager came to our table several times to make sure we were doing good. Their wine was amazing. I had taken my husband for our 9th year anniversary and surprised him. He said it was the best surprise dinner place. We would definitely go back again.
Our waiter Marcus was incredible. He added a great deal to our enjoyment of the meal. He gave us plenty of time -- no rush, even thought the restaurant was busy and provided us with suggestions from the menu.
You may come for the view as it is remarkable. Polaris makes a complete 360 degree rotation revealing of downtown Atlanta. But don’t be concerned of motion sickness or any effect other than the awe it provides as it makes a full revolution in an hour hour.
What you will be pleasantly surprised when you see the presentation of food and then taste it! I highly recommend the sweet potato soup. Wish I had taken photos to show but I was digging into the food before thinking of that.
Service and ambience were impeccable. The rotating restaurant part was "interesting" since we were surrounded by many taller buildings nowadays obstructing the view. Nevertheless it was nostalgic and not particularly intrusive. Plus it adds to the ambience that you get the same panoramic views no matter where in the restaurant you are seated. My date and I loved the smoked meat and cheese hor d'oeuvre with the wine to start. Entrees of braised duck breast and Hawaiian fish were nicely prepared and presented. We enjoyed them, though they nothing too extraordinary. For some reason they thought it was my date's birthday. So she was surprised with a lit candle on her dessert. It was an enjoyable evening. Worth visiting again.
Our meal at Polaris was fantastic. I am a foodie and am never blown away by a meal, but Polaris was truly special. The 70s ambiance is fantastic, service excellent, great city views with a private, living room dining feel, and to top it off the food was beyond fantastic and pretty affordable for the quality. We went for our anniversary and this will be our new tradition. If you’re hesitating, STOP and make a reservation!
Very nice environment, wonderful views of course. Great service and very good food prepared with care. Birthday acknowledged and very nice dessert given. When $70 or $80 can easily be spent for mediocre food and drinks for two, this was great value in comparison. One appetizer, two entrees and a bottle of wine $127 plus tip.
Honestly, I was really impressed by the restaurant. The view is truly breathtaking, while going to the restaurant for a business dinner or a date would be great, I really caught myself looking out of the window more than I was talking. The restaurant is beautifully designed, whether rotating past a classy entry way or the kitchen where the food is actually cooked, yes the kitchen is in every sense of the word "open", you will have a great time. The staff was great, and the food was delicious. I usually don't respond to these emails, but i really enjoyed myself so I felt it necessary to say thank you for the excellent time!
The mini rooms set up of the restaurant keeps groups in private bubbles. The menu is compact, but packs a punch and covers all bases. Hyatt’s roof honey is quite tasty, so do try something on the menu that features the liquid gold. Thank you Chef, for stopping by to enjoy the view and telling us about the apiaries. You must save room for a Blue Moon for dessert.
Fantastic food in a wonderful setting! Was looking for a place for a large party at short notice and Polaris fit the bill. The fact that the restaurant revolves was icing on the cake! Everyone loved their meal and the service was exceptional. I will definitely try to return when I am next in Atlanta.
The place is really nice. Has great possibility. The service need to step up to be categorized has an upscale restaurant. Especially the receiving.
Our waiter Corbin was very good very knowledgeable and great conversation.
The food was excellent, great flavour presentation and taste.
A must go.
Polaris has definitely resurrected the art of fine dining. While it has a very nice bar/lounge vibe, our special birthday dinner was superb! Besides the views, the rotating dining, the service is amazing. Everyone was very polite, attentive and accommodating . Very classy place but not stuffy or snobby. Loved seeing the kitchen work—very organized and coordinated production. The drinks and menu are very creative and absolutely delicious. We had the charcuterie appetizer with their own honey (They have a honey liquor too!!). Steak was wonderful as well as the duck. They even brought a beautiful birthday dessert. And when was the last time the chef visited your table. We had a wonderful time and never felt rushed. Can’t wait to return to Atlanta just so I can eat here again.
Nothing beats the view of a revolving restaurant. The food was excellent. A perfectly cooked duck breast, seasoned and served with a crisp vegetable medley. This was after having the locally grown platter and bread . It was Wednesday, so the bottle of wine was 1/2 off. This made the dinner very affordable. The place was clean, well appointed, and the service could not have been better A fun dining experience, delivered by professionals, with a stunning view, all for an affordable price.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Polaris on Friday, October 6, and the waiter (do not recall his name, but he was young and new to Atlanta) was fabulous! Thanks so much -- I went to Polaris as a child and it was lovely to renew memories in a renovated setting .
As new residents of Atlanta, we very much enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at Polaris. We enjoyed reading about its architectural history and we liked the "spacey" interior design and being able to see the plating activity on several passes as we turned. The staff was attentive but not hurried - we didn't feel like we had to move along for another seating, so we happily stayed for 3 hours and enjoyed the successful combination of food, ambience and nighttime revolving view. There are relatively few tables in the dining section (which makes you special) and and several lounge areas, which we want to try out next time. We liked that there is a smallish, select menu making choosing easier. The signature dish Steak Oscar was as excellent as other reviews say. The pasta dish was meh, but the appetizer and dessert more than made up for it. The only complaint we have was the noise level. The neighbor tables (4 to the left and 6 to the right) were speaking and laughing normally, I would say, but we heard every word anyway and couldn't have the nice, quiet conversation we would have liked to. It sure would be nice if they could figure out how to dampen the noise a bit. I'm sure there was piped in music too, but we couldn't hear it. My recommendation for romantic couples is to come later in the evening (basically the second seating) when the "groups" have moved on. Then it's a truly wonderful experience, and affordable to boot. We will certainly be back!
