Scallops were delicious. View was amazing and good ambience. Perfect dinner / date spot. Not crowded at all.
This was a fabulous date night for us! Great food, view, service and cocktails! It could not have been any nicer!
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Pricey, but worth it for a great evening. Daniel was terrific, took great care of us.
My waiter was very helpful describing all the plates. Very well worth the price.
I really enjoyed the way Greg handle his job. He was very professional and polite. Need more workers like him
Well, if you're looking for a dining experience that includes a high "swank" factor with a business casual vibe, this is it. The hotel itself is a beacon of 60s-era mod luxe style, you can drive up and have parking taken care of (and your Polaris receipt serves as parking validation). The cocktails were inventive, as is the somewhat limited menu, and the kitchen team takes great care in presentation. Overall, a lovely place for a memorable celebration or splurge.
However, there were a couple of "things."
Before you make reservations, e aware that you will be charged $15.00 a person if you don't show or cancel with less than 48 (might have been 24) hours notice and apparently you're charged $5.00 for the privilege of making the reservation (at least, there's a $5.00 charge on my card that's otherwise inexplicable).
The food is a bit overhyped (and, in one case) misrepresented in the server's description (the duck breast, though very flavorful, did not come with the skin crisp as earnestly promised by the server, nor was it served medium rare as ordered), and the preparation/presentation is a bit too desperate to be different (such as with the steak Oscar, chopping up the asparagus and mixing with with the crab in a little copper pot - who thinks chopped up, mixed up asparagus is more beautiful to behold than spears?).
The most off-putting moment was when the server took it upon himself to instruct me on how to eat my meal, since he was apparently not satisfied that I was mixing each element of my meal by the bites (with great care and enjoyment, btw) instead of mixing it all together first and then eating it. That may have been a singular incident and not something every diner would experience, but I'm pretty old and I've been eating a long time, and I'm pretty sure that's the first time a server ever tried to tell me how to eat my food.
Overall, though, this really is an iconic Atlanta dining experience and it's unlikely you'll be disappointed.
We had a fantastic experience! Great atmosphere. Beautiful view. We were dining with two picky eaters, so I’m always hesitant to ask how their meal is....but when I did, they both said they LOVED IT! I couldn’t ask for a better family birthday night out.
Let's face it - the fact that John Portman placed a blue UFO on top of the Hyatt it was an act of fantasy rarely seen in architecture. The food and drinks are OK, the atmosphere is fine, but it's the rotating tour of the middle of Atlanta's skyscrapers that is the real winner.
service and food were good, however, with the amount we paid, we just did not receive enough and were still hungry afterwards. Also, we were placed on a couch and we had a coffee table as our table. Try cutting a steak when the table is at knee height
Very nice place had a great time
Throughly enjoyed our dinner and grateful that the weather cooperated so that the boys were able to take in the views. Michael, our server, was knowledgeable regarding history of the Polaris and identifying sites of interest while being accommodating as we were celebrating 2 birthdays. Our entrees were delicious and plated well. Look forward to going again.
Great service all around. From when we parked till we left. There's an elevator that takes you all the way to the top. Once you exit the elevator into the restaurant, there's someone there to greet you and immediately take you to your table. The view is SPECTACULAR! It took an hour to do a full 360 degree spin. Food was great and drinks were good. My wife enjoyed every moment and that's the most important part. I've never been to the other spinning restaurant, but my wife says she prefers this one.
Much prefer the server last time. He was friendly and engaging, personable, and provided and overall experience. This server did not. Don’t ask if we want regular or decaf coffee and then “confirm we want decaf” just bring decaf without us knowing.
I don’t appreciate that I had to provide a credit card to book the reservation with the threat of a fee if we didn’t show up only to sit in traffic stressed about being late to arrive at the restaurant and wait over thirty minutes downstairs in the hotel lobby to be taken upstairs. And be told multiple times “it gone be a minute.” Great. There’s a bar upstairs, correct? Take us up there and let us have drinks before or at least say something to provide guidance as to whether we have enough time for a drink or appetizer somewhere else. I hadn’t eaten all day and was faint by the time we got to the table. Only to be carded at the table (spare me the obligatory comment about requirements.) and treated like I was a nuisance to the waitress. God forbid she attempt to engage by asking if she had been there before, had questions, needed recommendations, etc. I think she would have walked away or been too good. As someone with a background in the service industry I have a particular issue with these types of serves.
Polaris has amazing food. Plain and simple.
After having a lackluster experience and food at Chops last night we were craving the amazing food and experience Polaris Offers. I’m disappointed the the entire waitstaff doesn’t provide the level of service.
Also - the Buffett that is used to store napkins and silverware - it there is a table dining next to it - should be off limits to access by staff or it needs to be removed. I felt like I was in the storage closet and that the staff was more concerned with prep work than my dining experience.
Let’s be clear - my dining experience is what pays the bills. In that moment - that is the focus.
Never lose focus.
Enjoyed the quiet experience of revolving round looking at Atlanta by night.
Pleasant polite waitress, brought free dessert with candle for birthday treat.
Quality of food and coffee good.
This is an excellent restaurant!
Terrific spot! The bartenders are knowledgeable AND hilarious. Be sure to make a reservation and put every name in your party on the list.
The server was such a pleasure! We both got the steak oscar and it was so delicious. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and they gave us dessert. It was so good 😩 They’re definitely on the pricey side and small portions, but I feel like the experience was well worth it. The wait for our food was not long at all and we made a reservation prior so no wait for seating. Definitely will come back for another special occasion!
It was amazing as it was our first time!! And even more special because it was our 1 year wedding anniversary! Loved it
Daniel made our experience enjoyable. My boyfriend is usually picky and doesn’t do surprises, however he was THOROUGHLY surprised and enjoyed his birthday dinner! Great ambiance, food, and service.
What a fun experience! Great views of downtown Atlanta, neat to get the full 360 degrees in an hour. The butternut squash brushetta was delicious, recommend the Bees Knees cocktail and the Beef Bolognese. Great service, comfortable seating.....really overall a fabulous experience.
Enjoyable couple of hours having dinner and drinks. The menu was a bit limited and think possibly better to have a drink and enjoy the view. Need good weather to benefit the view. Prices were a little steep but the food was good.
Service was exceptional, food was amazing as well as overall presentation. The rotating lounge idea is perfect for a luxury experience in Atlanta!
It was a wonderful dinning experience rotating at the top of the Hyatt throughout our meal. The food was very good as well as the service. It’s pretty expensive but worth it for a special occasion.
Daniel was very professional and friendly, made us feel welcome.
We had the most wonderful server, Gary! He checked on us regularly and surprised us with dessert for our anniversary!
Always a pleasure to be at Polaris. The food is brilliant, the service is personal and the view is unparalleled. Whether you are a vegetarian or a carnivore, you’ll find something intelligent and yummy to eat. The drinks are delicious too. Best to go in parties of four or less, it is more intimate.
The food was okay, the drinks were good, the service was good. All over I’d rate it a B.
The views were spectacular!
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We both enjoyed it. Our waiter was exceptionally friendly, best personality ever. I will definitely return with friends. Only thing I did not like was the table was very low, so if you have leg problems it wasn't comfortable, but other than that exceptional dining.
The view was spectacular. The waiter was excellent. Menu was kind of limited but the food was delicious.
Our reservation had nothing to do with the time we were seated. A lot of standing around waiting for a table even with a reservation. Food was “ordinary” and dessert was maybe less than ordinary. Great view I guess but I’d go somewhere else if it were a special occasion.
Love Polaris! Service, food and ambience is 5 star!!!
Food was very expensive for the amount. Hardly no selections to choose from. The ambiance and the view were the only thing to brag on.
It was good
Anniversary dinner.... Wack my server was not friendly and seemed uninterested in us even after we explained it was our first time being there
Our server acted like she hated us and she couldn’t be bothered. Put a damper on our experience. Food was good though.
Celebrated my husbands birthday here. The ambiance in the lounge area was chic and modern with fabulous views of the city. The cocktails (Forefathers & maple old fashion) were tasty yet strong. We only ordered the charcuterie board to snack on and it was delightful. Only downside was a large party were being loud but overall a great experience.
Great service, ambiance, and overall experience. Will definitely be back.
My wife and I enjoyed our visit as usual. Great service and wonderful food. The pork t- bone was delicious just as the steak oscar always is.
I had an excellent experience
I love the view, and the way the city looks at night
